food and hotels not as good as on other Collette tours

Not enough time at Yellowstone lodge. Barely half a day. Food and accommodations not top notch. Great country,but the time of year had many things closed the week before. Should be noted to customer.

I love meeting different people.

The tour manager, Kevin, made sure that I was able to do the things he had planned. Even before the tour started he inquired about my health. The tour is a spectacular example of all that the National Parks service offers. We Americans are very lucky that we have this beautiful resource. It is hard to pick a favorite. But an unexpected experience was the pride and awe I felt for the pioneers who settled this country and my heartfelt sympathy for the Native Americans that we displaced,

Too much off and on the bus and packing and unpacking to move to the next destination. The food selection was not good. Only one hotel accommodations were great. During Covid (which I got on the trip) moving to different seats on the bus, I did not think it was sanitary. Not sure if the bus had good air filtration or used a Lysol spray in between trips. The plane seating was terrible. Couples should have been able to sit together. Some people in our group didn't have a seat on the plane to begin the trip. We all signed up well in advance of the trip.

Not only were the sites incredible but the tour guide Chuck Tracy made the tour outstanding. The accommodations were fair and could have been better. Meals provided by Collette at the most locations could have been better also.

Tour guide was terrific and beautiful scenery.

Phyl was very knowledgeable and takes care of everything. She is very caring toward everyone and goes the extra mile to make everyone happy

The tabernacle choir was great. Loved crazy horse and Mt Rushmore. Yellowstone was perfect.

Tour Manager was excellent but food was poor! The choice of the farewell dinner restaurant” ( Minerva’s ) was more like a conference room. Food was terrible. Hart Mountain didn’t need to be included in “Cowboy Country “ tour. More time should have been given to walk the town of Jackson Hole.

Loved every part of the trip from the sites we saw, to the tour guide, to the hotel's, help with the luggage, etc.

Comfortable, well planned, some great food and the Collette experienced tour directors make Cowboy Country a wonderful trip. I loved hearing the history of the region and the natural beauty of Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. And best of all, Collette does all the work to make it an enjoyable vacation.

Everything was completely planned out for us and it was the trip of a lifetime! I can’t wait to go on another Collette Tour!

Not worth the cost! We paid $640 a day for both of us. The food was mediocre at best, the hotels were nice, hotels I would stay at while traveling but not for the cost of the trip. We could have stayed longer at spots that would have been more memorable then the every 2 hour bathroom break and shopping! The trip was a waste of money, we travel extensively and never spent this much money a day while on a road trip and I’m sure Collette pays less money for the hotels then we would.

The history and beauty of the area

Salt Lake City was very nice, clean and safe. Beautiful city. Of course all the mountain ranges were incredible.

Despite the weather having a mind of its own, we were able to see everything. There was so much wildlife seen during the tour that even our tour manager Todd was amazed. Seeing everything snow covered was absolutely beautiful.

Visit at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West Museum.

Visit to Grand Teton/Jenny Lake. Snowed on the way to Jackson Lake. Observered a herd of elk and bison on the way. Enjoyed the covered wagon dinner at Cache Creek. Great entertainment! Yellowstone National Park was awesome. Old faithful and fountains were beautiful. Kevin Costner's Tatanka was memorable.

In Cowboy County you would have expected great steaks, wonderful rustic meals etc. Not cold buffets, and disappointing meals. For the price paid the food was a complete disappointment.

Our guide and driver were both top notch. Bus was always clean and sanitized. Information about each leg of our tour was presented while we were driving - making it interesting and informative.

My tour guide was excellent. He had to follow the program and did the best he could with advising us what to see in the places where we were on our own. You should not book people to fly into Lake City, UT on Sunday...nothing is open. Our hotel did serve until 1:30p. Also, it would have been better if when riding through Custer State Park to make at least 1 stop for photos. We just rode through the park only stopping at the visitor center upon arrival.

The number of animals we saw as we went through Yellowstone, 6 grizzlies which included the famous #399 and her cubs.

From start to finish, all the details were taken care of. I learned a lot from the guide and our driver was safe.

We loved having a well informed Tour Guide who shared information about our destinations we would not have known otherwise. We also thoroughly enjoyed having a driver so we could sit back and enjoy the sights and didn’t have to worry about getting lost.

Loved Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. It snowed while we were in Yellowstone and I think that made it even more beautiful.

Every experience was great. I would recommend this tour to everyone.

Ride through Yellowstone National Park in the snow, dining in Rapid City, South Dakota

Grand Tetons —actually not on schedule but we were taken on a short drive to great spots to see the mountains. So glad we did because the next day when we drove from Jackson Hole to Yellowstone, the view was obscured with clouds and rain.

Tour guide was very adept at coming up with an alternate plan when weather interfered with original route on third day. I personally enjoyed the Jackson Hole area the most. I had visited Yelllowstone and the Rapid City area on a previous trip.

The most memorable part was seeing the geysers in Yellowstone Park and the hills of the Badlands.

I was fascinated by the geological eruptions, mud pots, geysers, hot springs.

The tour was on the top of my bucket list and did not disappoint. My only disappointment was the construction at Mt. Rushmore, which I know will only make the attraction better. I think that the Badlands in South Dakota was a highlight. Our tour manager, Ann, was very informative.

It was a good tour, not excellent. I was disappointed that the raft trip in Jackson Hole was no longer included in this tour. Instead, a visit to an art museum replaced it. That turned out to be mostly wasted time. Rafting seemed to be the thing to do at Jackson Hole in the summer months. That would have been an excellent western experience. The best and most enjoyable "cowboy" thing on the trip was the chuck wagon dinner in Jackson Hole where you ride to the dinner in a covered wagon. There was too much time in Jackson to just walk around the town and shop. We even arrived in Jackson by 1230 PM with nothing planned for that day except to walk around, eat lunch someplace and shop. One couple happened to find out there was a rodeo that evening. I would have been nice if our tour guide had told us about that. There should have been some optional activities to take in Jackson..The Collette brochure for this trip should be revised to eliminate the iconic photo of the red barn in front of the Grand Tetons. You will not see this location on this trip. That spot was apparently not far from where we were but the tour guide said it is not on our itinerary. Really enjoyed seeing Yellowstone. The scenery was beautiful, but animal sightings were disappointing unless you were on the "right" side of the bus. Our hotel in Yellowstone was just a short walk from Old Faithful allowing you to see it several times. However, the most photographed thermal feature, the Grand Prismatic Spring, was a short drive away, but our tour guide told us that was not on the agenda and that there was not room there for a bus to park. A satellite view of that feature shews at least 15 bus parking spaces. Deadwood, SD was a neat town with an excellent local guide. Not enough time there, especially when that is also your lunch stop. That happened at the Cody Museum and Crazy House site as well.

Best part of this trip is Yellowstone National Park. CODY Museum, Badlands, Grand Tetons. Well everything!

Bus driver and tour guide were amazing.

I took a tour from you to the UK and it was fabulous. Our tour guide was terrific, knowledgeable, and helpful. We had very little down time and she always told us where to get served quickly. I think going over a long holiday weekend wasn't the best. We waited in one restaurant for dinner for a half hour and then the seating wasn't very good. I did have a good time. The driver was terrific and the scenery was fabulous. There were a few things I missed that I think could have been included. My favorite was the Chuck Wagon Dinner. It was the best!! The family was so talented.

Loved all the visited sites. We even got a chance to see Devils Tower, which was a surprise ❤️

Tetons and and badlands. Cody museums

Everything we expected and more. The Tetons were displayed with clear blue skies. Yellowstone was amazing. The museum in Cody, WY. was very nice. Rapid City and Mt. Rushmore was a second visit for us. The Bison herd at Custer State Park was very large.

I got to see Mount Rushmore at night and see Yellowstone, old faithful and The Inn at Yellowstone. All places on my bucket list.

Guides and driver were all excellent. They were knowledgable and personable. They showed great care and soon realized pat needed some accommodations, even to having food served at Chuckwagon dinner so he did not have to handle a tray. The museums were excellent..could have used more time at wildlife art museum or Buffalo Bill museum.

I liked the "add-on" visit to the Minuteman Missle SALT Museum. Having said that, all the stops were good.

America's Cowboy Country tour was excellent. Enjoyed all the sites, cities and nation's parks and scenery. Collette's staff was exceptional. Never a question unanswered, professional, polite, and went above & beyond when we got delayed by airlines. A fabulous trip, will be using Collette again.

Tour didn't meet expectations. Some advertised activities were cancelled because they were closed for the season.

In general, included food was palatable but very unremarkable, very average.

There where many nice experiences , we did and saw a lot. We came home tired and happy to be home.

everything was just great. we had a lot of fun and made some friends that we are going to visit next month. the only thing that i was disappointed in, which you could not do anything about, was the monuments. i thought they would be a lot bigger.

just said it was wonderful from lodging to tours .

The whole trip was great and packed with wonderful things to see. We loved the cowboy cookout and music experience, but my favorite was seeing the Buffalo.

It was a well planned and thought tour. We saw everything we had wanted to see and more. We didn't have to spend hours planning the trip, and we saw more because we weren't the ones doing the driving.

Places we visited were just wonderful. Full of history and nature and just awe inspiring I loved every minute of it

Too many to pick one that really stands out. The float trip down the Snake River, the jeep safari through the buffalo herds, the drive through Yellowstone, watching Old Faithful and the guided tour, the stop at a small restaurant selling home made pies, the Badlands, the small church in the Tetons, Wall drug for delicious lunch and malts-can't pick any one thing!

Perfect tour guide and awesome tour with lots of inclusions and some added surprises. Couldn't have been better.

I had several "favorite" experiences. If I had to pick one I would say it would be seeing Old Faithful as well as all of Yellowstone Park. It was breathtaking. Collette had a step on guide and that really added to the experience

REALLY LIKED THE TOUR. FOR THE MOST PART THE GROUP IN THE TOUR WERE GOOD TRAVEL COMPANIONS.

Tour manager and bus driver had a constant ******* contest the entire time. This turns an otherwise great vacation into a "vacation from hell". With the number of companies that offer guided tours there is absolutely no reason to choose Collette.

Poor choice for Welcome Chuck wagon dinner. Not enough time @ Yellowstone. Dinner arrangements poor. $70 for dinner &"tour of Rapid City" poor. Visit to Mt. Rushmore unsatisfactory.

Good complete trip. Offering more choices for activities would give people options

As mentioned above. I am not sure that the ratings should go from "excellent" to "good" to "poor" I would rate some as very good (overall tour) and "average" for example, the Tour Manager. The local guides were excellent, all of them! We saw some beautiful sights!

Snake river float trip. Grand Tetons

Our favorite was the white-water rafting (Dave Hansen) and photos!! Badlands were a BEAUTIFUL surprise ~ grandson climbed them! Mt. Rushmore ceremony at night was outstanding and patriotic! Many from our group are vets and went onstage and were so moved they couldn't talk back on the coach. Great idea to see it at night.(and former tour guide told us to sit upstairs which was better!)

Yellowstone the animals had wonderful timing

The Cowboy Tour is an excellent choice. Although there are many spectacular Things to see. The White Water Scenic Raft Ride is a great experience. See the Spectacular scenery of the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone is overwhelming. Seeing "Old Faithful" in person after many years of reading and seeing other people's picture is breath taking. Riding across the state of Wyoming is truly amazing when you see the amount of open land. Going to Cody, WY and getting to see the building of the West through the center at Buffalo Bill Cody. Then we were off to Rapid City, SD and many more sites. Deadwood, SD where we got to see more history in Wild Bill Hickcock and to see where he was shot and the ride to MT Moriah Cemetery where Wild Bill and Clamity Jane were burred. It was amazing to see the sites and hear the history of this nation. More to see in the Bad Lands, and the other sites of Buffalo that were up close and personal. They cross the roads in front of cars and buses. You just have to sit tight and let them pass. In Rapid City there is a life side statue of a past president on each corner. Then you get to see MT. Rushmore with the Four Presidents in stone.

So many wonderful sights, hard to choose. We were so impressed with the museum in Cody, one of the best we've seen, the jeep tour thru Custer State Park, the tour guide and time in Yellowstone, to name a few.

The 14 mile river float trip was amazing! The scenery and wildlife is magnificent . Best vacation ever experienced. Collette is first class service and value!

Rafting down the Snake River was definitely a highlight of the trip, as was getting within a few feet of the bison herd on our jeep ride. Seeing 10 bald eagles was a bonus. The scenery is just beautiful, no matter where you look. Enjoyed the entire trip and all of the places which were included. However, I would eliminate Crazy Horse, but leave everything else in. The hotels were very nice with the exception of the accommodations at Yellowstone. There was barely any light in the rooms and the soap was in containers fastened to the sink and the shower wall so they were not moveable and were hard to reach (you couldn't take a bath there). They did have a great breakfast and dinner. As a matter of fact, all of the meals were very good, including those at the two chuck wagon dinners and the entertainment on both these occasions was excellent. I do think this trip should be rated a 2 at least. It is a little more difficult than the 1 which the brochure stated. I did not have a problem, but my traveling companion did as did some of the other people on the trip. Overall it was great!

The float down the snake river was the best. Wish there was a different inclusion besides a dinner.
