Our tour manager, Jen, was fantastic, as was our driver. We enjoyed all of the sites, but would have preferred that the optional tours were available without food. I had read other reviews that thought there was too much free time for shopping, but we found the free time was wonderful for exploring things other than shops. The highlight of the tour was definitely jekkyl island. Such a nice way to wind down after being “busy”.

The breakfast at the 1st hotel in Charleston was less than average. The hotel in Savannah was nice and a great location but the street noise kept us up the 1st night. We didn't realize they had a sound machine in the room. Using that plus an app on our 2 phones helped immensely. The guide for walking tour of Savannah was not great. She rushed through the tour and didn't really share any information or history between spots of interest. All other guides were great. The Jekyll Island resort was fantastic! Overall a wonderful tour!

All the tour guides were excellent. The food at the included restaurants was very good but could have been served hotter (in temperature). The hotels were okay. I was disappointed that the view from my room at the Jekyl Island Club Resort was awful (roof tops, a/c units, dumpster). The surroundings were ablaze with Christnas lights/decorations; it would have been such a joy to have seen them from my room windows! The farewell festivities and dinner were wonderful..

This was our first trip and the only complaint we have is the food experience. We enjoyed the company, tour guide and bus driver. The event choices were good and the guide had to make adjustments due to weather conditions to keep us safe and she was amazing.

Ann was an excellent guide-made good accommodations when the weather prohibited our scheduled events. My husband and I both learned so much about the Underground Railroad at the First African Baptist Church in Savannah.

The trip exceeded our expectations as to pick up delivery from and to the airport, quality of the hotels and ease at getting into and around the attractions. We liked landing in Jackson Ville, Fl but there should be something to see moving to the Low country. Not all of us enjoy shopping so St Simon’s needs another stop. Same with Charleston. Really enjoyed Jekyll island, one more day there please,and Savannah. Please change the restaurant at Charleston, food too fried and dessert too hard.

The guides on the tour were very helpful and well informed. Our local tour guide left a lot to be desired. I'm not a very experienced traveler and thank goodness I was with someone who was because our local guide did very little to help the travelers. She was the last one to arrive the morning of our departure to meet out shuttle bus to the airport and did little to greet us. Also at the end of our trip upon arriving at our final airport and our loading on the shuttle for the trip back home she got on the bus and sat down, the driver was ready to leave when she said "maybe I should check to see if everyone is here" and then she counted. On the whole tour she seemed more like one of the guests and not a guide. I would travel with Collette again, but NOT with your local representative. Also she is not physically capable of the duties!

Had a great time and Collette covered all the bases. Transportation, hotels, and meals were very good. Chuck Tracy was an outstanding tour guide. The only hiccup was the missed flight on our return to Bradley. Connecting flights with a very short layover probably not ideal during winter months when you have a higher risk of weather related delays. The running through the airport to try to make the connection was brutal.

Jekyll Island was absolutely beautiful. The Christmas lights, the tram tour with the outstanding guide, and the delicious breakfast were some of my favorites on this trip. Also thoroughly enjoyed the stop at driftwood beach. The Christmas carols was not a highlight and suggest maybe some other form of holiday festivities. Wish we had more time to explore the island and the shops.

Great tour with guide Chuck Tracy and driver John! Loved Jekyll Island and would have enjoyed another day there. My favorite places were Dune Beach, Angel Tree, and Driftwood Beach, but not long enough time spent at beaches. Too much shopping for me, but otherwise great tri.

In REGARDES to Reservation # 960367 It was great, we had a very good tour guide , she was informed & had a lot of knowledge on the history, kind & patient, the bus driver the same way, very good driver & kind---food was great hotels wonderful, & service people everywhere kind & helpful, but I dont know if your tour guide knew that,we never did get on our flight from Jacksonville Intl airport wouldn't leave because of congestion in the airport at DALLAS They said it was,very congested on Nov. 9th, no weather problem, so we got a hotel room at Double tree by Hilton, & flew out the next day, I really think American airlines should have reimbursed us---$150.00 for room & our meals--- Thanks---Beverly Larson --We love Collette---or COLLETTE, should Trip was from Nov.3 to Nov.9th SOUTHERN CHARM

The trip to the Smokey Mountains was a great trip, and I'm happy that I went. I will be purchasing several more trips in the near future. I hope in the future that the elderly and the handicapped are given some consideration. For example, the hotels we staid at, were outstanding, the bathrooms had beautiful marble walls and same color tubs, I am legally blind, I would have preferred a walk in shower and hand rails in case I got into trouble. CNN boasted the worlds single longest escalator, 8 stories, 197 feet. It would have been nice to have access to an elevator, instead of walking down the 8 flights of stairs.

A hotel in Charleston in an area closer to the attractions and shopping would have made it better, plus avoiding Jacksonville perhaps for an additional night at Jekyl Island. Also, Collette should include the tips on the transfers just as they do on the limo service. The travel guide was very good and otherwise the agenda was fine.

This was a disappointing tour and not a good value.

This was not a well-planned tour and, therefore, not a good value for the cost. There was way too much "free" time which caused arranging supplemental activities at additional cost. We have already sent an email with our feedback and have not gotten a response. We suffered from bed bug bites towards the end of the tour. One of your representatives is handling this matter. So, this trip was a very disappointing experience overall. We had enjoyed the "Canyon Country" trip last year which was quite different from this one!

Pearl Frye's garden was my highlight of the tour. I've followed Pearl for several years online though the American Horticulture Society. We didn't get to meet him (he is ill) but met and talked with his wife, who was a delight.

Very good tour. All tour guides were very good. Happy that Chuck the Tour Manager suggested on going on the Dolphin cruise. I appreciated that he was willing to send us his pictures from the Tour. This was voluntary on his part and on the travelers to receive them. The Farewell Dinner tasted good but it wasn't "special". I've gone on several Collette Tours and they were able to make it more special. The pork loin and chicken tasted good but I can easily have it at home. I liked the first group dinner better. They did have some serving issues but they did try really hard.

I really enjoyed Jekyll Island. Very pretty. Great accommodations. Enjoyed the optional Dolphin cruise. Enjoyed walking around Savannah and Charleston. Only complaint is even though the hotel was very nice in Jacksonville there really wasn't very much to do at that location. It was the downtown business area. Did walk along the river. But the complex near by was pretty much empty of any businesses. Just a few bar type businesses. Maybe try to find a better located hotel in the future.

I loved our tour guide. Jay Tehran. The train ride was too long and the bus ride to see the mountains was too long. I somehow thought we would be hiking along somewhere. The restaurant on our good-bye dinner was awful!!!

When I originally booked this trip St. Augustine was included however this trip it was not and we were never advised. There was quite a bit of "nothing" time. We realize the hurricane did affect some closures in Savannah however there should have been a back-up plan.

First, this was a rescheduled trip. Collette failed to tell my friend and I that one city from the April trip was deleted from the October trip with no replacement. I would not have rescheduled the trip had I known this. Secondly, we were impacted by Hurricane Michael and an excursion was cancelled along with a museum visit. Although Collette refunded monies paid as well as the museum fee, they did not replace it with anything else so we had too much time on our own. If we had gone in April, a walking tour of Savannah was a part of the trip. We only got a tram tour fir a few hours and we're not able to walk around the city with a guide. An additional walking tour for those of us interested would not have cost Collette any additional monies. Very disappointing trip. Our tour guide Jan Lowe was excellent and made up for some of the disappointment with her calming and warm disposition.

Jekyll Island was the highlight of the tour for me. Savannah would have been another highlight had there been a walking tour.

I would buy from them again, but I'm not happy with how their Accounting Office has resolved our credit from a cancelled additional Tour option we purchased. Tour was a bit too much time on the bus, I and others felt, did some back tracking, it appears. Tour mgr was good, and very accommodating.

This trip was the worse trip we have taken with Collette. We have been on approximately 10 tours and have always been pleased - until we were on this trip. The tour manager was mediocre. I did not feel that the experience was worth what we paid for the trip. It may be a while before we travel with collette again. This trip left a bad taste in my mouth.

The cities are lovely cities - loved Jekyl Island. Thought you could have done better in Savannah. The trip to Tybee Island was a "rip off".

You did not run the trip before. This was the first time you ran it in the direction we went on. The last day the bus broke down and the one we were transferred to had no air conditioning and was greatly reduced in size. The experience was awful. Our hotel rooms weren't ready for us at the first two stops. The horse drawn wagon in Charleston crammed us into the seats--4 to a seat. This is too many people to a seat--especially when some people are over-weight. The trip should have been scheduled for 2 more days. We didn't get to take a paddle wheel boat ride or visit Fort. Sumter. Having just seen Savannah on a morning bus ride was not enough to get to know Savannah.

Our tour manager, Jane Pritchett, was excellent. She was very kind,caring, funny, just a delight to be around. Our driver, Tony Freeman, was also excellent, an amazing driver! We were thrilled with our southern charm tour and loved Jekyll Island the most. We have recommended Collette to friends and family. We have already booked our 5th tour, the Alaskan land and sea for June.

Loved the southern charm tour! St. Augustine was very interesting and all the stops to Charleston. We were thrilled to spend two nights at Jekyll Island, we would go back again. We climbed to the top of the St. Simon's lighthouse, what a thrill. We loved Savannah, a very unique city. Charleston had so much charm also.

******, the tour manager, had everything flowing smoothly. The driver was especially helpful to those of us with mobility problems. We really enjoyed the hotels in Charleston and Jekyll Island. The hotel in Savannah was way below Collette's usual standards. Several of us had no water , and our room had not been cleaned. The bed still had socks from the previous tenant in the sheets when I pulled them back.

The Savannah hotel was sub-par. The bed linen hadn't been changed, found hair on the shower walls, and no water available during day because of construction. Jekyll Island resort was fantastic , staff was gracious and friendly, and the grounds wonderfully decorated for Christmas.

This is my fifth Collette trip. Collette is my choice because you all do such a good job of taking care of us on the tours. The drivers are always pros, the tour guides are knowledgeable and the tours are very interesting.

The Southern Charm tour was the first American tour I take with you and I really loved Charleston, South Carolina. I really liked our tour guide. She kept us on track, on time and she was kept us entertained and also gave us time on the bus to do our thing if we didn't want to watch the videos. The only glitch was the first night's dinner that was Italian food. We should have eaten Southern!

Tour Director was excellent--also coach driver. Only thing I could mention is the tour guide in Savannah. She was rude. We were walking in a graveyard and a couple of the people on the tour lagged behind somewhat--when she tried to rush then up, one of the people on our tour explained that a couple of them had some health issues that slowed them up somewhat. She said something to the effect that she was late 70-something in age and she was not going slow.

Better planning; take advantage of all time;do better job of walking pace

Planned visitations to sites better! Too much free time not knowing what to do. Tram ride for example. It was fine, but as long as you rented the tram why not stop for 15-20 minutes at the 7 or 8 sites that you think we should see. Instead we had a couple of hours of free time and didn't know the best way to use it. Walking tours were okay. Way to fast for some. Some members of our group were not able to keep up or able to see what the group saw. We walked by beautiful churches, etc and were not allowed by tour leader to even look inside!!

Was not happy with it. Too much free time. Not enough touring. Wasted one whole day in Charleston watching the rain instead of leaving earlier for Savannah so we could arrive early enough to take the trolley ride through historic Savannah. We got to Savannah too late for the trolley ride that day. We took one tour in the morning and then left for Jekyll Island.

A travel agent made the arrangements for us so I can not comment too much on the purchase experience. I would consider buying another tour through them again. Their prices do seem high.

First dinner that was included had bad food and service. Was told that sometimes this place was bad and sometime good. This restaurant should be replaced on the tour. Keeping a place like this is unfair to your customers. Should not have to pay for it. The Fountain of Youth Park was a waist of time. Very run down and did not enjoy at all. Should have done more walking on the Savannah tour. Could not see much from the tour bus, which didn't navigate the area very well anyway. Wish the brochure was more specific on areas we are touring so when we are on our own we don't check these spaces out first and then see them again. The hotel in Savannah had a terrible breakfast, hot food was cold. The house we toured in Savannah was OK. There are better ones to tour. Over all it was very nice but when you are paying that much you expect a little more. In all honesty the things we arranged on our own during free time and our day we got there early we liked the best.

Totally understand this logic.

Our group started early using a friend that just happens to work for Collette, Ginny Eaves. She found out what we were looking for and got it all arranged. I definitely would use Collette again and when mentioning it to others, they are reminded about your company. Getting our group of four there from various starting points so that we could arrive at about the same times worked well.

We had an amazing tour guide who was very personable, quickly learned everyone's names and did everything she could possibly do to make our trip informative, entertaining and memorable! I enjoyed all the destinations as we had been planning for this tour for two years to celebrate our monumental 60th birthdays and we were not disappointed! Jekyll island was a great starting point as it was relaxing and so historically fascinating! I specifically enjoyed the info about the "squares" in Savannah, the tour of the Citadel and my personal reason for the trip, touring the Juliette Lowe home as my friends and I grew up together as Girl Scouts. When our tour stopped for a second for all the Girl Scouts and Girl Guides to take a group picture on the back steps, my dream was achieved-there were nearly 20 of us! I also truly enjoyed getting to tour the Boone Hall plantation and see the slave quarters there. Overall, we had a great trip and appreciated the additional info we gained from our "guest tour guides" and enjoyed the food, companionship and other tour participants- we even set up a Facebook page to share pictures and keep in contact. Our Southern Charm tour was a great way to celebrate turning 60!

I/we had a first class tour leader and I learned so much of the US history. I had been to Charleston before many years ago but didn't see any other cities in the South. Unfortunately I am not an early morning person so the time table was a bit harsh for me (82 years) but I would certainly take a Collette Tour to other locations....but not a coach tour.

The extra meal that we paid $75,00 each was not worth it. Should have been about $35.00 each. The experience at Jekyll Island for 2 days was beautiful but it was like being on a deserted island with no stores or places to eat.

While we have had several very good trips, there have been some less than ideal details and in one case the nature of the tour did not offer what we expected.

We expected the tour to focus on the antebellum south, both the good and the bad, but only saw a slight exposure at the plantation. Although the tour was not at fault, we found the food in Charleston consistently overcooked and unpleasant. Further the two night stay was too long and should instead be reduced in favor of Savannah, which we loved. Similarly the time at Jekyll Island was excessive for what it offered. We would have enjoyed a night in Beauford instead. Consider this as from my husband Bob as well.

We planned to arrive in Charleston a day early to give us more time in the city. Collette failed to notify us of a change in our outbound flight. The new flight they booked us on arrived in Charleston after 9:00 P.M. - RIDICULOUS!!!!! I only found out because I called to inquire about something else and the person I spoke with asked me if I had been notified of the change in our outbound flight. After I complained, they were then able t book us on another flight that got us in at approximately the same time as our original flight.

I was especially pleased with the included meals and the variety of options available to us. In addition, all of the hotels were centrally located within easy walking distance of many interesting places. I was not particularly happy with our tour manager. I asked her for directions to a specific drugstore near the hotel (I had to pick up a script my doctor had called in for me). I was told it was a couple blocks and she pointed in a direction and said I couldn't miss it and walked away. After walking (at night in the dark) four large blocks, I asked a passerby who gave me very specific directions and then walked there with me. It was not even on the street, the tour manager set me out on. In addition, there was NO VISIBLE SIGN identifying the drugstore on the outside (probably a Charleston zoning
