We are actively monitoring the discussions in Congress over federal funding, and the potential impact on our tours visiting Federal Sites & National Parks across the United States.

Without an agreement between the House, Senate and White House, the government will shut down on Saturday September 30, 2023 at midnight. The impact to our Tours will be limited to those visiting some Federal Sites & National Parks across the country. Some states including Utah, Arizona and Colorado have indicated that they will provide the necessary funding to keep the National Parks operating. Other states are considering similar measures.

If we are unable to operate or your tour is altered due to the government shutdown, we will contact you directly prior to departure.

Volunteering for a New Partner

Earlier this month, volunteers from our UK office spent a few hours weeding the grounds at the Willow Tree Centre, a new Collette Cares Partner.

The centre offers outdoor activities to disadvantaged and special needs children, scouts and other youth groups allowing them to get closer to the great outdoors and expand their knowledge of nature whilst promoting healthy exercise. The organisation receives no public funding; they rely entirely on donations and volunteers.

Our team got together to do some badly needed weeding in the facility’s activity area for the children’s playground – without which it was becoming unusable. The team will be returning to paint the outside of their building during our yearly Founder’s Day celebration in July that commemorates the Collette culture of philanthropy and volunteerism.

We are so proud of our team giving their time to such a worthy organisation. To learn more about Willow Tree Centre and the good things they are doing, visit their website.
