You’re a leisurely traveler. You like to discover the energy of a new place, but typically take it easy. You can handle at least one flight of stairs, board a coach, and walk for 15-30 minutes at a time with little difficulty.
You like a balanced approach to travel. You feel confident walking at least 30-45 minutes at a time over a variety of terrains – from cobblestones streets to easy straightaways to a couple hills or flights of stairs. You’re comfortable walking a few city blocks at a time, but need some time to unwind and relax.
You’re an on-the-go traveler. You don’t want to miss a thing, so walking and standing for longer periods of time (1-2 hours) isn’t a big deal. You can navigate hills and uneven ground, climb into various modes of transportation (tuk-tuk, cable car, zodiac, etc.), and could possibly anticipate changes in elevation. Rose garden was not open ( roses not due to bloom until July. Could not get to the lighthouse the road was closed Many of the hotels were not well located Dinner one night was terrible chicken steak with gray gravy rice with gray gravy frozen mixed vegetables Terrible! Twice we were taken to grocery shores for lunch ( these were not included) but how about finding a restaurant

This was a great tour. You couldn't ask for a better tour manager, Jean, or a better bus driver, Lance. They really made everything run smoothly. They worked so well together it was a pleasure traveling with them. I would have liked to have a ride up the Space Needle included in the tour (we only saw it from the "outside") and although the hotels were certainly more than acceptable, the one in Seattle and the one in San Francisco were not very accommodating.

Portland hotel not ready, meals rushed, Logging Camp not good, too much driving, timing was wrong time of year for blooms, too many ocean stops, San Francisco tour was disappointing. To me, San Fran should be left off and more time for sights in Redwoods, Seattle, and Portland, Less driving, although the bus and driver were wonderful !

I feel the timing for seeing points of interest was not adequate , we were rushed through and didn't see sights that interested us in booking this trip . WE ARRIVED TOO EARLY OR TOO LATE TO SPEND TIME AT SOME PLACES. Some sights were only pointed out in passing . This area needs revision.

We had to wait for our transportation to the hotel. We had missed dinner. The tour director had something from the dinner for us at the hotel. It was supposed to be clam chowder, salmon with potato fingerlings, asparagus, creme brule, and a glass of white wine. It was very cold clam chowder, cold salmon with, I think, quinoa. There was no microwave or any other way to warm it. On our "tour of Seattle we saw the Space Needle while the tour director talked about the guitar selection some man had I can see shopping areas like Pike Place any time I want to go downtown.. On Day 2 when we got to Mount St. Helen's visitor center, it was closed when we arrived so we drove on. At the Rose Test Garden we left before the shop opened. Day 4 we cannot go into the lighthouse, but we got to go shopping at Fred Meyer. The Redwoods were very nice. Day 7 for breakfast I put in my order at the same time as the two ladies with whom I was sitting. They had finished eating when mine arrived "stone cold." I would not recommend Mel's Diner to anyone. The best vacation I have taken was with Collette to Australia and Fiji. However, I will also say this was the worst vacation I have taken, also with Collette.

If this was my first tour with Collette, I would never travel with them again. However, I have been on great tours with them previously and will try to put this one out of my mind. Who goes to Seatle and doesn't see the space needle? Who makes the plane reservations so that you arrive too late for the Welcome Dinner and on the return flight arrive a day late? Who sets up events so you arrive before they open or after it closes? What tour guide says "look to your left and maybe you will see Mt. Saint Helens (Mt. Hood, Mt. Ranier). Oh, let us not forget that if you are lucky, you might see the dome of Olympia. The list of complaints goes on and on.

Good trip,did not like the last operating lumber-camp style cookhouse in the West. Only one waiter for the entire group & not very tasty food. Did not like that the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown did not have a concierge on staff to assist with directions with our group. Did not like that the departure luncheon was at lunch in a public venue. We should have had the tour manager and coach for the entire day.

Staying in a motel instead of a hotel is not what I expected from Collette! Leaving luggage outside room where anyone can take it, is NOT secure. Several meals were terrible! The cookhouse was very poor. The last lunch buffet was another poor choice. Some of the excursions were cancelled due to weather which I understand. Why weren’t we compensated in some way? After years of travel with Collette, this was the most disappointing!

Very good service. Our bus driver, Brent, and Janice went out of their way to make us all comfortable and cared for.

We were unable to go to Mt. Hood because of snowy weather and our trip to Eureka, Ca. was cancelled due to the power outage. We missed traveling down the California coast line and visiting the red wood trees. We did stop at a stand of red woods which were beautiful. Our stay in San Francisco coincided with Fleet Week and it was very busy. We were dropped off at the wharf after our city tour and left to find our way back to our hotel. The buses we were told to take stopped running at 4:00 pm and we walked back. Not easy.

Told of her personal experiences, not too much info on what we were doing or seeing. In conclusion there was no comparison to my first week, which was extremely enjoyable.c

The tour was great. We saw so much; however, could not see Mt. St. Helens or Mt. Hood due to fog. The cable cars were all in for maintenance, which was disappointing but certainly not Collette’s fault. Whenever we came across something we couldn’t do, our tour guide came up with a replacement. We had beautiful, clear days in San Francisco and could see the entire Golden Gate Bridge and everything else. Met some great people from all over the country and the world. Touring San Francisco was my favorite part of the trip.

I would never travel with Collette again. Our agent did not provide her telephone number when I had an emergency to deal with. The tour ended on a Sunday at noon, but our departure was scheduled for Monday. No tour representatives were available on Monday. Considering the price I paid for this tour, we had to pay for 7 of the meals.The tour representatives talked constantly on everything and anything and looked unprofessional in her appearance. The only highlight was the bus driver who provided excellent service. The remainder of this tour I am still trying to forget!

Collette’s service is superb. This was my 4th trip with Collette and it didn’t disappoint! The tour Mgr, Abby, & the driver, Brent, were fabulous. The trip itself was well paced & I felt I really got my money’s worth. My only suggestions are in regard to the Portland & Eureka hotels. Both were quite a ways from downtown & I would have preferred to be able to easily walk around the downtown area if each town, especially Portland, a bit on my own. As a solo female traveler I am reluctant to travel far from the hotel in the eve if it’s an area I’m not familiar with. Other than that the trip was great!

Would have preferred direct flights - too much time spent getting to Seattle. Then you had the couple from Brooklyn Park wait for our flight to arrive before they could get home. Can't really fault the service other than we found the early start time each day rather too early for our liking. Having to get up at 6am to get cases packed and ready, have breakfast and be ready to leave was all a bit much. The Pacific North West was spectacular. The redwoods, the scenery, Both Seattle and San Francisco.We would definitely recommend adding on extra days before and after as we did. More time to explore Portland would have been nice.

I loved the tour with one exception, the seating on the bus. I spent the majority of the trip on the back third of the bus. I loved the places we stayed, visited, and ate. The other tour guests were friendly and respectful. The tour guide, except for the bus seating, was caring and made arrangements for all of us. I would definitely take another Collette tour, making sure I was not on the back of the bus for more than half the trip.

I appreciated the hard work of the tour manager to help things to flow with ease. The seating arrangements on the bus were tough, and sitting in the back third of the bus for 5 out of the seven days was not fair and placed a damper on the trip. Many people complained but no changes were made. This is my only concern.

Their had to be a more fair way to arrange this.

Both went out of their way to help each person have a good time. Loved the transports to & from the airport. Each arrived early & clearly identified themselves. The only change I would make would be to the restaurant selected for dinner in San Francisco - it was entirely too loud making table conversation absolutely impossible without raising my voice.

We had a wonderful tour guide named Becky that made the trip wonderful. She did lots of little extra's to make the trip even better! Rodney was our bus driver and did an excellent job, and was also very helpful at all times.

Becky and Rodney were 5 stars, the trip itself was only 4 star. The tour was an average trip. The solar eclipse was the most memorable experience, made so by Becky furnishing the entire bus with the solar glasses so we could watch the entire eclipse. Also the many stops along the coast at all the little towns.

Everything went as smoothly as possible with as many people as they were responsible for. I enjoyed the special efforts Janice Parks showed us.The videos shown for each area we traveled through, and the information given to help us learn as much as possible about things we saw, will help us remember the wonderful west coast from Seattle to SanFrancisco. The main reason I chose this trip was to see the California Redwoods. I was able to cross that off my 'bucket list'! I will remember that forever. But the coastline of Oregon was absolutely beautiful, mile after mile. We had a wonderful variety of meals, including a picnic on the beach. Our driver quickly spotted a FIELD FULL OF ELK!.(somewhere in the vicinity of Gold Beach Ca.) We were able to stop and enjoy the sight and get pictures .

This is the second Collette tour we've taken in North America. We were pleased with both, but I noticed there were not as many "surprise" add-ons on this tour as there were on our first to the Canadian Rockies. This is a plus as far as I'm concerned as I like to know my costs upfront. The tour was very well planned out and well executed thanks in large part to our fabulous tour manager,*Personal Details removed by Feefo*, and our driver *Personal Details removed by Feefo*. Both of them KNOW their jobs, and in my opinion that can make or break a tour. Our Tour Guide's enthusiasm, knowledge and personality all made the trip more fun. I didn't fall asleep once on the bus as I've been prone to do on other bus trips. My only criticism would be of the Portland City tour and the dinner that followed. I think I remember hearing that the guide was substituting for the regular, but I felt we just wandered around the city with no set route. We must've passed some of the same locations 2 or 3 times. The dinner that followed was very poor service and not what most expected. Our Tour Guide made up for that though by treating us to donuts the next morning. The answer is "YES" I would take another Collette tour especially if *Personal Details removed by Feefo* would be my tour guide!

For the most part, the tour itself was impeccably planned and carried out. Two most memorable experiences of the trip were not part of the tour - the Spaceneedle in Seattle and the Dale Chihuly presentation which we did on our own before the tour began. The redwood forest and coastal drive were the highlights of the tour itinerary. Hotels were good, and overall everything went quite well.

Could improve bathroom stop at casino when sleeping in another casino that night. Might add a few more short videos showing where we were not stopping giving a better overall view of things.

However, the casino wasn't the greatest but the worst hotel was in Eureka, CA. Absolutely no good restaurants in the town and the hotel has seen better days. That hotel needs a complete renovation! So, other than two or three hotels the rest of the trip was fine. Enjoyed the scenery very much.

With deep regret I am writing you my thoughts on our trip to the Pacific Northwest. Maybe comparing my past trips to Italy is comparing Apple to Oranges, however, I thought Collette quality was Collette quality. My 1st two trips to italy was through Grand Circle, which was beyond words, from the itinerary to the restarants but mostly the tour guides. With this in mind, when I saw your tour to Italy/Sicily it was with hesitation that we booked with Collette because of our wonderful experience with Grand Circle. Low and beyold, the Collette trip to Italy/Sicily was phenomonal and the tour guide ***** was Superb! It was because of our delight with***** we booked the trip to the Pacific Northwest where we had tour manager ***** He was horrendous! No personality, no enthusiasm for his job and the travelers with him. The first day we were in Seattle we had to rely on the hotel for written materials, ****** was no where to be found! When we finally got together as a group there were no introductions, no one was recommended to where name tags so we could get to know one another! He said very few words the first night on the bus! Where was that super tour guide we were so used to having with Collette? He is far from a positive employee and representative of your company. There were multiple complaints from the many travelers with us. We had a much better experience with the Muir Wood Bus Gray line driver/guide then our whole experience with ******* He has no personality, something that working with people is a must! I feel most of our experience was a negative due to this man. Im sorry im being so negative myself, but im really doubtful that we will take another tour with Collette, I'm really nervous that we will get another BORING GUIDE! He never went above and beyond, never gave a real flavor of the area! Any questions that we asked most times were not answered. Previous guides would have an answer by the next day.

Not enough time in Seattle. Portland downtown area was horrible and would have liked it better if would have stayed in a better area. Too many hotel changes. Tour director, *Personal Details removed by Feefo* was curt and at times, rude. He did impart info about the areas we saw but really made many people angry. It seemed that he was annoyed if he was asked questions. Very disappointed. Did give good recommendations about restaurants. Bus driver was very nice. We were amazed to have to pay for an evening city tour with our own tour director.

Unfortunately this trip left a lot to be desired. First of all, it was not an 8 day tour. We were finished with Collette by noon time on Saturday (the 7th day). The Tour Manager was less than adequate. At times the bus driver was better informed then him. The lady he had giving us the tour of Seattle was not good at all. During the walking part she could only be heard by the few people right next to her. At times we rode for extended times in silence while passing some interesting agricultural areas that would have been nice to learn about. We even passed wineries and distilleries that would have been nice to visit. The time spent at the Casino/Hotel was awful. You had to walk through the smoke filled casino to get to the restaurants and to even get to the smoke free part of the casino.The corridors walking to your room had that tobacco smell. To top it off, the air conditioner on the bus stopped working and we had to ride approximately an hour with temperatures outside pushing 100. With a lot of senior citizens on that bus it got pretty unsettling. The manager seemed more concerned with staying on schedule than the well being of the passengers. The driver was finally able to resolve the problem when we stopped for something cold to drink. We have traveled with Collette before and had an absolutely fantastic experience so needless to say this was very disappointing. We even heard a couple of people say that they would not travel with Collette again.We did see some wonderful sites but the whole trip could have been so much better. All the hotels with the exception of the Casino were excellent. The woman that did the City Tour of San Francisco was excellent. We would definitely consider traveling with Collette again but would make sure it was not this same Tour Manager.

Overall the tour was good in that we saw the Red Woods, the Rose Garden and many wonderful natural beautiful areas. The stops at Mt. St. Helens Visitors Center and the Timberline Lodge were not that spectacular and were only rest stops, with nothing to view. In Portland our stay was in Tigard, where we made 10 minute stop at the hotel! Then, after an already long day on the bus, it was another hour to get to the River Cruise in Portland, an hour back! Too much wasted time on the bus!!! The Rose Garden tour was the best, but should be part of the tour and not an optional tour, since it was so much better than the stops mentioned above!!!

The overall activity level of this tour is a level 2. This means you like a balanced approach to travel. Walking two to three miles over the course of a day is no problem for you. You can partake in a two-hour leisurely walking tour, covering up to two miles (with included breaks). You can handle a variety of terrains, from cobblestone streets to moderate hills with relative ease and without assistance. You can climb two flights of stairs with ease. There may be 1 to 2 days on this tour when walking tours can cover 3 to 4 miles over uneven terrain. Expect some full days balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. You can handle altitudes up to 6,000 feet.
