Tour Activity Level
The activity level for this tour:
You’re a leisurely traveler. You like to discover the energy of a new place, but typically take it easy. You can handle at least one flight of stairs, board a coach, and walk for 15-30 minutes at a time with little difficulty.
You like a balanced approach to travel. You feel confident walking at least 30-45 minutes at a time over a variety of terrains – from cobblestones streets to easy straightaways to a couple hills or flights of stairs. You’re comfortable walking a few city blocks at a time, but need some time to unwind and relax.
You’re an on-the-go traveler. You don’t want to miss a thing, so walking and standing for longer periods of time (1-2 hours) isn’t a big deal. You can navigate hills and uneven ground, climb into various modes of transportation (tuk-tuk, cable car, zodiac, etc.), and could possibly anticipate changes in elevation. You can expect some longer days balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure.
You’re ready to seize the day, whatever it may bring. You lead an active life at home (walking, biking, and hiking are things you may enjoy) and few thousand steps a day isn’t out of the norm. You can handle longer walking tours (more than 90 minutes), traversing dusty or uneven terrain, standing for periods of time, varying altitudes and temperatures, and don’t mind being on the go with some early starts, late-night experiences, and full days. Unfortunately, this level is not appropriate for individuals who use wheelchairs or walkers.

TourIt was a busy busy vacation. Not much downtime to rest and explore the area we were in. Didn't care for the early morning departures. Anything 8:00 a.m. and after would have been better. I love touring and seeing it all but in my opinion the tour to Pisa, outside of seeing Pisa, was a waste of time. An hour would have been sufficient as there is nothing else there. A coastal tour would have been great as I understand we were near the sea.

TourI absolutely loved this tour! Siena and San Gimignano were the highlights. The cooking class was a lot of fun as were the wine and cheese tours. I would have preferred less time in Pisa, an hour (two tops) would have sufficed. Our tour manager,, Alessandro Bindi, could not have been better. He was patient, kind and so knowledgeable. He was a pleasure to vacation with!

TourThis Tuscany trip was wonderful! Being able to stay the entire trip at one hotel in the center of town, Montecatini, was perfect. Each day excursion was planned perfectly with enough free time to explore on our own. The optional tour to Cinque Terra was a great addition.

TourThe tour experience overall was excellent. My only complaint is that we were told to buy COVID tests to use before we could return. I got extras in case something didn't work. I was left with $75 worth of COVID tests and also paid to have one done onsite. Our guide actually told us that they had been doing the onsite tests for awhile. My suspicion is that we were sent outdated paperwork. That is something that could be avoided.

Fell in Love with Italy
-
ServiceThe tour of Tuscany made us feel as though we were part of the villages as we learned about their history & enjoyed the cultures. We became captivated by the beautiful hills, mountains, countryside & architecture. Colette tours was well-organized & our tour manager & coach driver were so very professional and fun!
-
TourVisiting San Gimigano & it's absolutely gorgeous countryside & village. Also, seeing the leaning tower of Pisa in person gave me goose bumps!
-
-
Fantastic tour director and busdriver
-
ServiceThe only thing i did not like was the amount of walkiing As a Senior with the addition of COPD it was very difficult for me and quite a few of the others. The tour director was so knowledgeable and he was a joy yo be around .

Fabulous, exciting, awesome
-
ServiceThe tour of Tuscany Italy was awesome, well planned. Yvanka was fabulous and so informative; and kept everyone on time, the individual tour guides were so informative and knowledgeable.
-
TourThe overall tour was the absolute best. Sienna was my favorite spot along with San Gimigano.
-
-
For first trip to Italy, all details went very well
-
ServiceAll details before and during the trip went well. Lufthansa went on strike the day we were to travel and all tickets got switched in a satisfactory way to BA. Tour manager Pilar was A1.
-
TourFrom the ground transportation in CO to the airport and all other details were timely and without incident.
-
-
Very efficient and well done.
-
ServiceBus was very comfortable...had a great driver. Enjoyed Carlo & the tour of Lucca, & especially the tour of the Gothic Line & bunker. Our guide for the week, Pilar, was exceptional! Very informative, helpful, & fun!
-
TourThe cooking class was a lot of fun...really enjoyed that! Learning about the contradas in Sienna was very interesting. Learning about the Gothic Line & seeing the museum & bunker was also very interesting. So appreciative we were able to stop at a military cemetery as well.

ServiceI have done a fair amount of international traveling but never with a tour, and fortunately my first time out was with Collette. "Spotlight on Tuscany" was literally a trip of lifetime, and for future trips I will always make sure the trip has been planned by Collette. The Tour Manager was fantastic, as was our bus driver, hotel, and day trips. I shall never forget it - thank you!
-
TourIt's difficult to cite my favorite experience but at the top are: Montecatini Alto and Cinque Terre. But then Florence, Luca, Pisa, Siena, and trips to both a working farm to make our own dinner, plus the tour of a 7th-generation vineyard and olive grove were fantastic, too!
-
-
Now must return to see Cinque Terra
-
ServiceDue to weather cancellation of the excursion trip to Cinque Terra they were able to substitute a trip to Bologne. Weather was not the best (rainy) but better than 100 degree temps and overly dry.
-
TourWeather was not something they could control. For rainy season please try to set something up for center city travel when there is persistent downpoors of rain. Selected good highlights of the city and gave ample time for individual tour time in each city.

Tuscany cities, a day at a time.
-
ServiceIt was well organized and well run. Our day trips were planned with very good local guides. Attention was paid to details and it made a difference. The tour manager was really ‘on top of things’, needing to adjust plans due to traffic, weather, etc.
-
TourSpending time in Pisa and getting free time to explore the city.
-
-
Excellent service from start to finish!
-
ServiceFrom the moment the trip reservation was made until I arrived home on my doorstep I was given unfailing attention and service.
-
TourWould have been 5 stars but we hit the rainy season which put a bit of a ‘damper’ on some of our activities.
-
-
The best way to travel !
-
ServiceEverything was done with great thought, my first but not my last Collette tour! Loved every moment, every tour guide; our personal guide and driver were the best!
-
TourBecause even though the weather was wet and cold, the guide made the best of everything
-
-
Would not recommend for folks who cannot walk several miles at a time.
-
ServiceFirst, your info at registration does not adequately disclose the level of physical activity needed for participation. Next, far too much time spent on buses. There must be a location more central to areas visited or change hotels during trip.
-
TourSee earlier review. Pisa was fascinating.
Thank you for traveling with Collette on our Discover Tuscany tour. We're very sorry to hear about the issues you experienced with the pacing of the tour and the itinerary. ServiceTour manager Alexa was an absolute pleasure to travel with. Extremely knowledgeable and entertaining while helping us have an amazing vacation. I would love to travel with her as tour manager again some time. the City Guides were also wonderful. lots of walking in the rain, but enjoyed every minute!

-
ServiceWe had a great group of fellow Collete travelers and our Collete agent in Italy was great. The weather was not always that great though which had nothing to do with Collete. I would have liked a little more free time in the various cities we traveled to each day. One of my favorite activities was locating a small Bistro or restaurant to each lunch. My sister and I never had a bad meal!
-
TourIf there would have been less rain, I would have given the tour an excellent. We were unable to attend the train ride due to poor weather conditions as well. The group dinners were good but the Bistro's and restaurants that we found for lunch were better plus we could order what we wanted to try.
-
-
-
ServiceOur flights were not very well planned out - we had long layovers and the Allitalia flight from JFK to Rome was a very old plane and very uncomfortable - the flight from CDG to Cincinnatti on Delta was very nice however.
-
TourClaudia Mora was wonderful and so knowledgeable about the history or the Tuscan region; the motor coach was very nice and comfortable with an outstanding driver; some of the local tours were too long on detail and information that I would never remember - just the highlights please!
-
-
Even rainy tours can be fun.
-
ServiceSibila Cincotti (Guide) was very knowledgeable and entertaining. She took any requests, changes or mishaps in stride and ensured all were informed of what would be happening each day. Gianni (Driver) was professional and skilled driving a very large vehicle safely on what were at times tight and twisting roads. Both would be recommended again. Local guides were interesting and knowledgeable.
-
TourThe sites were amazing. The weather didn't cooperate, but everyone else did. Siena was very interesting regarding the background on the contradas and their annual competition. It impressed me that people live in constantly uphill towns and embrace the natural lay of the land. The history of feuding between towns and eventual unification was something I didn't know about Tuscany. Beautiful scenery could be found even while driving down the highways.

A tour of Italy
-
ServiceThis was a once in a lifetime trip, with such beautiful country to visit. Our tour guide was great, very knowledgeable....and many cudos to our phenomenal bus driver. The only way to visit a different country is on a tour, with friends!! However, would have been nice to have a rep at connecting airport because our flight got cancelled, and we had to maneuver the situation by ourselves.
-
TourThe Leaning Tower of Pisa, the historical sites and cities, the fun options, such as the cooking class, all wonderful.
-
-
Stunningly beautiful!
-
ServiceAt Your rates are reasonable. Our tour director was knowledgeable & fun! All of the tour guides had so much wonderful information to share.
-
TourAll of the places we went had such lovely people that we interacted with. Cooking class was so much fun!! All the food that was prepared for us was excellent. The organic cheese farm was interesting.
-
-
Wonderful experience.
-
ServiceGreat choice of excursions. Heather was a delight and so knowledgeable.
-
TourThe tours were fun and so informative. I especially enjoyed Siena and the cooking experience.
-
-
-
ServiceThe guide, Mara, was outstanding. My friend had unexpected problems walking. Mara would call a taxi to take my friend and I to the next meeting place. This was done a few times. Mara was always pleasant so my friend felt okay to still be part of the tour group. It was so important to my friend to go to each of the cities retracing the steps she and her deceased husband had traced years before.
-
TourThere was a lot to do and a lot of walking. My favorite experience was going by boat to the villages by the Sea. I wished for more time there. Is there any trip that has just that experience? Maybe staying overnight or 2 nights? The local expert guide was excellent for that experience. Thank you for her.
-
-
Good value
-
ServiceGood value for the money. We enjoyed seeing the major cities in Tuscany, and having time, on our own, to experience local restaurants, etc.
-
TourWe loved being able to see Cinque Terre, especially by boat.
-
-
Mixed feelings
-
ServiceThe guides were great as was the bus driver in Italy. It would be nice to have had a little more info regarding the daily schedule prior to the trip. I was disappointed by the reaction and response when I asked for that info prior to departure. I would have liked more input on the flight schedule. The group left at different times, with ours leaving the hotel at 4:00 am.
-
TourTour guides were great. Pace was challenging for some in the group.
-
-
Great trip
-
ServiceExcellent planning, local guides were great, especially the one when we visited Lucca.
-
TourLeaning Tower of Pisa and Cinque Terre
-
-
-
ServiceThe tour was well organized and the guides were wonderful. We craved more free time to just enjoy the town where we stayed. After the fact, we realized we like the smaller cities best and were overwhelmed by the crowds in Florence. Seeing the David was a highlight but we were more than ready to leave the city. Maybe that day trip could be optional. The best parts of the trip were the visits to the farms where we did the cooking and enjoyed the winery and dairy farm. Pisa was wonderful as well as San Gimignano and Siena. We could have spent more time seeing the scenery around San Gimignano and maybe a chance to do some photography of the beautiful countryside. These are just my suggestions.

ServiceOur tour manager, Mara Ravelli, was fantastic. She was personable, friendly and well organized. She was very knowledgeable about the locations we visited. The bus driver, Biagio, was an excellent driver. We arrived on time everywhere we went and he drove us safely and with confidence. The local guides were entertaining and informative.
-
TourThe tour was just what we wanted. It was a good mix of large group touring and small group experiences. We particularly enjoyed the cooking class, the private wine tasting and the Contrada tour in Siena.
-
-
-
ServiceMara was fabulous, the local tour guides were knowledgable and interesting and the bus driver was excellent and very skilled.
-
TourI enjoyed all of the cities but the boat ride and the 5 cities were great. Being able to go to the horse chapel was awesome and special.
-
-
Memories never forgotten!
-
ServiceThis was an excellent experience. My days were full of adventure guided by area experts. Our Tour Manager, Mara was very patient and friendly. She made the entire trip so memorable. To have this many people that bonded and enjoyed each others company was just amazing. Not only did we spend everyday with this group but our evenings were filled with wine, relaxation and camaraderie. This was the best trip ever!
-
TourThe tours provided memories that I did not expect. The culture, the country sides and the quaint towns we absolutely amazing.
-
-
I'm glad that the location is safe for walking anytime.
-
ServiceI felt Collette was a very well run travel group, but Katheleen our guide was a little unorganized. I had been on a similar trip with Trafagar in 2011 with my husband. Pretty much went to the same towns but different places. I can never figure out why we drive so far to go somewhere when we could stay closer to our location and enjoy time there!!! I'm sure there are vineyards close by also that we could visit.
-
TourI liked that I could take a day and do somethng on my own because I felt safe in our area. Slower pace!!!
-
-
-
ServiceEverything on our tour ran seamlessly. If there were issues, they were handled promptly. I would definitely choose Collette for our next trip.
-
TourThe schedule was well designed. We had free time every day. Loved the "extra" things like a stop at an organic farm and the U.S. American cemetery
-
-
-
ServiceSites we visited were remarkable. Local guides were very knowledgeable and informative. We just needed a little more time at each site for meals and independent sightseeing and shopping. Our bus driver was excellent maneuvering the narrow roads.
-
TourLoved the entire tour. Extremely happy that I included the optional excursions as they were fantastic. Also could have used a little more time for exploring the local town around the hotel.

-
TourI enjoyed the whole experience of the Tuscany Tour!
-
-
-
ServiceMara and David the driver took very good care of us. The hotel was good, but had bathroom issues. The tours were very good. I would have rather visited more vineyards and skipped the leather goods stop and the gold store also was unnecessary.
-
TourMara and David the driver took very good care of us. Hotel was good, except for the bathrooms which were awkward. Tours were good except for the leather and gold sales stops. I would have preferred more vineyard or park stops.
-
-
Great experience and I will do it again when touring another city.
-
ServiceThe tour Manager was fantastic. She was energetic, helpful and funny. All local guides were very knowledgeable. Without them, I would have just wandered around, seeing things but not knowing the history behind them. I highly recommend going in a group with tour guides.
-
TourEverything was great. I had a good time.

Great experience
-
ServiceMy booking as well as many questions that I had were answered by my tour leader, Don, from the CRTA. I did, however have to contact Collette once to clarify our excursion purchase and the lady I spoke to was amazing!! She not only helped to ensure that we were signed up for both optional excursions, but was also able to give some great advise on different parts of the tour, such as making sure you have comfortable shoes for the Cinque Terre excursion. She also told me to be sure to download the Collette app for even more information about our tour. (I do wish that I would have explored the app a bit more before going on the trip because I did not use it to it's full advantage. I really appreciated the package sent out before my trip that included an itinerary booklet, as well as tips and pointers about travel in Italy. It also had a luggage tag, name tag, a pen and some other items in a nice leather zippered book-sized case.
-
TourI really enjoyed the variety of sites this tour offered as well as the convenience of having to only unpack once. Choosing a central hotel to stay at and going on day trips made this tour quite enjoyable and relaxing. Our tour guide Antonella was amazing, and our driver Pio was great. The local guides were very knowledgeable and added that personal touch to the tour. I am still awestruck at the beauty of this area, both natural and man-made and look forward to exploring more of Italy in the near future.
-
-
Too much to see in one trip.
-
ServiceThis is my 4th tour with Collette. All of my previous experiences have been very positive. This one, not so much. The breadth of the tour is just too inclusive. It's just not possible to see all of Tuscany in 6 days. In fact, I was really hoping for more of the cultural experience - the food and the wine - than all the sightseeing. It would be better to have been a bit more selective. Granted if you go to Tuscany you have to go to Florence but I could have experienced the sights just as well in a video. Continuous walking from one attraction to another without having time to appreciate any of them for more than a few minutes is really not the experience I would have liked. Yup, I saw the outside of the Duomo; yup, I saw the Ponte Vecchio from a distance; yup, I walked past the Baptistry and yup, I walked past the David. Okay, check those things off my" bucket list" and now on to the next stop. And that was just Day One... Our tour manager certainly knew Tuscany, he's a native, and he was personable but his management skills were not up to my previous experiences with Collette. Each day's departure times were always subject to change and were announced the evening before. That makes trying to plan ahead and organize for the next day somewhat difficult. Keeping track of all the members of the group was kind of fluid as well. I had difficulty keeping up with the quick pace of the group and pointed out my slowness to the manager asking that he at least be mindful of the fact that I was bringing up the rear of line. Unfortunately, I got left behind at one stop because he lost sight of me. The bus left without me. I was able to catch a cab and return to the hotel but I think I caused some concern and certainly raised the awareness of the manager and the group as a whole going forward. The experience should at least highlight the fact that there needs to be better communication should something actually have happened. The local guides were knowledgeable, but again there is just too much to absorb all at once. We had the same bus driver for the entire tour and he was very good. On each of the other tours the manager required everyone to change seats each day. This manager did not and the same people sat with the same people in the same place each day. A little awkward for me and several others as we were travelling alone. It was very nice to be based in the same hotel for the entire trip and the hotel was actually better than some I have experienced on other Collette tours. (There was individually controlled heat and air for one.) The food was certainly adequate.
-
TourNot as good as my previous experience with Collette. What I'll remember most is getting left behind in Lucca. Too much to try to do in one tour.
Thank you for traveling with Collette on our Spotlight on Tuscany tour and for providing us with a thorough review of your experience on tour with us. We're very sorry to hear about the issues you experienced. Your feedback will be reviewed by the Product Design and Tour Management Team's so that the overall touring experience for our guests can be improved.

ServiceThe Tour Manager, Antonella Regi is truly the Best!! Antonella's expertise & kindness was most appreciated. She gave me a comfortable tour filled with so much wonderful knowledge & very good experiences every day.
-
TourI do not have a favorite. Each day that we went on tour in Tuscany everything was excellently executed & well organized.
-
-
-
ServiceOur tour mgr, Antonella, was GREAT she was informative, helpful, caring and fun!! All the local guides were wonderful too - I feel I learned a lot about Tuscany.
-
TourAll was very good - Collette did a great job in all aspects of the tour and I would probably use them again should I choose group travel. I will of course recommend them to anyone wishing to travel in a group. Hard to pick a favorite because I loved it all - the cooking class was the most fun, Loved Lucca and Sienna (smaller towns - less people) the Cinque Terra trip was memorable because of the frenzie of the train travel....too many people for me and only saw 2 of the 5 villages. Florence would have liked to have seen other museums and the Porta Vecchio bridge - but too many people....The business class upgrade opportunity was wonderful and I would do that again.
-
-
overview of Tuscany and daily field trips were wonderful
-
ServiceOutstanding tour guide and local guides in the cities we visited. One hotel was also greatly appreciated. Local restaurants were exceptional
-
Touroutstanding knowledge and history of the region by well informed guides.
-
-
-
ServiceFrom presentation to actual tour, most expectations are either met or exceeded. The tour guide/manager Antonella Regi was very well versed and knowledgeable to the places where she took us, expanding on the renaissance history and the present relationships of these areas and cities. Our visit to different organic farms has extended the bonds between local farmers and tourists to taste the atmosphere and warm welcome of the small time farmers around the Tuscan region.

Mariangela, Best Tour Guide EVER!
-
ServiceMariangela Carozzi was informative, clear in her instructions and absolutely fun on a tour of Tuscany. Her ability to manage a group of 41 women was phenomenal. There were many challenges and she handled them with patience and grace. Our safety was her number one concern. From the bus ride, to navigating the cities of Italy, she equipped us with all the information we needed to stay safe and keep our belongings safe also. She adjusted the itinerary due to the extremely hot temperatures. I cannot say enough about the stellar view I have on Collette Tours solely because of Mariangela. Thank you for having such a dedicated employee on your staff.
-
TourDinner at the Villa. An evening at a Tuscan village, with the most delicious food and wine. Music was an Italian singer. I felt like I was in the best dream ever.

ServiceI liked the tour but I think we didn’t have enough time in Pisa I would have enjoyed staying longer. In Clinique Terres, instead of stopping at two cities (locations) it would be better to stop in only one to give us more time to walk around and enjoy lunch without rushing. The boat ride was nice but the trip to Clinique Terres was less of what I expected. I did not like the train ride to Monticello we were shoved into the train like sardines and several others from our group did not get on the train with the rest of us.
-
TourClimbing to the top of the tower of Pisa with my Granddaughter. I especially liked Lucca and the tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and knew his history.. I like seeing the Germans WWll bunkers and museum.
-
-
Collette did a great job with offering us unique experiences in Tuscony
-
ServiceWe had some really nice tours. We went places where we were the only tour group present. The tour guides on those tours were really excellent.
-
TourThe tour to the gothic line was excellent. The tour guide was really knowledgeable and personable.
-
-
-
ServiceMain tour guide and all local guides very good.
-
TourBest city tour - Lucca. The cooking class night, the farm/cheese and winery/olive visits were great.
-
-
My trip was well organized and efficiently executed.
-
ServiceMy trip to Italy was well planned, organized and executed. It was a "worry-free" trip and I was able to see far more as part of the tour than I would have on my own. I would take another tour with Collette.
-
TourMy tour was planned from departure to our destination in Italy, 7 days of touring and activity through the return to the U.S. We enjoyed local food, wine and visiting ancient and historic sights. I actually got to have a photo taken at the Leaning Tower of Pisa, a lifelong dream.
-
-
Not what I expected.
-
ServiceThe tour manager did the best he could with being forced to try and manager a group twice the size of what it should have been. The local guides were great and the bus driver was fantastic.
-
TourAs for my overall experience, I was very disappointed. When I booked this tour, I believed the group size was only 24 people and that they would all be seniors. Instead you added more groups so there were over 40 people. That size is way too big! Also, in trying to find a hotel to accommodate that many people led to a substandard room. We had to stay for 8 days in a room that was horrible! The shower was LITERALLY 2 feet by 2 feet. I could not bend to get everything washed. This is not acceptable for a senior person. In addition, our room was on the street side where there were 2 restaurants that played loud music until late in the night. Horrible experience. Unfortunately, this overshadowed all the wonderful things that I experienced.
Thank you for traveling with Collette to Tuscany. We're sorry to hear about the issues you experienced on tour. Our 'Explore Tuscany' tour is part of our Classic style of tours and can have up to 45 guests on tour. The Explorations style of tours has a maximum of 24 guests. ServiceI had a great trip/tour with Collette. Tony Dominoe was a fantastic tour manager. He was informative and he shared his knowledge and appreciation of the Tuscany region. I would highly recommend Colette and Tony! The only downside of the trip was air travel over to Italy. JFK experience and Alitalia Airlines were not as pleasant.
-
TourThe tour was well organized. I loved Lucca and our local tour guide Carlo was excellent.
-
-
An amazing experience
-
ServiceI loved my tour of Tuscany. Our guide was very informative and I really enjoyed him telling us what life is like in Tuscany. He was also fun. The itinerary was great. It was a good mix of activities. Overall it was an amazing experience.
-
TourThis tour was amazing. I loved visiting the towns and hearing the history of each one. Each day was so fun it's hard to choose which is my most memorable experience. I think the most memorable part was meeting so many new people and sharing meals with them.
-
-
Lived thetrip. Smaller group for the ages that went would of been better.
-
ServiceService was great! The hotel, your guide and transportation provided was outstanding.
-
TourThe restaurants and cities chosen were excellent.
-
-
Good but not perfect.
-
ServiceI didn't like having to carry my own luggage to and from the limo to the airport terminals. I'm 68 y/o and found that too much. Also the limo broke down on our way home and we had an hour and half delay reaching our families at home. I also missed seeing the "people and culture" of Italy. I spent too much time with tourist and buses in parking lots. I did enjoy, very much the day at the dairy farm and the day at our cooking class. My travel companion had a lot of health issues and I felt like I was a nursemaid most of the time. She had booked the tour and I joined without realizing just how physical the walking would be. It was ok for me but trying to help her was exhausting. Not a relaxing vacation for me. The tour guides (especially Carlo in Lunna) were exceptional and the bus driver Pio, was wonderful will all of us. The hotel was good to us and went out of their way to make the experience what we needed.
-
TourNot what I expected, but I wasn't the one who booked it. Limo service very disappointing. Too physical for us retirees.
Thank you for traveling with Collette on our Spotlight on Tuscany tour. We're very sorry to hear about the issues you experienced on tour. Your feedback will be reviewed by the Logistics department so that the overall touring experience for our guests can be improved.

I absolutely love the tour guides and the endless knowledge and details they share with me throughout my journey!

TourFour years ago I traveled to Portugal with Colette, it was an amazing experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life! This year I signed up for the Tuscany excursion and it just blew my mind! I loved every minute of every single day! I can’t wait for my next adventure!!

Disappointing Tour of Florence
-
ServiceThe first day finds everyone recovering from long flights. So why do the largest city with a long rather boring tour? Then there was only a little over 2 hours to see any other site I. This large city. Better that Colette rethink this.
-
TourThe tour was only memorable because of how beautiful Tuscany is. The last nights dinner was memorable
-
-
Tuscany
-
ServiceThe tour had many exceptional experiences ie The trip to the cheese farm, the culinary school where we learned to make pasta & the vineyard where we got to walk through the garden & sample the wines & olive oil made there! The thing that could have been better is filtering the guests based on activity level. We walked nearly 6 miles each day in rough terrain and had to wait in several of the older guests that had trouble keeping up.. it was unusually warm and uncomfortable.
-
TourThe culinary school was the highlight
-
-
A consistently great experience!

ServiceAbsolutely great experience every time we have gone on a Collette tour. Our guide, Sergio was fabulous and so was our driver Daniel! The sites were fantastic and the food was amazing. Truly a fabulous experience.

ServiceTerrific Tour Guide Julio! Great food and entertainment, especially at the farm on the second night. Very thoughtful and interesting planning by Julio and the local guides he introduced us to. Hotel was very nice, our room was great. Wonderful, smooth bus rides thanks to our great driver. Appreciated the transportation to the airports. And the terrific driver and comfortable car for our return to Florence, Oregon
-
TourOur tour guide, Julio, was charming and funny.

-
-
ServiceIt was difficult to add a flight to the itinerary since i was not flying out of the original city. The tour manager was condescending and unhelpful especially toward the end of the tour.
-
TourAgain, not impressed with the tour manager. Missed several items on the tour that had been advertised as doing. The leather shop was closed since we went on Saturday. We didn't get to have the tour by boat to Cinque Terme since the weather was bad in the morning - should have delayed it by a few hours and didn't get to have the stop for appetizers and drinks as advertised. The tour manager was not flexible to adjust with weather when we could have had free time in the morning instead of the evening. He rushed us all the time on tour threatening not to give us a bathroom break. There were many things on the tour he should've told us that we had to find out on our on after the fact such as we could have used our train ticket to use the bathroom for free and we could have used the ticket for the cathedral to climb the tower for free. We were rushed through our end of tour dinner. He was in a hurry to get to his vacation with "friends". He didn't help anyone off the bus or get bags. He had us load our bags on the bus to depart. The hotel was ok. The water in the shower was either scalding or freezing. The food was ok for breakfast - same stuff everyday. The welcome dinner was poor. The tour day for Cinque Terme should have been included in the tour not an add on since there was nothing else scheduled for the day - just had to pay more!

ServiceThis is my fourth Collette tour and all have been well organized, had a wide variety of experiences and featured a well-versed tour leader as well as local guides. I have been very happy with the tours and will (and have) recommended Collette to friends and family. My one complaint is that the tours have more members than I would prefer. A limit of 20-25 would be better for logistical purposes.
-
TourEvery stop on the Tuscany tour had something to recommend it. It is difficult to select a single memorable experience. But I think that serendipitously running into a parade of folks from each contrada, dressed in their medieval garb, waving their flags and beating their drums in the city of Siena was thrilling.
-
-
-
-
ServiceI might buy again depending on itinerary. I would most likely arrange my own flights as this tour had too many stops.

ServiceThe tour guide did a great job. Took care of all our needs & was very knowledgeable. Drivers of couch we're great drivers. Need to provide water to guests free when needed.

TourIt was very good, new enjoyed it all. Our hotel stay had some minor hitches (small shower, very firm bed and wifi overly complicated) but basically it was well maintained, clean and breakfast were good.
-
-
-
ServiceOur tour in Florence was terrible. We didn’t have city tour or see the famous bridge the guide there was boring.
-
TourCollette gal was a little tart with us making me feel I was in first grade. She was a flirt. Not as professional as what I had experienced in past. Hotel was below expectations.

Incredible Tuscany Tour
-
ServiceThis Spotlight on Tuscany tour offered an incredible balance of both historic visits and cultural experiences. From the visits to Florence, Lucca and Siena to the cooking class, cheese farm visit and wine tasting - it was a top notch escorted tour. Collette Tour Managers are always so professional, experienced, friendly and knowledgeable. Our guide, Marco was awesome! I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience Tuscany and you stay the entire week in one hotel. Wonderful experience!
-
TourI so enjoyed the cooking class and the visit through the villages of Cinque Terre.
-
-
-
ServiceVery accessible to contact and have questions answered, however I was given the wrong time of a meeting due to East Coast versus central time.
-
TourVery good value for the price. It was so great to visit so many places. The tour guide, Marco, was extraordinary with his knowledge of the places we visited. He was also excellent in caring for the needs of the senior citizens. The tour was very well coordinated and the bus driver was amazing in his Ability to manage And drive the bus in the roads of Italy.

TourThe only problem with the tour was it was too short, there were so many things to do and places to see, and we always finished up wishing there was more time, the guide and driver were outstanding! Rather enjoyed our free day in Montacatini, with no time schedule.

ServiceThis was my second Collette tour and I am very pleased with them. I will definitely be taking more of their tours.
-
TourTheir was a lot packed into the 8 days and I enjoyed all - the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I would have liked a little more time on my own in each of the towns visited
-
-
I will use Collette again in the future
-
ServiceThe tour was well planned with interesting stops. Loved everything! The hotel was very nice. I particularly liked staying in one hotel throughout the tour. Our tour guide, Savio, was well informed and entertaining as well as being well organized and kept everything running smoothly.
-
TourThe tour was excellent. My favorite day was spent in Cinque Terre.

Breathtaking !!
-
ServiceA most excellent adventure from first pick up to last ride home. Every minute was wonderful. Every plane, bus and limo connection and their staff was perfect. Our tour guide, Guilio, was a true scholar. From beginning to end his only thought was for our comfort and safety. He imparted so much rich culture and history of Toscana. Guilio was so much fun to be with. He was very organized and the trip ran like clock work. We stayed at one hotel and traveled by coach daily. The coach, driven by Danielle, was luxurious, spotless, on time and the driver was experienced. The waiter, Luigi, at the Grand Hotel Tettuccio, (Montecatini Terme) showed get professional expertise and charm. The local guides knew everything there was to know about every location we were in. To actually be in the birth place of history, to walk ancient, medieval streets where ancient people walked was awe inspiring. The ancient cities were sites to behold. The Art and statuary, the leather work and ceramics...not to mention the jewelry created by true artisans. The color and design of fabrics. The fresh local food in the stores and served in many restaurants to suit your taste.Visits to local vineyards, olive orchards and cheese farms were opportunities to meet the people of the country and share some of the freshest and most delicious food we’d ever had. The shops were filled with the most beautiful, interesting and extremely well made merchandise. We even toured a Word War II Nazi Bunker and heard harrowing stories of local residents who had family members fighting in the war. The Italian people are open, and warm and friendly. The country is clean and easy to navigate. The roads are smooth and well signed and lit. The sweeping vistas of the country side, from landscaped, sculpted hills, to craggy snow capped distant marble mountains are true eye candy!! All the people of every age are well and stylishly dressed. They are polite and friendly! They care for and take pride in their love of dogs. I am thrilled that I was able to make this trip, and I thank Collette for putting together my trip of a life time.
-
TourWorth every penny. Outstanding from beginning to end. Packed with experience. So satisfying. I cannot wait to return.

-
Well-planned itinerary with excellent guide
-
ServiceThe trip was better than I expected and Collette's travel arrangements were largely responsible. It was NOT perfect- but errors happen and our guide did a great job rolling with the flow. Any trip becomes what the traveler chooses and reacts to- my terrific roommate helped a lot! Areas to improve: time between airline transfers was too short- we lost 2 people in Amsterdam because the huge airport w/ no transport systems confused them. Imagine how they felt, lost in a foreign place! Colette made it right but cannot ever make those two forget the awful experience. We also paid in advance for some entry fees that weren't used- our guide hurried a restaurant into providing a dinner to compensate us. Unfortunately the restaurant gave us the bum's rush, throwing food at us and clearing too soon in order to let their local customers dine w/out "the tourists." They certainly didn't earn their money or tips- but it was prepaid, on the last night, and left a bad impression on all of us. I personally found Colette's tipping guidelines too high for the service we received. 20% on top of travel expenses was ridiculous and several members on the tour pooled their tips to even out that percentage to about 12%, where it should be. I will certainly look at future trips with Collette, especially those with single hotel stays- it was marvelous not to worry about packing.

ServiceEverything about this trip was great, airline schedule, hotel accommodations were excellent and the tours were outstanding. I will definitely travel with Collette again and also recommend their travel.
-
TourEach and everyday tours were excellent but I especially enjoyed the day in Florence (and could have spend another entire day there.) Also the optional day to Cinque Terre was well worth the extra money.
-
-
-
ServiceI thought our guide Cybalia was wonderful and the places you picked for us to eat were fantastic. Also the local guide in Rome was excellent
-
TourI was very upset on how long the layover while going to Italy in Atlanta was unacceptable. Some in our group was on a flight which left a lot earlier. We booked this trip over a year in advance. To me that is unacceptable. Then in Paris another long layover. Seems like you treated us like 3rd class citizens. We ALL should have been on the layover that was less than 2 hours in Atlanta. The brochure for the option Rome at night was not what was described. Luckily, Ciblia mentioned it was a meal and entertainment, no lights by night We were able to cancel; however, it was not what was advertised.
Thank you for traveling with Collette to Tuscany. Your feedback will be reviewed by the Air department in order to improve the overall touring experience for our guests.

Actual tour experience was exceptional
-
ServiceThe tour was fabulous. The tour guide could not have been better and the guides especially in Rome were exceptional. I would repeat the trip tomorrow . Problem was with the planes. Delta and Air France did their jobs but the scheduling was the issue. First, the agents could not figure how to fly me to ATL from PTI and suggested I fly to St. Louis and join the group. This did not make any sense to me. It was resolved but gave me on 55 minutes between plans and I almost missed the plane to Paris. The other guest had assigned seats. I discovered this when the friend I travel with asked me what I was sitting. I never received assignments from Collette and my friend and I were seated in totally different area. I had to choose my seats from what was available after all others were assigned seats. I would have appreciated Collette discussing the extended layover I was going to have in Detroit on the return. I loved the transportation to and from mt home to the airport. It was excellent.
-
TourSee what I just wrote. Already explained problem.

-
ServiceSibila, our tour guide was outstanding! It was obvious that she works very hard to be prepared and knowledgeable. Made the trip very informative and fun. Our bus driver was remarkable, Pasquale!
-
TourReally would be 4.5. There was some confusion, more than once, on details in itinerary package we received vs. actuality. one example was that we signed up for "Rome at Night" that said there would be a panoramic night tour of Rome. That morning we were told that that would not be included in the evening out, which was the main reason we signed up. We were told we could opt out and get reimbursed. Hopefully we will get reimbursed! Also, 5 1/2 hour layover in Paris was brutal, after a 3 1/2 hr layover in ATL. We had more layover time than flight time! Highlights were Cinqueterra tour, Roman Coloseum, Vatican, Pisa.
Thank you for traveling with Collette to Tuscany and for providing us with this feedback. You were refunded for the option on 4/17/19.

ServiceKathi Wingo is amazing. She made sure we got everything we needed. Kept us informed of any thing we should know.
-
TourGot to see a wide variety of things in the area. Cooking evening at the winery was fun!! The group was too large with several heavy/older people that had a hard time keeping up. Taxi's were called, which was great. A small tour group would have been better.

ServiceThe trip was more than great! We were so very lucky to have Elena Delzanno as our guide. She was so knowable with info not even in our tour. Thought the driver Pio was fun and just very nice. I still think about the trip and it has been weeks and it brings a smile to my face. I think my friend that went also would love to have a schedule of trips that hopefully involve Elena.

TourJust did above The entire tour was great, especially Elena and Pio

Super people who make sure you have a trip of a lifetime!
-
ServiceMy experience with Collette was fantastic! Our hotel was lovely. Antanella, our tour guide and Piero, our driver, went out of their way to make sure everyone was comfortable in our luxurious touring coach. Each day was a new adventure to a beautiful city, a medieval village, a delicious meal in the country side, or a walk along the Ligurian Sea. A trip of a lifetime! Thank you Collette. We will definitely see you again soon!
-
TourEach day was a new adventure. I couldn't believe I was really standing in front of THE David and wandering around Florence! The next day was a visit to the medieval village of Lucca and a tour of Puccini's apartment, then on to a WW II historical site. One day we took a short train ride to the Cinque Terre and walked around two villages. And on the ride to the train saw stacks of Carrara marble waiting for shipment and the mountains where Carrara marble comes from. We toured Pisa and took pictures of each other trying to push it upright! Also, we had several delicious meals in the country and even made our own pasta! What a fun way to get to know our fellow travelers. Very enjoyable.

ServiceI would definitely use Collette as a travel service. They went above my expectations on our trip to Tuscany in March with the Sun City Roseville travel club.

ServiceWe asked Collette to customize our between trips days and they did so. Also, they again customized our air fare home, which took their time and patiences to do so. This was very much appreciated...and we got to have an even longer relaxing peroid of time.....thank y'all again for doing so...Denise

Would love to do again with same guides driver but diff hotel
-
ServiceBest guides hands down & bus driver. Hotel was just ok, the staff at the front desk were horrible, never looked up & seemed that you were a bother with exception of the gentleman that was there late night, the 2 girls were useless. Also my only other complaint was before the trip, I called collect about info on upgrade of tickets from sea to ams & back, was told get back to me but they did not. Also due to fog in Amsterdam going and coming our flights were delayed, returning had to spend the night in Amsterdam which screwed up other pick up in sac. I would recommend going thru Paris on those trips due to fog conditions in Amsterdam

TourThe farm house for lunch was excellent was all outings, & also the ww2 tour

-
ServiceWonderful guide, hotel and choice of places to visit
-
TourThe guide was amazing, lots of info and very knowledgeable. Most memorable was the American cemetery outside Florence, and of course all the food.

-
Tour guide rocks!
-
ServiceOur tour guide Giolio was the best. He has the patience of a saint. This tour was mismatched in regards to activity levels yet he managed to keep everyone happy, even those who complained for no reason.
-
TourI loved the variety of places. it enabled us to see where we will be returning. I do not like the shortness of being in each place and missing out on many lovely things. The hotel dinner food was awful as well as the last night's meal location. The farm to table and cheese farm were amazing, so these others did not quite fit. As we were a foodie group traveling with our local chef, we expected the food to be stellar. We loved Lucca. Hated Pisa, too crowded and touristy. Florence needs at least 2 days and dinner there. Food is much more well known there. Winery did not live up to hype. it was not very good. We had much better at the local bars we went to. Cinque was lovely. The restaurant the guides suggested here was probably one of our favorites.

Great Company to Travel With
-
ServiceCollette was awesome. The trip was reasonably priced, very organized and I love the website where I can get all kinds of information regarding the trip. The only issue was with coming home after a 12 hour flight where we got no sleep, they cancelled our flight from San Francisco to Sacramento and we had to wait around the airport for another 7 hours before we got picked up and taken home.
-
TourI loved all the history and the architecture.
-

ServiceThis is the third Collette tour for me. All of the people involved in putting this tour and making it happen are exceptional. -
-
Collette exceeded every expectation! Can't wait until my next tour!
-
ServiceFrom beginning to end, every detail was attended to. Exceeded my expectations. Felt cared for and safe within the group (as a single traveler) but had freedom to explore. Great tour guides/local experts, the additional cooking class was fantastic, and the cheese farm lunch was one of my favorites. Restaurants were chosen well, day trips were selected with thought of how every moment would be valuable. So much to say about how I enjoyed this trip!!! Can't wait until my next Collette trip!
-
TourThe cooking class was one of the many highlights for me, The entire class was engaged and had lots of laughter with collaborative efforts. The estate where this was provided was beautiful, and the staff warmly welcomed us. We also got to see the sunset over the countryside, which heightened the experience as we explored the grounds. Pasta and Tiramisu were fun to create and enjoy!

-
ServiceYou have a treasure in Heather Villamaino!!! With her personal experiences and knowledge of Italy, she added so much culture and history to our trip. Your itinerary kept us very busy, which is great. Thank you for a trip of a lifetime.
-
TourCinque Terre was unbelievable. Loved everywhere we went on this trip!
-
-
-
ServiceTrip well organized. Yes, I would recommend them and would definitely use them again
-
TourLoved all the places we saw. The tour guide was fantastic. Was very up beat and even added extra things for us to do for those that wanted to. Our bus driver was excellent as well and very courteous. However, we are still waiting to hear from our tour guide with email addresses and information he was going to send to all of us.

-
-
ServiceWe had a terrific travel guide. He explained everything perfectly! He had an excellent knowledge of the places we visited, not to mention, his great sense of humor. Service in the hotel was very, especially at breakfast .
-
TourWe truly enjoyed the cooking class. so much fun,and we learned how to make pasta, and tiramisu. The country side was gorgeous, and very relaxing.

ServiceThe city of Montecatini was well chosen as well as the hotel in a central location. All the meals provded were excellent. The tour director Guglio, was professional, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun. One of my personal highlights was the Agriturismo farm where we made our own meal and interacted with the family. It was a totally enjoyable trip.
-
TourGreat trip all around. Collette has never diappointed me!
-
-
-
ServiceGiluio Passariello was excellent. He was knowledgeable, fun and always on the spot. His friendliness set the pattern for the busload. Even at break time, he would visit with the tourists. The suggestions for (food, purchases, restrooms) in all the areas were most helpful; all of the information covering the miles was very interesting.
-
TourVery interesting area and so much history.
-
-
-
ServiceService was excellent. Tour guide and driver were very professional and extremely likable. I really got the best value for a tour.
-
TourTour was excellent. More than one memorable experience for sure!
-
-
Excellent customer service.
-
Service4+ rating. They do an excellent job of arranging the flights to and from. The limo service from home to airport to hotel, etc. is so important to us. Their guides, both tour director and local guides are the best. We just finished a trip with Alexia and she was funny, knowledgeable, personable, and above all -- professional. The sights visited were fantastic. I rate all travel sights at 4's as I feel that certain portions are always overpriced. We have traveled to Europe 8 times with Collette and love their service, their insurance options, and side tour options. We look forward to more trips when the price is right. I'd love to go to Israel, but seldom see bargains on the airfare. It is often the airfare that stops us from more tours.
-
TourThe Florence American Military Cemetery, the cute town of Montecatini Alto, visiting Lucca and the Gothic Line with the German bunkers and the museum, and finally San Gimignano. There we had the gelato that won the world's best contest two years and then off to a cheese farm for a light lunch and the purchase of cheese to bring home.
-
-
-
ServiceAlways very prompt courteous & helpful with phone calls. Mailings are always ver informative & complete.
-
TourGreat locations & venues.
-
-
-
ServiceBecause of the excellent response, the knowledge, the friendly attitude and just overall willingness to be helpful, I always deal directly with Collette team members and never a travel agent.
-
TourThe tour was so much more than we ever expected. The highlight of the tour was tour manager Alexa D. She was organized, always available and her bright personality made the entire trip totally fun. Our bus driver, the local tour guides and everywhere we went allowed us to experience a new adventure each day. We were so satisfied with this trip taht we have already booked the Italian Vistas tour for next spring.

-
-
ServiceI highly recommend Collette over other tour providers and I will travel with Collette again. They provide an affordable price and ease in making arrangements. Especially love working with Cyndy Snider to make plans. She's the best.
-
TourFor a short tour, this tour was packed! We had plant of time with knowledgable guides and also plenty of time to explore on our own. I love the cities selected and the amazing sights. Especially enjoyed the unexpected parade in Florence. The hotel was friendly comfortable and provided excellent breakfasts. The Cinque Terre add on was perfect.
-
-
-
ServiceService was fine.
-
TourTour included an individual that was not physically capable which caused problems. In addition, that individual was totally inconsiderate in causing the entire3 group to be delayed because he took off on his own and we had to find him.
-
-
-
ServiceEverything was done extremely well!!
-
TourThe history in all the cities was wonderful. I especially enjoyed the information in Pizza.
-
-
-
ServiceThere was not enough pre trip information for those of us who have never traveled overseas.
-
TourOnce safe with our group the trip met my expectations.
-
-
-
ServiceFantastic. From the first class hotel to all the sites we visited and, especially, Sergi, our tour guide. What a jewel of a man. He is witty, funny, concerned, and extremely helpful.
-
TourWe visited small farms and busy cities. We visited iconic sites like Leaning Tower of Pisa and towns I still cannot pronounce their names. Drank a lot of wines that were simply delicious and tasted foods that were unique. Gelato became a favorite dessert.
-
-
-
Servicethe tour guide was really good. he knew every city really good and knew what shops to go and what food to eat.
-
Toureverything was really good.
-
-
Not sure I would travel with Collette again because of Kevin & return issue
-
ServiceThe trip was fabulous. Alexandre Dorobanto was fantastic including personable, knowledge of tour areas visited as well as her professionalism. I could not have expected a better tour guide. Our bus driver was also fantastic. That being said, the Collette tour information received before the tour, Kevin, gave us some incorrect info. For example, he told us we should exchange US currency to Euros once we got to Europe. We should have made the exchange locally at either AAA or our local bank which would not have charged us for the service. I was charged $28.00 in Europe. He also should have been knowledgeable about the hotel amenities, he was not. In addition, he should have told us about the spa across the street from our hotel as some of us might have scheduled a spa treatment. Also, Collette should have been aware there was an Italian national holiday on Nov 1 which many Italians used as a holiday long weekend. We traveled to Florence on Saturday, Nov 3, and it was EXTREMELY crowded. It would have been nice to visit Florence on a less crowded day. Finally, Collette should have informed everyone we would not be in the U.S. on Election Day in order to get absentee ballots. I did this once I realized it, but Collette should have advised. I did have an issue with one of our return flights being cancelled on the way home which I have resolved.
-
TourIssues with Kevin and flight issue coming home
Thank you for traveling with Collette to Tuscany. Your feedback will be reviewed by the Director of Outside Sales in order to improve and enhance the pre tour experience for our guests.

ServiceEach time I phoned for payment or with questions, the service was courteous and efficient.
-
TourNorman, our marvelous group guide/"tour manager," needed to help one couple with acquiring their awaited but missing vote-by-mail U.S. ballot for the Nov '18 election, and to help locate and shepherd an elderly lone man who had mobility and memory challenges, as well as to help another man alone after his wallet and U.S. passport were stolen--all during the same one-week trip!
-
-
Almost perfect trip.
-
ServiceI’d like to say 4.5 stars. The only negative was really due to the weather. We weren’t able to go to Cinqe d’ terre and had a trip to Bologna substituted. Not as spectacular but Collette was concerned for our safety so it was understandable. My tour manager Alexia was superb and made the whole trip just wonderful!
-
TourLoved Pisa, the trip thru a contrada in Sienna and the Gothic line visit. Especially wonderful was our tour managers side trip to the American cemetery.
-
-
I had never gone on a group tour.
-
ServiceThe arrangements, the tour guide, and activities were all excellent.
-
TourEVerything about this tour was amazing. The tour guide, Mattia, was capable, entertaining, and personable. The people on the tour were fun and easy to talk to, and the Tuscany sites were so beautiful and interesting. I would not hesitate to do this again.
-
-
-
ServiceI know they provided great rates and service for a few people in my group who wanted to add trips before and after our scheduled trip. During our stay there was a cancellation of a great day trip that everyone was looking forward to. The crew in the US put together a great alternative trip in a short amount of time that filled in the gap.
-
TourThe tour manager and driver made the trip so much more fun! We felt that we were in good hands all the way. They met as at the airport and provided insight and information and confidence to travel in this foreign place to us. The small towns with personal guided tours by locals gave us the insiders view.

-
ServiceAlways willing to answer all my questions.
-
TourNice to stay in one hotel for the week. Having tours arranged daily where great.
-
-
-
ServiceVery efficient. The trip was well planned and organized. Terrific service.
-
TourJust an awesome tour. Each city was amazing. Local tour guides were excellent. Such charm. Loved the cooking class, cheese farm luncheon, and wine taste. Would book again. Have recommended it to all.
-
-
Just a so-so tour.
-
ServiceI did think the staff were helpful in answering questions and providing assistance. The tours did not include seeing “inside” buildings and museums. It felt as if we spent more time on the bus than actually touring.
-
TourThe tour did not have enough substance. We spent more time on the bus and then just walking past buildings. The tour agent who handled the booking was very inefficient and rude.
-
-
Well organized
-
ServiceThe tour was well planned and truly enjoyable. I appreciated the preplanning suggestions we received in advance.
-

ServiceYes I would certainly travel with Collette again. I know they want you to experience alot but I would have also enjoyed some more time that the traveler could use at their discretion ie: to explore local town.
-
TourLots of local experiences and thoroughly enjoyed all guides especially Guiseppe

I fell in love with Tuscany
-
ServiceMy Tuscany tour was amazing. Guide Antonio was the best I have ever met. He kept us on our tight schedule (not an easy thing to accomplish). He was very knowledgeable. Antonio was polite, professional and extremely kind. Tio was a great driver. I felt very safe with him. Very conconsiderate in helping the elderly. Sights were amazing ~ I loved everything. The hotel was ok. It was in an excellent location.
-
TourIt was awesome! Food was excellent. Sights were gorgeous.

-
ServiceI’m not sure who planned the trip but they did a very poor job. Scheduled us to visit Florence on Monday. We had to tell the travel agent the museums were closed on Monday. We went to **** on Tuesday which was cruise ship day. Another bad decision. We had a 7 hour layover in Paris after our all night flight, then an hour and a half flight to Florence and the 30 minute bus ride to hotel. The other group had a 3 hour layover. 65 people were on the trip. Our bus didn’t have leather seats or Wi-Fi like the other bus. The cheese farm had a lovely lunch but didn’t see one one sheep, only a pig and a donkey. Didn’t see where they stored cheese or even a demonstration on cheese making. There were many differences between the two groups. The people on our bus were treated like second class citizens and we all paid the same price
-
TourCinque Terre was beautiful and it was enjoyed by everyone on the trip.

-
ServiceThe tour was well planned. Our gude was beyond knowledgeable and shared so much with us. Our motor coach driver was very skilled and personable. Accommodations were pleasant and included meals were superb. Reasonably priced, this tour was excellent.
-
TourOptional trip to Cinque Terre was magical. The included meals were a true experience and D-elicious.
-
-
-
-
ServiceThe tour of Italy was excellent, though the air travel could have been better. Very long layovers getting there.
-
TourThe tour was excellent. Accommodations were good. I loved Lucca and Monticontini was a very nice town.
-
-
-
ServiceWe loved our tour guide Pilar (Cookie) and our driver Franco! All the excursions were first class and educational. All the other specific town guides were so great at the history and knowledge of the that area. It was very fun and we would do it again with Collette!
-
TourThe great stories our tour guide as us of each region.

-
The best !
-
ServiceIt was a fabulous trip of my life time. Great sights and destinations. The food and wine and people were terrific! Everything was so organized a head that you knew what you would be doing every minute. Yes. I would go again and have recommended Collette to many other people.
-
TourLoved all the details we got from our tour guide. She gave us great insight to everything on the tour. The food was out of this world. Great ! Favorite city was Florence. Loved all the history and art works of Michelangelo. Truly loved everything.

-
Collette really cares
-
ServiceCollette seemed to care about its customers and helping with any problems that may have arisen. I will definitely book another Collette tour in the future.
-
TourEven though an optional tour was cancelled due to weather concerns (and rightfully so), the day we spent finding something else to experience was one of my favorite days on the trip. We discovered Montecatini Alto, right about Montecatini Terme where we were staying, and wandered around for a few hours. It was beautiful and not crowded at all.
-
-
-
ServiceI was very happy with the service received from Collette. The site gave information I was interested in, An introduction letter from our Tour Manager Mario, made me feel that there was genuine interest in ensuring I had the best tour possible. The hotel was good, the sites and guides were fantastic, the people were incredible! I will definitely use Collette again!
-
TourThe tour team,: Tour Manager, the site guides, the bus driver., and of course the destination! I can't state a favourite memory except to say , the tour was worth every penny, The Collette team in Canada but especially in Tuscany made this trip perfect.

-
TourGoing to Siena and learning about the history of the neighborhoods and horse races.
-
-
Awesome service!
-
ServiceAwesome service! The local guides were great; knowledgeable and friendly. My only suggestion is to have smaller groups. Having 45 people in the group was hard to manage.
-
TourI loved visiting Cinque Terre and the drive through the countryside. The tour was amazing, there were just too many people in the tour.

ServiceSpotlight on Tuscany was a well organized tour. Being based out of one location with our daily trips to our featured location was a plus. The tour covered a lot of territory in seven days. The coach was comfortable and tour director, Luigi, was excellent. We would definitely recommend Collette to our friends.
-
TourThe Spotlight on Tuscany was a very interesting and educational tour. Although we covered a lot of beautiful territory in seven day, our favorite spot was Cinque Terra.

A great experience
-
ServiceFor a single traveller, this trip was the best to Tuscany of all the tour companies I looked at. It was the most interesting I have been on because of the variety of experiences on offer. The Tour Manager was very good as was our coach driver and the local guides employed. I should have liked a small break in the morning activities to enable us to have a morning drink together. We were all disappointed that the Tour Manager was not with us on the morning of our departure to see us off as she had been assigned to start another tour before we left.
-
TourThe variety of experiences - cooking class, winery visit, visit to the cheese farm plus the local tours.

Glorious Tuscany
-
ServiceWonderful time with Collette in Tuscany! Fabulous guide Mickey! A little too much FYI in towns from guides there. Would rather have had a little more free time. But the guides were very good. Carlo was exceptional in Lucco and at the museum. So interesting!
-
TourGreat time, good guides, great food and weather. Lucca was favorite Our driver was not in Florence to meet us. Airport travel aid and info NOT helpful but a BEAUTIFUL young man called Collette in U S on his phone for us and got arrangements made.

-
Great experience - Great People
-
ServiceThis was our second trip with Collette. Both trips were incredible. Everything was prepared to a tee, well thought out and just incredible. But the best if all are the tour guides. So well prepared, informative and incredible personalities. We will definitely be traveling with Collette again and would recommend them to everyone.
-
TourThe ancient towns in the Tuscany region were amazing with their rich histories and the beauty of the countryside will be something that stays with us always.

Amazing trip & Amazing Staff
-
ServiceThe tour guide was awesome. She was pleasant, knowledgeable, patient and make herself available when needed by some travelers. Her partnership with the driver made everyone feel comfortable.
-
TourThe trip was amazing in the beautiful Tuscany area of Italy. All of the cities/villages we toured were all fantastic. My most favorite memory was spending time in Florence.
-
-
A memorable tour of Tuscany
-
ServiceThe tour logistics were handled well. Our lead tour guide Alexa did a very good job.
-
TourThe tour was well executed. The visits to the Gothic Line, Siena and the optional tour to Cinque Terre were my most memorable experiences. Reasons for not 5 stars: The hotel was a poor experience and 2 of the 3 optional events were cancelled due to low turnout. Hotel issues: too noisy outside at night, shower barely usable, expected main floor restaurant & bar to be busier (appeared to be past its prime).
Thank you for traveling with Collette to Tuscany. Your comments have been forwarded to our Product Development Team. This feedback will be used to enhance this tour for our future guests.

ServiceEverybody from Collette was friendly and helpful. Most of all, they were all accommodating. Trying to accommodate 40+ people can be challenging and Collette did a great job of it.
-
TourMy most memorable experience of the trip was going to a Tuscany winery and doing a cooking class on how to cook pasta and getting to eat in the wine cellar. The winery staff was super nice and the food was delicious.

TourVery informative and organized. Pisa was my favorite.

-
ServiceOver all the trip was good. The flights could have been better by only having 1 lay over instead of 2 in each direction. The biggest complaint we had was the package included pick up at all airports and when we arrived in Italy our driver wasn't there to meet us, we had to wait 40 minutes for our ride to the hotel. When we arrived home our pick up was 30 minutes late.
-
TourEvery city we visited was great. The tour guides did a great job.

By and large, a great trip overall, and we will probably use Collette again
-
ServiceThe Cheese factory visit was not as expected, no actual look at their operation. However the lunch was quite good, and the country side trip was appreciated. The first night dinner was a disgrace for such a hotel and did not meet our expectations considering Collette's reputation.

You don’t want to miss a thing, so walking and standing for longer periods of time (1-2 hours) isn’t a big deal. You can expect some longer days balanced with free-time to recharge or set out on your own adventure.

Some of the most unique sightseeing can mean accessing locations that restrict motor coaches, especially in historic areas such as Lucca, Siena, San Gimignano and Florence, which requires minimum 2.5 miles of walking over flat but cobblestoned streets with narrow sidewalks. For your comfort, we recommend bringing walking shoes. If you require a walker or wheelchair, or have difficulty walking, you may not be able to access some of these areas and may want to consider an alternate program with us.
