Classic Danube From $3,849 pp* Featuring a 7-night Danube River Cruise

Could not get into the room at hotel until late afternoon. My luggage was delivered to the wrong room and took a long time to find it. Room had 2 twin beds but another traveler switched with us that had a full size bed. Connections in London were awful. I needed a wheelchair and it took a long time for them to get it.

HAD TO WAIT TO GET INTO THE HOTEL. MY LUGGAGE WAS DELIVERED TO THE WRONG ROOM AND TOOK A WHILE TO FIND IT. ROOM HAD 2 TWIN BEDS BUT ANOTHER TRAVELER SWITCHED HER ROOM THAT HAD A FULL SIZE BED. CONNECTION IN LONDON WAS AWFUL. I NEEDED A WHEELCHAIR AND IT TOOK A VERY LONG TIME TO GET IT. SHIP WAS VERY NICE AND FOOD WAS GREAT. MOST MEMORABLE WAS CONCERT IN VIENNA.

Trip was well organized and tour guide was very good. She kept all of on schedule and was very helpful. We enjoyed all of the side trips. Service and food on the boat were very good.

Really enjoyed Bavaria, Munich and Vienna.

Everything was great , from the our tour guide to the cruise line, to the food and the excursions. I was glad to see Collette even arranged gentler excursions for some of the elderly. I would definitely use Collette again. This is our second trip with Collette and both have been excellent.

Most memorable was the evening cruise in Budapest with all the lights.

This is our 4th or 5th with Collette and always first class. They book great places to say and get us in places we would like tosee and take us to the front of the line. Very tallented tour guides. Transportation from place to place is very comfortable. Wayne and Lyn

The Classic Danube trip was a well organized trip, however not without a few snags. Our tour manager Polina Malinowski did a terrific job handling the snags that occurred during the trip. She is a true professional and should be recognized for her unique skills. One criticism is with the Collette scheduling of the flights. On our return trip Collette scheduled our flight from Budapest to Frankfurt with only a 1 hour connection time in Frankfurt ( which isn't enough time for the Frankfurt airport). I expressed my concern about this when Collette gave us our flights. But Collette assured me that it was enough time since the connection was in the same terminal. Well as it turned out our flight from Budapest was 15 minutes late which would have caused us to miss our connection if it wasn't for Lufthunsa. Lufthunsa met us as we exited the plane and personally escorted us through passport control and took us in a van across the tarmac to our connecting flight. Otherwise we would have missed our flight. Unfortunately our luggage didn't make the flight. However we did get our luggage the day after we returned home at our home airport. Also, we didn't like having to make so many connections both coming and going through Canada. Another criticism was our ground transportation to BWI airport. Our driver wasn't the best. He wasn't focused on where he was going, not paying attention to his GPS and almost missing 2 exits and scaring us a couple of times with his driving. However on our return trip (BWI to home) our driver was excellent. Another issue was with the disembarking the River Boat Luftner in Budapest. The handling of the luggage from the ship to the buss was chaotic. The Collette tour managers did not have much help from the ship's crew. Polina and the other Collette tour managers had to haul the luggage from the ship up a steep ramp and across a very busy thoroughfare to the bus. Then the bus driver had to load the luggage. This delayed our departure to the Budapest airport. Overall the ship, its crew, food, and accommodations were excellent. Can't say too much about the hotel and food in Garmisch, Ger. Mediocre at best.

Memorable experiences were, Munich and the Glockenspiel; Vienna Austria; the village of Garmisch; Regensburg; Budepest at night; of course the entire cruise on the Danube mostly the Wachau Valley.

Our second Collette experience. We did the Tuscany experience in 2018 & the Bavaria/Danube River cruise which was magnificant. We will always use Collette as excellent service is always provided.

My comments are self explanatory.

Went on a cruise with Collette and everything was great! I didn't have to worry about anything...flying, tickets, meals, cruise, adventures...anything! They let me totally enjoy my vacation!

Not ever having been on a cruise before, not positive about the price!

They changed flight from direct from Miami to RSW with stopover in PHL without asking us. At time we were in Philadelphia area so did not want RSW to PHL. So cancelled RSW to PHL leg which at time was $325/ticket. ($750 total). Collette has refused to refund this unused portion of trip. Per people on flight the plane was full so our tickets were sold to someone else. With this type of customer service I will never use Colette again and will highly recommend to many others we know that travel frequently to avoid them. ( this was not our first trip with Collette).

Tour was not planned well. Some of best sites were passed by or so brief as to make you feel you missed the best.

We would recommend this tour without hesitation. The ship, staff, food and itinerary were first class. The optional tours as well as the included tours were also first class. This was our first river cruise and feel very lucky because our ship was able to cruise the river even with the river being so low. There were ships that had to dock and the passengers ended doing a bus tour..

The entire vacation was really great can't pick one item.

The whole trip was very well organized. I just like that it was a small group and we got to make new friends. Our guides were great and the cruise staff were wonderful.

I just loved the crew and how they catered to our needs. Kudos to the chef and his staff. They provided us with great food and the selections were great.

Everything was so organized and "top shelf"!

I loved gliding down the river and watching the castles on the cliffs. I was amazed at the locks!

2 of the 5 flights that we booked and paid for through Collette were missing, causing us to almost miss our first flight. We spent over an hour at the Lufthansa ticket counter and on the phone with Collette trying to resolve the issue. Not a good way to start your vacation. I brought this up upon my return and was assured that someone at Collette would get back to me. Still waiting

Many of the optional excursions should have been included, especially at Melk

The overall experience was great but I also appreciate Collette's attention to the personal needs of their customers!

All of the stops were historical, picturesque and a feast for the senses! Sitting on the top deck of the riverboat and watching the world go by with such stunning scenery was a personal highlight!

Perfect. Very attentive staff. Excellent food in taste and variety. Tour manager knew the sites and worked well with our group.

Great itinerary. Bratislava was my favorite stop.

Everything was fine except the river was to low to complete the cruise. We had to be bused at the end. A great 2 nights at the resort in Seeland, Austria.

Four stars is good. No one gets 5 stars. Had a great time getting to know my favorite bartender on the ship.

I would definitely use them again. from the moment we left the house to the last day, everything was planned so well. fun and knowledgable team.

This was our first river trip, brand new ship, great crew, good food, very nice locales that we visited.

First night in Budapest where we experienced the lights on the buildings.

Our river cruise lived up to our expectations. The Amadeus Queen and her crew made us feel pampered and comfortable. Our guide Marius Curea was EXCELLENT. He was efficient, organized and charming. We always felt we were in good hands. We would recommend him highly. All the local guides were informative, lively and made each city come alive.

Excellent service, great value for the price and professional treatment throughout the tour. We were most charmed by Oberammergau. The local guide was so deeply involved in its history and culture. We loved the free time we had in this town.

Tour director, Marius Curea was excellent. He took care of all needs above and beyond.

Exactly what it said in tour book.

We arrived early morning to Budapest and the boat was not available until after 4pm. We were exhausted and ended up sleeping on a bench in the great market. We had no change for toilets. The boat desk would not cash a 5 euro and there was no time to go to an exchange. There should be some accommodation for that. There were two large groups on the boat and they were very exclusive. I’ve been on other tours. Those tours were more homogeneous. It was our most expensive tour with Collette but I enjoyed the others more. Perhaps this was just too big. While the hotel we ended our tour in was nice, ( our scheduled hotel dropped our tour) we had 90 mins. Of free time in Munich and I had hoped for more.

The cathedrals, monasteries and Bavarian Alps were impressive.

The limo service to and from the airport was very good. The flight arrangements were excellent and the collection and delivery to the boat was well done. We were taken care of and felt comfortable and safe. On board the boat service was fast , efficient and there before we even felt that it was needed. The excursions were well planned with a variety that aimed at different interests.

Two events stand out. The first was a preformance in Vienna that included some classical chamber music, a little opera and a little ballet. A nice mix that was well put together with music that most people , even those unused to classical music, would recognise. The second was a visit to see the Lipazanner stallions that I did on my own but was possible because of the free time that had been built into the program.

From Budapest to Wurzburg my experience was excellent. Our guide, Katarina, did a excellent job and went beyond expectations. She helped me find a pharmacy open on Sunday in Vienna. The service and food on the ship exceeded my expectations. I was surprised at how friendly and hospitable the other travelers were. My only complaint lies with the air travel. The exceedingly long travel from Denver to Budapest on three airplanes will very long layovers made for a poor start. I wish I could have been on the direct flight from Frankfurt to Denver.

The concert on Vienna was my personal high point.

Everything aboard the Amadeus Princess was exceptional. From the time we were greeted upon arrival until we left the ship all was fantastic. The crew went out of there way to accommodate us at all times. The food was the best I have ever had on any ship. Also the ship was extremely clean which was also a highlight..

These tours were very nice but however rushed .Munich would of been better if we had more time. Also it was a full day from getting of the ship then by bus to Muncih and then another long drive to Wurzburg. Our group of 8 would of preferred to spent two nights in Muncih then fly home.

The river cruise was excellent. Cruise personnel were very attentive and ready to answer all questions presented to them. Dinning staff was friendly and anticipated all requests. One feature not impressed with was tour of Munich. Poor start to trip. Ride to and from Munich was too long while time spent too short. Did not live up to what posted in material. Would ditch Munich and to something else where participants could get a flavor of local culture closer. If not for the Munich part I would say the rest was excellent.

Enjoyed smaller cities would have liked more time to roam on own.

Bus tour to Munich was too long, driver froze us and half of us got colds (I ended up with pneumonia). Silvia was absolutely wonderful, very helpful, and a wonderful lady. Local tour guides were great. On the cruise, the wait staff and cooks were outstanding. My wife has food allergies and they met her needs 100%. Cannot thank these people enough for the quality of their work and devotion to details. All staff personnel ware very respectful and helpful, outstanding. Layover of five hours in Minneapolis was a bummer. By the way, we are supposed to get two checks for $50 (or $100) because we were not taken to the airport, remember?

Rothenberg, Wizzenkircken, Bradislavia, and Budapest were the best.

I have severe food in tolerances and require a dairy/gluten freel diet. The wait staff and the chefs on board were all amazing. I was served a special dessert every evening.

Wurtzburg was amazing; hotel, restaurant in town, tour guide and tour. Did not care for the very long bus ride to Munich.

Always ahead of us and never left us hanging. It made for low stress transfers.

The local guides were exceptionallly good. They had depth of knowledge from history through to the latest in their communities. Then each evening it was back to our luxury hotel on the water with excellent meals.

Adjusted the menu to suit my food allergies, staff adjusted the itinerary to suit group of slower walkers upon feedback, gave us more time for shopping upon feedback.

Tours were perfect length and guides knowledgeable. Bus ride from ship to wurzburg a bit long. Took cruise because we dislike bus tours and sitting too long. Hotel at Wurzburg had one choice on menu ( salad) for my diet needs and expensive. Otherwise very enjoyable. Your company should consider doing an exclusive river cruise/ shopping tour for those of us that love shopping as another way to view other cultures. Not just Christmas shopping. Could have alternate activities for others. It would be a hit.. if you arranged shipping to hometowns.

Long wait on the return flight in Toronto--5 hour layover.
