It's hard to choose a favorite. The Peace Museum was excellent, the Airborne Museum was excellent, Point-du-Hoc was very cool (and windy :) ), the American Cemetery was beautiful and moving. All or our local guides were great.

The trip was to be a learning experience and it was, no wasted time on frivolous shopping. The cemetery at Omaha Beach was the most memorable experience. Was sad to see so many of the crosses belonging to the young Americans that died in that campaign to free so much of Europe.

The American Memorial Cemetery overlooking Omaha Beach. Sobering experience. So proud of how these 9,000 plus 1800 more are being honored. Beautiful grounds. The respect was visible everywhere. May they continue to rest in peace. Thank you for your service.

Mercure Hotels were not up to the 4 Star expectation that Collette advertises. They didn't supply shampoo, etc. and would not supply request for additional sheet or lightweight blanket instead of heavy comforter. Hotel Mercure Reims Cathedral had badly chipped paint and torn carpets....clearly less that would be expected in a 4 star hotel.

Mark Godin made the Tour interesting and kept us on pace to make sure we saw everything. In our opinion he went above to make himself available to everyone including the last day making sure early travelers had a breakfast to take with them and that transportation was on time. Never had to worry about luggage. London, Caen Reims were great.

There were many, many great moment. A few would be the D Day beaches and cemeteries. Just to be in those sacred places was awesome. Also, the place of surrender in The ins was significant and having dinner at the Eiffel tower was amazing. Viewing the lighted Eiffel Tower from theMountparnasse Tower was a beautiful sight.

My fav experience had zero to do with the tour. I explained in French to French children on a field trip to the glider museum in Ste. Mere Eglise about my dad who was a gliderman on D-Day. Tour lacked a much-needed historian to answer Qs and give added info on the Normandy invasion. Tour Mgr only knew what he read on his sheet. For a spectacular tour as this, remembering D-Day, a historian was needed more than our expensive dinners and lunch. The Eiffel Tower dinner was excellent, but the champagne lunch on the same day was too much.

Reasons mentioned in the first answer to this survey. Also, my favorite memory is attending a Memorial Day service at the American Cemetery in Normandy. Our tour guide, Mark, rearranged our itinerary so we could be there. The Normandy beaches were incredible! Least favorite memory- The Churchill War Rooms. It was so crowded in there, we could not enjoy the exhibit. Every complained about that.
