My suggestions for improvement:
I would like to have had less included meals. Some were delicious but some were just okay. My husband and would have preferred to select what we wanted to eat more times during the tour.
We wanted more down time and a slower pace. In looking back, much of my favorite moments were when we stopped touring for even just a few minutes to enjoy a cup of delicious hot chocolate or green tea, in a quiet place, but even that was rushed and no time to linger or even finish our delicious drink. We had to leave to stay on schedule. That exact thing occurred twice on the tour and we were disappointment both times.

Our tour of the Mediterranean Coastal Journey, far exceeded our expectations. The tour manager was absolutely amazing! Having been thrown some curveballs, especially when the rain and windy weather caused Cinque Terre to be closed! Barbara pulled together a tour of the Imperiale Palace for the next day, with a demo on making Pesto sauce, then each of us made pesto as well. I was so looking forward to Cinque Terre, but in the long run we had a great experience in Genoa. Also, the hotel there was lovely being located on the marina, and all the shops and restaurants were just across the street. I was not looking forward to our stay in Genoa but came away pleasantly surprised. Our group of 22 turned out to be incredibly friendly right from the beginning. All the restaurants were very good, she even surprised us with a 1* Michelin dinner experience in substitution for that evening dining experience having been cancelled, so we got to eat at the number 1 restaurant in Marseilles! I have to say that Barbara was responsible for getting the group off to a great start being together, with her great sense of humor, friendliness, being firm about the start time to be on the bus :-) She went above and beyond making the last night of our tour so very special for my daughter, being it was her actual birthday. It was all just perfect! Thank you, Barbara, what tour will you be leading next season? I would consider going on it knowing how you can handle even those last-minute curveballs!

This tour was a great way to see many beautiful locations all in one trip. It is pretty much a “sampler tour” of wonderful sites and cities along the Mediterranean coast. In Spain, France, and Italy. Really loved Barcelona, which had so much to offer. Cinque Terre and Portofino were visually stunning and fun to just walk around and take in the beauty. Amanda our tour guide was exceptional.

The four star hotels were no better than a stay at a Hampton Inn.
The group dinners were awful with a few exceptions. For us saying a group to eat at a ***** run facility that served horrible food with unacceptable.
Colette must have a contract with this sub standard chain called H 10 located in sketchy areas.
Save yourself the pain and grief and spend a little bit more money to go with a better company.

Skip Marseille, instead go to Aix-en-Provence. Marseille accommodation was not at the best place. Homelessness camped on the side of the hotel on the sidewalk. Or stay extra day in Nice or in Costa Prava.
Meals can be improved. There should be no same type of meals. Pot roast meals are cheap meals. The concept of the restaurant reserved in Marseille is good but the meal is not a common taste. Some guests were wondering what they ate .

Fantastic tour of the Riveria. Each country lends its own culture and identity to the Riveria. It was amazing to see the sights and history. We had local guides in all of the sights we visited. This gives you an insight into the locals and a view from a locals perspective. Tour Manager was excellant. Accommodations were 4 star or better and located right where you wanted to be. Highly recommend.

The tour was amazing. The pace was very active, seeing muliple attractions everyday. My watch said we averaged 5 miles a day. Only 3 optional experiences, everything was included. My only negative is the tour focused on the Mediterranean Riviera, the extension to Florence and Tuscony countryside did not fit with the rest of the tour. It should have ended in the Italian Riviera with more time spent along the way. Our Tour Manager was amazing. She really added energy to the group and made an effort to get to know us on an individual level. She made it fun.

Last hotel was an issue-they had turned off A/C and we had to leave windows open all night which brought noise, etc. It was an “OK” hotel but not much better.
This was a change from the original tour but was added, II believe, to do truffle dog tour. I would not do that again - would have preferred more time in cities.
Overall this tour is a tough one- lots of time in busses and not enough time at any stop.
Best part was tour guide!! He is exceptional and very informative.

Our tour manager, Ben, was always available, very punctual, and so well educated with the history and current affairs of Europe!....He spoke 5 languages and it was impressive to see him communicate with the tour guides in each of the 3 countries visited....
All local guides were impressive, but our favorites were the full day guides in Barcelona, Estrella; Jauquim? (Kim) in Costa Brava/Besalu, and Figeures; and our resident guide in Cinque Terre who was very knowledgeable and handled our group well on the train to both villages.
Costa Brava was an amazing surprise area and we were assigned an awesome seaview room, right over the shoreline!
Barcelona was also a great city to visit for walkability, public transit, port and seaside options.....tons to explore there! So clean and quiet and pedestrian friendly for a big city! What a nice surprise arriving at the 1700's family farmhouse on the outskirts for our group dining experience!!
Cinque Terre was a real beauty! Tons of tourists during peak season, but the atmosphere and views were spectacular!
The truffle farm owner was beyond enthusiastic and welcoming of our group! She was so proud of their family's heritage and hard work......she loved hosting us and providing us with our freshly hunted truffles atop her pasta lunch prepared!
Be aware that this tour does require a bit of physical stamina since it's 16 days long, visiting several regions, and the days are pretty full with tours. It is rather heavy-laden with multiple cathedral tours....
Hotels were all in great locations, except for the Tuscany area....it wasn't quite as authentic of a stay as I would have expected for the region. But all had exceptional breakfast service and offerings!
We're so glad that we experienced all of these regions in these 3 countries and were offered such and educational adventure!!

From the time we met the tour manager at the airport in Barcelona we knew the tour was going to be fun and interesting. I loved the medieval cities such as St. Paul de Vence and San Gimignano. The Mediterranean coast was incredible and the seafood great. One of the most fun things was truffle hunting with specially trained dogs and then enjoying a lunch on the front porch at the hunter's home. I am looking forward to my 2025 Collette tours.

This trip was amazing. Our Tour Manager, Mara, made the trip so enjoyable. She was not only knowledgeable, but her communication was outstanding. She prepared recommendations for things to do, places to go and restaurants for our free time. We would also receive the communication the day before so we had time to review. The balance of guided tours and free time was appreciated. Guided tours were well thought out. So many memorable experiences. Would have loved a baking or cooking class option but other than that, well planned tour! Have to compliment everyone on the tour. Great group of people who enjoyed the tour and each other.
