Enjoy a morning tour of the quaint Kornic Ethnographic Collection, where you will tour a two-story family house. Complete with antique furniture, utensils, and tools, the home reflects a bygone era where family members farmed, cooked, cleaned, sewed, and performed all housekeeping duties by hand. You will then travel to Punat, a village located in a serene and well-protected bay that has served as a safe-haven for ships, fishermen, and sailors for centuries. It is also home to the oldest and largest marina on the Adriatic Sea. From Punat, you’ll embark on a taxi-boat and head to the small, but beautiful, island of Košljun — an island covered by dense forest and over 400 different species of mushrooms. The centerpiece of our visit to Košljun is the pristine fifteenth-century Franciscan monastery. Inside, a dazzling collection of folk costumes and rare Glagolitic manuscripts awaits.

Start your day with two world-famous attractions as you make your way to the Predjama Castle and Postojna Cave. The mysterious Predjama Castle has been firmly perched in the middle of a 123-meter-high cliff for over 800 years and boasts an elegant exterior that's complimented by views of the Lokva River. After taking in sights in and around the castle, board a coach for a 20-minute ride to Postojna Cave. With an audio guide, venture to the Great Mountain cavern by an electric cave train where you'll wander by foot and marvel at the caverns filled with unique pillars, columns, and large dangling icicles. Continue across the Russian Bridge to the awe-inspiring caves filled with two million years' worth of stalagmites. Venture towards Black Cave and Pivka Cave, then end your experience at the Concert Hall - the largest room in the tunnel system that can accommodate 10,000 people and is often used for musical performances. After you've cured your curiosity, sit down for a traditional Slovenian lunch to cure your appetite before heading back to Portoroz in the afternoon.
