Mississauga, ON (April 15 2017) – Collette, global tour operator, is pleased to offer its South Africa Impact Tour itinerary for 2017 featuring the Featherbed Nature Reserve, the Knysna Community and Cape Town. The tour will take place on September 1st-9th, 2017.

Highlights include:

• 9 days discovering the beauty and culture of South Africa while enjoying the opportunity to give back to those in need.

• Begin your tour in the scenic coastal city of Cape Town, where you will be captivated by the architecture inspired by traditions of the French, German, and Dutch.

• Embark on a cable car ride that will bring you to an altitude of 3,000 feet to Table Mountain, where you will experience breathtaking views of Cape Town, Robben Island, and

Lion’s Head.

• Take part in a lesson on the djembe drums and participate in a soothing hand washing ceremony before experiencing a communal African dinner.

• Embark on a journey to the resort town of Knysna, while stopping along the Garden Route in the Aloe Ferox region to enjoy an aloe-tapping demonstration.

• Embrace the opportunity to volunteer in a variety of ways through The Knysna Education Trust and assisting a community outreach program.

• Spend a day at a school funded by The Knysna Education Trust and learn how the children benefit from both the trust and the Collette Foundation.

• Choose your volunteer activity for a day with a variety of options such as taking part in a reading activity, assisting with a lesson plan or helping the children with an education craft, helping to paint a school mural, or assisting in maintenance in one of the eating gardens that the children of Knysna depend on.

• Independently explore the beautiful waterfront area of Knysna.

• Visit the Featherbed Nature Reserve, beginning by embarking on a lagoon cruise to the famous Knysna Heads.

• Travel deep into the forest on a 4x4 vehicle and discover the local flora and fauna during a leisurely paced walk.

• Enjoy a lunch amongst the ancient milkwood trees.

• Visit a remote village to present the locals with Hippo Rollers on behalf of the Collette Foundation. Hippo Rollers are an innovative design that significantly reduces the intensity of labor when collecting water, providing a much more efficient and better access to water.

• Embark on a journey to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of South Africa, where you will enjoy a guided tour of one of the oldest working ostrich farms in the area.

• Set off on a tractor safari through the ostrich farm in the Lucerne fields, where you will have the opportunity to view the ostriches in various stages of development.

• Journey to the heart of the beautiful winelands region, where you will have the opportunity to experience the colorful surrounding mountains and endless vineyards.

• Learn about the struggles of the local community and volunteer for a program that focuses on the needs of the children who live in the Western Cape region of Stellenbosch.

• Enjoy a walking tour of Stellenbosch, one of the oldest European settlements in the region.
