I got to see a lot and do a lot which was my goal for this trip. However, the pace of the tour was way more aggressive than I would have liked. Moving from place to place every other day was exhausting. Also, I don't feel like I really saw the vatican. Between trying to keep up with the tour guide and the crowds, it was virtually impossible to take it all in. A lot of our group had trouble keeping up with the pace. Maybe Collette could arrange some tours for senior citizens. Maybe having more free time would have been great.

The tour was excellent! It included London, Paris, Lucerne, Andematt, Tuscany, Florence, Venice, and Rome. Our tour guide, Mojca was outstanding! She was so detailed and very knowledgeable. She was also very well organized, always anticipating the unexpected and being well prepared. I had so many favorite memories, but I really loved the Paris cabaret (so entertaining and colorful!) and the Seine River Cruise where the food was so delicious. I loved that Collete also hired additional local tour guides to show us around the local area, walking through the narrow streets and alley ways of Florence and Venice and seeing the little cafes and restaurants. I also enjoyed taking the Gondola ride in Venice, taking in the views of the water! It was so amazing to take in all the architecture and statues all over Italy, from the beautifully designed churches and basilicas ie St Peters in Rome and St Mark's in Venice, to the fascinating fountains (Trevi and Navona in Rome) and sculptures at the Relias Piazza Signoria (Rome). The wine tasting/lunch and tour of the old the castle in Tuscany was fantastic! Andermaat in Switzerland had the best hotel which was the Radisson Blu! It was spacious, modern and very clean. I wish the other hotels were a little more updated and closer to some of the meeting sites. We also stayed an extra night and did an excursion to Pompei and the Amalfi Coast....AMAZING!!! Our tour manager was incredible - so informative, helpful, fun, and interesting - plus she really took good care of us and looked out for us. Our bus driver not only handled extremely difficult traffic with ease and confidence, he became a special part of the tour group. Many dreams came true for me of places I have always wanted to see during this tour. For instance, I always thought it would be lovely to take a gondola ride in Venice. The wine and local food tasting at the fascinating castle in gorgeous Tuscany was another favorite adventure for me. This is difficult to answer since they were all very memorable. We would have to say Rome was our favorite, it was just wonderful!

My wife and I have sent in a 2-1/2 page letter expressing out concerns to Collettes guest services (U.S.) and are awaiting a response. We tried to download it here but it would not paste. It seems you are only really interested in seeing/hearing good/excellent responses. Should you be interested in the letter in it's entirety let us know and we will gladly email a copy.

There needs to be two days added to the tour...one in London and another in Lucern Switzerland. The only problem was with the other guides...they walked too fast and you had to keep telling them to slow down. All the places visited was excellent and we met a lot of wonderful people at each place we visited. Like the castle where they made wine and extra virgin olive oil, Eiffle Tower, Seeing London and the the Colosseum. The statue of David was very interesting and we got to see how the plaster ones were made. Overall it was a great trip and I'm glad that I had the opportunity to go to all of the places we went to.
