Was not happy with the airline. While in Fairbanks we only had one restaurant near the hotel.

Tour was good. Lodging in Denali was not the best. At times the tour guide over talked when quiet time would have been good.

There were several things with this trip that i didnt enjoy anf i have thoroughly enjoyed Collette trips before. The musk ox farm was boring. It seemed as if they needed a filler. The hotel The Bluffs was not good. I felt like i had paid a lot of money to go to a summer camp. No air conditioning, which would have been fine if we had had windows to open, the tv didnt work, and we had no internet. I would not suggest this place. When i said something to our tour guide she acted like i was being childish. She made me feel bad for talking to her about it. I did enjoy the train with breakfast. It was very enjoyable and the glacier boat trip. Our bus driver, Levi, was excellent. He should be the tour director. Very personable and talkative. This is not a trip i would recommend.

We were totally on our own in Fairbanks. Luckily, we were able to rent a car and see all the significant places that our tour guide did not do, even though she said she would do one of them, the Visitor Center, but did not do that anyway. She seemed to do the minimum, unlike previous leaders on Collette. For example, she was not around on our various stops to take pictures.

Our tour manager was awesome-both his knowledge and enthusiasm were delightful. The excursions were good, my favorite was either Trail Breaker Kennel or Musk Ox Farm (I love animals).

It was a trip filled with first. We saw glaciers up close and personal, 3 grizzley bears, along with other wild life, and saw salmon spawning. Our guide, Eric, was very knowledgeable and our bus driver, Craig, was filled with local knowledge.

Too much was left up to the tour members to plan. Favorite memorable experience was the visit to the sled dog kennel.
