Very well organized. It was a physically strenuous tour but that enabled us to see so many beautiful places. I liked that we only had to change hotels once. David Sanchez, our tour guide, went out of his way to make sure all our needs were met and questions answered. The food and wine were always top notch! Would definitely recommend this Spain tour!

I like to pack a lot into a day and liked our first day of Setenil, Ronda, and dinner, even though it was a long day. I did 2 optional tours; otherwise I feel it would have been too much free time. Our guide was wonderful. One of the few things we weren't happy about was no breakfast the last morning because of leaving at 7am, even though it said we would get a breakfast that day.

Our first hotel in Malala was ok. Location was great food and wine were great. Our room was very hot. I was told twice that do turn the air conditioning on until June, although some other guest said they had a/c. The front desk told me twice that all they had was the fan. I twice asked for the fan to be turned on in our room…..NEVER happened. We had to open the windows at night and were bitten by mosquitoes all night. The WiFi at this hotel was very spotty. The hotel in Madrid was 5 star. We loved lunch at a locals home. Scenery was lovely but it was a rough walking trip, stairs, inclines, and pace.

Tour was excellent overall but the extensive walking we did on the first day after arrival was tough for some of us. Meals were very good and being gluten free, the staff of the restaurants were very good about seeing that I was made aware of what I could and couldn’t eat and always provided a substitute for me. I found Segovia to be the best town we visited but the others were also very nice, especially the host family who had us come in for lunch at their home.

The tour to Costa del Sol was packed with memorable visits to towns and landmarks like Malaga, Granada, Alhambra, Mijas, Setenil, Ronda and the Puente Nuevo. Especially memorable was the walking tour of Madrid and the day spent in Segovia with it's Roman Aqueduct, then walking to the Alcazar de Segovia. The tour manager, Luis Cano kept the fact- and sites-filled tour moving seamlessly including the fast-speed train ride to Madrid. Local guides gave context and history to the amazing places we saw. The accommodation was excellent, with places for evening relaxation and casual social gatherings - a chance to talk to other members of the group who have come from all over (mainly) the U.S. Then there was the food! Breakfasts at the hotels were very good and the choice of restaurants that were included in the cost of the trip were excellent!! The restaurants, and entertainment recommended for us to "discover" were also excellent. A highlight was lunch at a local family home, where the food was wonderful and the opportunity to talk to our delightful family was something I could not have done if traveling on my own. A thoroughly enjoyable, educational, packed trip that now has me reading more about Spainish history, and planning my next trip!

The tour was constructed to give as much opportunity to see different areas and sights in the country, but without being so frenetic it was exhausting. I liked being headquartered in only two hotels, with day trips from there. Our tour leader Lola was a delight. I would have to say my favorite experience was being hosted by local people in their home for a delicious meal and conversation.

This tour was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend it. The pace was perfect for me! Several nights in Costa del Sol and two nights in Madrid. Perfect! The tour manager Carmen was kind, thoughtful, fun, informative and entertaining! Some highlights of the tour were the home hosted dinner, where we met local woman Esperanza- and she cooked for us a veritable feast of traditional Spanish food. It was a meal I’ll never forget. I also enjoyed the Flamenco lesson! I went on this tour in December, and Spain was bustling with beautiful Christmas markets, and the streets were filled with decorative lights and festive music! This was my 6th Collette tour and they just are getting better and better!!!

We liked the Mijas but it was at night and we didn’t have as much time as we would have liked to enjoy shopping. The restaurant in Mijas was great and beautiful but also at night so we really missed out on the special view. There was a restaurant Los Galayos, where we had entertainment and that was fun. We enjoyed the Alcazar castle and the tour guide.

Costa del Sol & Madrid were amazing. Perfect weather, amazing food & well informed guides made visits to old castles, churches, & public squares a delightful first trip to Spain. My only concern was the extensive daily walking which well exceeded the miles outlined in your literature. One day my watch totaled 8 miles. Due to overuse of my left leg I am limping & waiting uncomfortably for a gel shot to be approved by insurance.
