Make your own air flight or get stuck in economy for 14 hrs

The tour was amazing! Only disappointment was that, I, who paid for everything, was stuck in economy seats on our return flight and my traveling companion hot business class & even first class! I had paid for round trip business class for both of us. I just wonder how you determone who gets the better seat. I keep expecting some sort of refund on the air fare, but nothing yet. If i EVER travel with you again, i will handle my own flight arrangements. I wanted to travel with Collette for years but my desire has soured. I doubt that I will use Collette again. Alessandro, our tour guide, should get a raise. He helped make my dissappointment a wee bit better.

When a flight is cancelled due to a strike, the airlines are the party responsible for your new flights. The guide was to direct with people and there wasn't enough restroom stops and there was way to much walking. The hotels were beautiful and the food was just ok! The Tuscan feast we all felt was a rip off!

I loved our tour manager, Alessandro Pucar. He was outstanding, very enthusiastic, PATIENT and went above and beyond. The city guides were good as well Hotels were great-locations were great and food at the restaurants were also great.

Nice Introduction to Italy

Exceeded expectations. As a second Collette tour, the process was seamless which made the overall experience most enjoyable. The tour guide Alessandro was exceptional, personable, and so attentive. The bus driver was super and the travel experience was superb riding through the Italian countryside. The hotels could have been better (when compared to Ireland's) in that not one really provided a memorable impression except for the location of the Venice hotel. And, the dinner meals provided need to be reviewed in being too crowded, noisy, and too long!!

I do recommend them highly. The tours and everything that went with those tours were exceptional. Our tour guide was absolutely Wonderful in giving us unbelievable amounts of history and also cute and funny stories that we all enjoyed. No one could have done it better. Regardless the weather, which we had a lot of rain, he was at the head of our group, leading us with his flag held high. The tours would not have been the same without him.

Every tour we went on was Wonderful as our tour guide made it that way. The most impressive to me was Pompeii and how advanced they were in every area of life. What a terrible shame it had to end they way it did, but then, if it hadn't, we would not be seeing the life they had back them. It was hard to see a tiny baby covered on ash.

The Collette tour was a lot of fun - a great experience. We saw many things and learned a lot. The guide was very informative, good natured, and had a great sense of humor. He even helped us all the way to the airport - and guided us to our airline check-in...it was very helpful. I had no idea how little I really know about the world we live in! I would definitely recommend a Collette tour! ❤️

We booked our trip directly with Colette originally in August for Reflections of Italy. Then my son's start date with his new job was moved up and we had to switch to a trip in July. The phone staff was very easy to work with in helping us select a different trip that would work with our schedule. And when I called after booking to add insurance or optional add ons, they were very easy to deal with.

Our tour was fairly short (6 nights) but we felt like the itinerary showed us as much as possible in the time available. We would have missed some of the highlights if we had been on our own. Our tour guide as well as the local guides were awesome. We would have preferred that the hotels in Rome and Florence be a little closer to the sites but the Venice hotel was a great location.

We had a wonderful time. They took care of everything for us. The lead guide, Giuseppe, was patient, knowledgeable and friendly. The local experts were very knowledgeable of their city. All of the arrangements were handled perfectly and adjustments by Giuseppe were spot on. If you’re traveling for the first time in Italy, use Collette.

This is a tour for those who have never been before.

It would have been helpful, when booking the flight, to be told that we'd have 5 hours to wait before our room was ready. The tour guide suggested an activity that would eat up 45 minutes at best. We found our own way to a bus tour that was the best bet. The airport pickup were all good.

Overall, I felt it didn't respect our time, meaning 30 minutes wasted in Bologna waiting for a bus when we could have been shopping, the 5 hours upon arrival, too much time allotted to see David, no clue that we would not be entering the Duomo, Santa Croce, or St Mark's. We wandered around the Duomo the night before, having dinner nearby, but never thought to go in because we believed we'd see the inside the next morning. Not fair. The 42-page documentation never told us the expectation for tipping in restaurants. My favorite memory was dinner near the Duomo, which had nothing to do with the tour.

The whole experience was awesome, wouldn’t change anything. I will remember this trip forever. They planned everything to well and on time the tour guides where excellent and our tour coordinator Savio was more than expected he was very knowledgeable and friendly and easy to talk too, very approachable and if you needed anything he would go out of his way to make it happen. And oh yes he’s very funny. I would definitely book another trip with collette tours and recommend one to friends and family which I already did.

Collette's customer service is deplorable

I called to advise them the morning of departure that my passport was misplaced they advised me I would have to get another one. By the time Momday rolled around I was sick in bed. I had taken a bad fall the end of August and was in the hospital for awhile and am still under Drs care. I resigned myself that I was losing the money I paid for my trip but then to add insult to injury Collette billed me 250.00 on 12/15 I have no idea what for. This whole experience has been a nightmare and I'm wondering why I bought trip insurance. Collette's customer service is deplorable

Thank you for your feedback. Cancelling on the day of departure due to a lost passport is not a covered reason with our insurance. The transaction on 12/15 was a refund in the amount of $205 for two pre sold optional activities that did not operate on the tour: Tuscan Feast and Rome by Night.

Missed the limousine rides because I went through Vacations to Go. Won’t do that again. All was organized and went well, except basically making me pay for excursion through Vatican City. Vincenzo said I would have to wait 3 hours if I did not go to VC. Same happened with catacombs tour.

Do you understand how long it takes for 42 people to walk anywhere, let alone a few obese women and many overweight men and women? Needs to be emphatically stated in trip description people will be walking a long way in brisk steps (not passively sauntering and resting through the tour). This made walking through narrow streets with many turns was frustratingly lengthy and time consuming. I did not like Vincenzo stating he liked his job and we needed to rank him as Excellent. The ranking of Good for him and the Coliseum tour guide was not enough—we needed to rank them Excellent.

The tour was fantastic and our Guide, Sabine, was excellent. The only reason i didn't give 5 stars was that too much was packed into one of the days (trip from Venice to Florence with both a tasting and lunch in Bologna along the way). We felt a little rushed for dinner when we made it to Florence and we wanted more time on our own to see more of this beautiful city.

The local guides were excellent. The included meals were very good. Unfortunately, each of the hotels we stayed in had issues. Construction on the building just outside our room, shower that leaked onto the bathroom floor and wall outlets that did not work.

The extra gondola ride we booked was not worth it, a very poor experience. The included meals at evening were adequate but not anything to rave about. We would have liked to spend more time at the coliseum as well. Our tour quite, however was exceptional. A very pleasant and knowledgeable young woman with a goodsense on humor and compassionate towards others. The bus driver was fantastic as well.

Friendly courteous service throughout. All tour guides were not only full of information, but fun to be with. The main tour rep (*******) we had for the week should be commended for her knowledge and constant caring of the group. Was an unexpected pleasure that all transfers were easy and efficient and did not have to worry about transporting luggage etc. Included dinner events were great, and the optional bought events as well.

Too much of a church tour for my taste. We didn't get to really go inside most of the churches, just see the outsides. Lots of free time, but then why did we pay for a tour to be left on our own? Way more walking than I expected just getting to the sights and to our hotel in some cases. Hotels felt remote from sightseeing.

I would have given you 5 stars, but our pick-up at the airport upon arrival in Venice was terrible. The instructions on where to go were confusing and when I called your hotline for help, they didn't know what to tell me. Apparently, our guide was responsible for meeting us. That would not have been possible because you expected her to be at the hotel taking care of those who already arrived. Our flight was late, but Collette made the reservation so you should have known our timeline. One of the reasons we purchased a tour was to get help with transportation. The quality of the guides was excellent, and we enjoyed our tour quide. She did a very good job of helping us with anything we needed. Her knowledge of Italy was adequate. The guides hired in Venice, Italy and Florence were very, very good. Their enthusiasm and knowledge brought those cities to life. I was very impressed with them and would highly recommend this part of the trip. The hotels were adequate, clean and quiet. Everything about this trip was wonderful except our transportation issues. When we were returning home, we had to pay baggage fees to get from NYC to Omaha, NE because our reservation wasn't booked in a complete trip, including the stop in NYC. That cost us $50. Overall, I loved the trip. I just wish I hadn't been left at the airport in Venice wondering what to do.

Awesome opportunity for a great tour, but it wasn't.

If you actually want to have some time to see the sights in Italy, don't waste your time with a Collette tour. We were very disappointed on some days, as it felt like we had wasted our time with the local guides arranged by Collette, as there was more interest in getting us into gift shops in order to generate kick-backs, than there was to give us tourists time to experience the sights. We have done out last tour with Collette. Additionally, this is the forth survey I have completed where I have expressed our displeasure, and no one from Collette has attempted to contact me to discuss the concerns we had with our trip. I guess they have made their money and are happy to leave it at that.
