When Jack Collette started Collette Tours in 1918, World War I had just ended, the Red Sox had won the World Series and porterhouse steak was a mere 54 cents per pound.

The first tour Collette ever offered meanwhile was on a jitney bus that took travelers from Boston to Florida. The three-week adventure cost just $68.50
