We are actively monitoring the discussions in Congress over federal funding, and the potential impact on our tours visiting Federal Sites & National Parks across the United States.

Without an agreement between the House, Senate and White House, the government will shut down on Saturday September 30, 2023 at midnight. The impact to our Tours will be limited to those visiting some Federal Sites & National Parks across the country. Some states including Utah, Arizona and Colorado have indicated that they will provide the necessary funding to keep the National Parks operating. Other states are considering similar measures.

If we are unable to operate or your tour is altered due to the government shutdown, we will contact you directly prior to departure.

How Traveling Keeps Us Young at Heart

As I prepare to turn 40, I’m consciously trying to embrace all the great things that come with age—like wisdom, contentment, gratitude, and yes, even smile lines. I’m aware that there’s a perception that most people try to actively avoid growing older. And I’m happily here to say: I’m not having it. And I know that I’m not alone in this. So many are already clued into the not-so-secret secret that there’s nothing more beautiful than gaining perspective and experience with every turn around the sun.

The more experience I get in life, the more curious, vibrant, energetic, and joyous I’d like to become. That’s one of the best parts about travel; going on a trip and seeing someplace new sparks my inner child – and I know that our travelers often get out there in the big, wide world for that exact reason.

Travel is not quite a fountain of youth, but studies have shown that traveling improves the brain’s neuroplasticity, which helps keep your mind a little bit sharper and more agile. We also know that traveling can help inspire creativity, which can be elusive when we’re in a rut. It also relieves stress by removing you from the daily grind and giving you a fresh perspective on the world.

And how better to spark joy than by finally experiencing a destination you’ve been reading about your whole life? If having a Grand Canyon, Taj Mahal, Pyramid of Giza type of moment doesn’t bring you joy, then what will? Feeling the wonder and curiosity of a child when learning about a new culture or place? How about making a new friend? Connecting with other humans while sharing new experiences together? Pure joy!

Whether you’re 25 or 75, there’s a whole lot of living to be done. So go ahead and take that trip you’ve been dreaming of. It just might make you feel like a kid again, which is worth more than any anti-aging cream you can buy at the store.
