The Collette travel experience was wonderful! The tour manager was very good, the food was excellent, and the hotels were convenient and comfortable.

We had excellent local guides during our tour. Also, the transportation to and from the airport was first-rate.

The historic towns and hotels were the best. The smaller town local tours were fun, informative, and the right length of time.

Hamburg was disappointing. The "estates" on the lake cruise were not that easy to see or spectacular in nature. The Beatles Tour would be better as an optional for the amount of time and info provided. Not a big Beatles fan - don't bother.

Customer service reps I have dealt with were all very pleasant and efficient.

Loved the tour. Pedro was such an excellent guide. I was enchanted by the fairy tale aspect of the tour, but wish we had more time to go into Rapunzel's tower. Otherwise it was wonderful.

Collette's service representatives were a pleasure to deal with -- very helpful and knowledgeable, both in making arrangements for the tour, and in resolving some airline issues which occurred right before we left.

The tour was an extremely well-planned and well-executed 12 days in Germany, and we enjoyed it very much.

On the whole the service is excellent. Hotels are a cut above the usual tourist hotels. Generally, the tour manager are excellent, the local guides are good, T and the pace is good. The car service to the airport is a BIG benefit. Office staff is courteous and efficient.

Generally the tour hit all the highlight except the missing component of classical music while in the homeland of much of it. other forms of music were featured but not classical. Tour manager had some facts wrong.

Really enjoyed the background and history conveyed to us for each location by the tour manager. Enjoyed ALL hotels. Could have skipped the fairy tale stuff :-)

We had troubles - as we booked with one understanding of our air fare - and then had to stand up for it - as Collette wanted to change it. Fortunately - we paid the amount we had originally agreed upon.

Loved being in Rottenberg - with the locals giving wine tasting, bakery treats, and night watch men tours. The Christmas ornament store was delightful as well.

1. Although the hotels are fine I was disappointed in their location. They were not close to the historic center. 2. I was not notified of the change in the Berlin hotel. The driver at the airport told us. Naturally that caused concern and inconvenience as we had planned our day based on the location of the hotel. 3. Most disappointing was the fact that on the two collette tours I have taken, collette was not able to obtain tickets for the major sightseeing location ( Alhambra palace and neuschwanstein castle.) inexcusable.

1. Location of most hotels was poor 2 no notice of a change in hotel 3. Collette could not get tickets for main attraction (neuschwanstein castle).

My wife and I took the Classic and Romantic Tour of Germany. We usually do Europe on our own but there were so many areas in Germany we wanted to see that we tried a Collette tour. First of all there were 35 guests on the tour which was far too many. (I was aware this was a possibility, but it slowed the tour and made quick stops for photo ops impossible.) In Berlin, in particular, the tour of the city was primarily in the bus. As we were speeding past sights, unless you were in the window seat on the correct side of the bus, you saw nothing. Following this bus tour, there was inadequate free time to explore. Actually, if you chose the optional tour of Potsdam as we did, there was no free time. The tours in the small towns and cities were very nice and informative and was everything we hoped for with one exception. Kassel was a waste of time. The Sleeping Beauty castle we were supposed to see was closed for renovations. We saw a rather stupid skit about Sleeping Beauty. The Grimm Brothers Museum had to do more with their German dictionary than their compilation of fairy tales and was of no interest to anyone who was not German. This city should be skipped! On a positive note, our tour director and all of the local guides were all very good and knowledgeable. One other comment, the Holocaust was a major defining event in modern German history. The Holocaust Memorial or the Jewish Museum or both should have been included on the tour.

Yes, I would definately recommend Collette. My only suggestion would be to mic the tour guide on the bus with the radios for those of us that are hearing impaired as well as using the bus mic for the normal hearing. Using the radios really made the information transmit clearer for me.

Enjoyed all. Probably would not return to Berlin but glad I saw once. Absolutely loved Hamburg & surprisingly the port tour as well.. Such a clean city & port. Really like the quaint small towns & historic sites. I have to mention the skill of our bus driver, Emanuele. He got us around some heavy traffic jams & kept the timeline in a very smooth manner! Very polite & helpful as well.

This was one of the Best Tours we have done. Nicole Rosch was excellent - she was personable, funny, and she gave us lots of extra little facts that most don't. She always had a treat for us just when we needed it to, which was nice. Couldn't ask for better. Emiliano was the best bus driver ever too! The whole trip was great!

Lubeck, Hamburg, and Rothenburg were my favorites. Guided Visit of Wurzburg Redsidenz was excellent - the tour guide for this was outstanding. The tour guide in Hamburg of the Beatles start was excellent too. Loved the leaning city gate into Lubeck; the wall around Rothenburg and all the gate entrances. The Neuschwanstein Castle and the bridge to the castle were amazing - how did they get the materials to build that castle to that location (and the bridge).

Collette Tours were over the top! We were so impressed with our dealings with Collette, from start to finish. My first phone call to Collette was so welcoming and informative that I decided at that point in time that we were going to look more closely at what Collette Tours had to offer for our needs . I needed to know whether Collette would honor the ARTA discount which is offered Alberta Retired Teachers' Association and within minutes the person I was put on hold with, returned with a definite "yes, indeed". And, informed me that Collette was offering an additional discount due to its anniversary celebration. Well, I was hooked! Every phone call I made to clarify additional information, whether it was regarding pricing for optional tours, or pick up arrangement, etc. I always came away with total satisfaction that Collette really cared and wanted our vacation to be as flawless as possible and would meet our budget needs. When we were on the Germany tour, we were very impressed with the service Collette provided its travellers. We have travelled extensively and Collette surpassed our expectations! It was the really thoughtful add-ons that really impressed, such as the people doing the local tours were actually dressed for the part & took on the persona of the stories we were being told. i.e. the pied piper, the Grimm brother, the local gal that told the Beatles story who played & sang their songs at the venues, and so many more. Our tour director Luigi from Italy and bus driver Ameliano, were again the best we have ever encountered in all our travels. They really deserve to be commended. Our only suggestion, which was also discussed amongst others on the tour, was the number of location dinners that were offered by Collette Tours could be increased. When the tour is at a location for 2 nights, one of the nights should be a group dinner. It was such an enjoyable event to go out as a group for dinner to a local venue which served local delicacies. The tour was fabulous and we are now looking at other tours Collette is offering so we just might travel again soon. Thank you to everyone at Collette Tours who made our trip an event to remember. Our tour was very well organized and provided us with quality hotels and tour guides.

Appreciated my tour guide Luigi and driver Emiliano. I am an older woman traveling alone. I was well aware how thoughtfully they were able to keep me engaged and safe. Always a smile and a kind playful word. We had a wonderful group of bus mates only 22 but diversified in age and background. Every single person brought something special to the experience. The variation of the tour was enjoyable from the historical relevance of Berlin and Munich to the fanciful local tour by Jacob Grimm.

I 'm crazy for the tour in Hamburg in The Beatles old stomping grounds. The local guide was informative and entertaining. She sang for us! I also enjoyed the tour at the Museum of Torture and Punishment in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. very interesting to hear the difference. I would confess immediately and go straight to the punishment.

More free time. Excellent tour director and driver. Too much time on the bus. Loved the Beatle tour in Hamburg! Would liked to have had more time in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich. Brothers Grimm museum was a waste of time.

Expected more for the price we paid. Collette tours are just like everyone else only more expensive.

The tour guide was wonderful. Several hotel rooms were a safety hazard And did not have air conditioning. These rooms were sweltering. The tour left too early many mornings which impacted the traveling enjoyment negatively. The restaurants included were not where I would dine. The food was awful and didn't allow for special needs.

Several hotel rooms were safety hazards. Wood was were coming down along the side of the beds so it was hard to move around in the room. and they were so low that I banged my several rooms were sweltering hot, and we could not breathe .One concierge closed shop At 9 pm and no one there to help. The Shower did not work in one hotel room. The restaurants had awful food with little options. Many departures were too early and negatively impacted our sleep and enjoyment Of the tour.

Everything went perfect as usual! This is our 5th time to travel with Collette, and have seen each time what they do for you and how they handle their customers. We are working on our next trip. Italy!!! Thank you Collette

Germany was wonderful the scenery in the Alps at the Eagles Nest was the most majestic I have ever seen.

Perfect in every way! Sedan service convenient! Nice variety of hotels- resorts to in- town family hotels. Local guides were knowledgeable and experienced. Itinerary well selected and planned. Breakfasts were all exceptional. Local dinners were interesting part of the culture. I like a FULL itinerary! Thanks

Lodging, meals, itinerary, guides all met my ( high) expectations. I also like an informed tour manager who can share insights into the people, education, agriculture, economy and history while we are traveling. The variety of hotels and dinner destinations are great. I personally like a full schedule to see and experience as much as possible in a short time! Thanks for planning a seamless trip!

Having a small group was a bonus. Luigi was the best tour guide of the 4 Collette tours we have been on.

Hamburg and the Beatles tour...

This was a fun tour. There was a lot of walking on the tour plus lots of steps especially at the Castle. I did not go into the castle because of the steps. Both **** and ***** were excellent. Both were extremely patient and helpful. Never saw either of them lose their temper or become cross with anyone. Very friendly people. Having pick up service at our door and delivery to the airport was very nice. The drivers were excellent and were on time at all places. Nice not having to worry about parking a car at the airport.

Would have liked more time at the Grimm Brother Museum. Loved Lubeck and Bremen. Would have liked more free time in these places as well. Could skip Sleeping Beauty's Castle. The Neuschweinstein Castle was a waste of time. Because of the steps, I did not go inside. Too many people there. Can see its beautif from the outside.

The tour manager, Luigi, and the bus driver, Luca, were just superb. They were very helpful every day. Neither displayed any frustrations or discontent. They were unflapable.

In general all aspects were educational, entertaining, and enjoyable. I would like to see dropping the castle tour for Sleeping Beauty and allowing more time at the Grimm Museum. It is a very informative museum and and visitors could use more time there. One more point. Because the Neuswanstein castle runs 6000 people a day through it each visitor gets approximately 25-30 minutes inside. Each group going through is too large for most people to really see much. I cannot recommend anyone spending one half a day to see so little. However the Castle is quite a sight and viewing it from below is sufficient.

Easy to book the tour. Good communications with office and travel staff before the trip. Didn't have any issues with our airport transfers or with the Collette team while on the tour itself.

The itinerary was good for traveling with a teen because there wasn't a big emphasis on visiting museums, cathedrals, palaces or other historical sites. There were just a few of those visits to make the trip seem well-rounded and a good amount of free time to wander around on our own. We had a great tour director and a nice, fairly small group of fellow travelers. Most of the hotels were very nice and the included meals were very good. Really liked a few of the local tours, such as in Hamburg, Hamelin and Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Did not enjoy the big city overview bus tours, however. It was frustrating to whiz past places where we would have liked to stop and explore. Would have preferred to see fewer sights in those cities and focus on just a handful of highlights.

We don't understand why Berlin and the Hamburg Beatles thing were on our Romantic/Fairy-tale Road tour. Neither seemed to have anything to do with the tour. We would have preferred one (or both) to be eliminated and more nights/days added to Hameln,,..... where we got to experience a delightful hour or so with the Pied Piper,... but arrived so late (NOT the tour's fault!!!) due to heavy traffic, that we had no time to wander through the village, exploring and shopping, and all the shops were closed after our colorful 'leader' bid us farewell. We left the next morning. All Hotels were fine. Our tour Director, *Personal Details removed by Feefo* is a pure delight. We traveled with her in the past on a 'Trains of Switzerland' tour. She is extremely knowledgeable, cheerful, professional. She is one of the two Best Tour Directors we've ever been under the guidance/care of when traveling. ! A true gem. That said,.... Berlin is boring. flat, industrialized, and architecturally boring. We love Germany for the timber-framed Medieval structures,... as life-long Medieval reenactors,..... Berlin was not what we went for,... nor was Hamburg and the Beatles. The tour would have gotten 5 stars, if not for those two things/places

The Pied Piper. He was enchanting !!!!! and funny / fun. Next, Daniel, the Night's Watchman at Rothenberg. (sweet, fun, and endearing) Rothenberg is our Favorite place in Germany. We've been there twice before,.. so was a definite reason for our choosing this tour.

Everything was well planned. It was an intense trip. Six hotels in 10 days. A lot of riding on the bus.

This was our third Collette tour, and we have been really pleased. Our tour guides and bus drivers have been very professional and good at their jobs. We have had some amazing experiences on our tours.

The Beatles tour, the Pied Piper and Neuschwanstein Castle were our favorites.

I would definitely recommend! One thing that would been nice is let us order from the full menu in restaurants (a few times) as it was too much the same from one resto to the next. Time in Malburg was too short as we didn't have time to have a feeling of Tha city and was a bit long in Rothenberg. Other then that it was top notch! Thanks for making my trip memorable!
