I enjoyed the trip, but it was much too. Hectic for me. too much. Rushing, suitcases out at 7 AM in the morning, too many hours on the bus. too much crammed into 2 weeks . maybe if I was 25, but I'm not. It would have been nice to have more information coming from the tour director. He was a lovely guy, but not much info as we traveled for hours on the bus. The hotels were beautiful, but we weren't there long enough to really enjoy them.. But we did visit so many beautiful places and saw so much in the 2 week trip. Surprised we didn't go to porto in Portugal, though. there were 1 or 2 other well known places that we missed.

Pickups at airports in Barcelona and on return trip from Madeira were not good, could not find drivers. Guides need to carry visible signage to locate them especially in congested areas. Overall tour was pretty good; we visited a lot of nice sites and meant a lot of nice people. Most group meals were pretty good, a little crowded at times. Tour manager made it enjoyable. Pace was busy at times in order to see everything.

Tour Manager did a great job at coordinating all events and accommodation on the tour. I feel he lacked information on the Spain and Portugal as far as green energy (wind and solar). I asked him the question and he said he didn't know and he would get back to me. He never did. He sent out YouTube videos on Spain . It would of been nice to have a time for follow-up questions on the videos. I think he lacks experience at doing this tour and will improve as he gains more self confidence. One of the 4 star hotels, H10 Puerta de Alcala in Madrid, needs updating. Bath room flooded and had to change room. Everything was worn-out and needed replacement. We also had an incidents involving our carry-on bags which contained vital medication with the tour manager and resulted us missing a dinner and night out. I was never satisfied when talking on the phone or with the lack of response from our tour manger. The countries were beautiful and our fellow travelers were fantastic. Collette’s emergency support is worthless. After my flight home was cancelled Collette told me to talk to the airlines and the airlines said I had to talk to Collette. I ended up rebooking myself and am now fighting with the airlines for a refund of my original flight. Would not recommend using the flight portion of a Collette tour.

Tour of 41 in a bus is too large for one guide to address all individual issues and group meals were not quality. Sites were nice, little free time in some cities, travel lunch stops at highway centers not great. Most hotels nice but a couple service issues. Lot’s tipping expect with each guide and delivery for each city. Had better experience with past Colette tours.

Tour Manager Eliana was excellent. Some accondations like Elva’s was just average although dinner brunch was good. I did upgrade Madrid accomdation in advance and than was suddenly b cancelled so that was disappointing. Group Dinner in Madrid , on April 14 was Squid on couscous. There was no squid and since was also my birthday, that was very disappointing. There seemed to be a rush to jam in several stops and organized walks so there was little to no time to spend on our own to shop. That should be addressed.

This was my first travel experience with a tour company. Overall, my experience was very good and positive: an excellent tour guide, saw a variety of cities and sights, stayed in comfortable accommodations, interacted with interesting folks on the tour, appreciated the nice bus, and so on. In the future, I would prefer to be in a much smaller tour group (40+ was far too many people) and spend more days in fewer places (staying in 7 cities/towns over 12ish days was too much). I could have skipped Toledo entirely, but realize that the overnight stay there made the drive from Madrid, Spain to Lisbon, Portugal easier. I wish that I had had more time in Lisbon and better weather. It rained every day that we were in Lisbon. I’d like to go back to Portugal to explore it more slowly. I’d suggest travelers consider staying extra days after the tour ends and visiting Porto. As I mentioned, it was an excellent learning experience that helped shape what I’ll look for on future travels, especially tours. Maybe Collette should consider offering a week tour of only Portugal .. 3-4 days each in 2-3 places.

The tour included many nice stops. The tour guide was very young and inexperienced, however, he made the tour enjoyable. The stop at Elvas was awful. The town was vacant and nothing was open for dinner. We had to eat at the hotel but they weren’t prepared to feed the entire tour group. That was poor planning! The hotel was beautiful but my room overlooked what looked like a slum with barking dogs all night. My favorite spot was Peñíscola where I would have like to spend more time. Also would have liked more shopping time alotted. Otherwise the trip was very nice and I would recommend it.

Lisbon was awesome as was the Island Maderia. One of the issues that upset me was the fact that the tour manager assumed that all of us had cell phones. He was texting all of his directions to everyone. I told him that wouldn't work with me. I don't own a cell phone. He did start giving some directions at night verbally, but I still didn't get all of his directions that he texted to everyone else.

Too long. What we saw was amazing, but many days were long bus rides and one-night stays having to unpack and repack with bags out by 7am. Really liked the places we stayed at least 2 nights, but 1-night stays and long bus rides detracted from enjoying the destinations. Every place had castles, mosques, churches with a few cathedrals. from the Jewish tradition we saw a couple of ghettos with tiny symbols, that **** were there. The one synagogue we visited was tiny and had been converted to a church before abandoned. The good opportunity to visit a larger, never converted synagogue was missed by visiting yet another church a few blocks away. I was told I didn't have time to visit it because the church tour would only take 20 minutes. I waited 45 minutes regretting not walking those few blocks for the slower than anticipated church tour group to meet at the designated place.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our tour manager was wonderful; she has a great personality and vast knowledge of the countries and their history. The accommodations were very good and included several 5 star hotels. The included lunches and dinners were also very good; never felt as if we were in a tourist restaurant. Our tour bus was immaculate and our driver was both expert and pleasant. The bus seats seemed kind of tight compared to the one we had on the Collette tour of Ireland in 2023. Not enough leg room-and we’re not especially tall people. Flights were ok, but wish we’d been able to book Premium Economy when we booked the tour. We were told it wasn’t a availsble at that time, and we were not notified when it became available, which was very frustrating. The Airbus on the flight to Spain was uncomfortable; the 767 on the return flight was much better, even in economy.

This was a very expensive bus ride going from one city to another looking at churches. There should have been more variety in the trip. We should have been given more time on our own. You should clearly state the amount of time spent on the bus rather than actually being in a city. In my opinion Collette put this agenda together not because it was fascinating but because filled the time with the least expensive way. Cut down on the number of cities/churches and give people more time to explore and enjoy where they are. This was my first tour ever and it has left a very bad impression. The people on the tour and the tour guide were the best part of the trip since I spent so much time with them on the bus. What a waste of time and money.

My husband and I typically travel independently, so I was ambivalent about a group tour. Overall, the pluses outweighed the minuses. Our tour manager was excellent and she made the trip a great experience. She provided lots of information about the places we visited including historical and cultural perspectives. Because of tips she gave us, we experienced things we otherwise would have missed (e.g. calcots in Barcelona, the river walk in Valencia, the beachwalk in Cascais, walking the wall around Obidos). The various group meals we had were quite good and often included entertainment too (watching our paella being made, musicians in Granada and Lisbon). But the pace of the trip was hurried. There were places we stopped for only a few hours and that made it difficult to have time to explore or enjoy a chance meeting or conversation with locals. I think the trip would be more enjoyable if it either lasted longer or didn't go to as many different locations in its current length.

Collette’s emergency support is worthless. After my flight home was cancelled Collette told me to talk to the airlines and the airlines said I had to talk to Collette. I ended up rebooking myself and am now fighting with the airlines for a refund of my original flight. Would not recommend using the flight portion of a Collette tour.

generic and too common-person touristy - not a lot of local knowledge and history - least common denominator approach to instructions, almost insulting

Our tour manager was most helpful, knowledgeable, and entertaining.. Our group of traveling companions was very diverse and fun to be with(don’t end a sentence with a preposition). The accommodations were outstanding! Our Bus driver Mike was very skilled and helped me find our group the first night. Wonderful experience Turning 80 in Portugal.

The tapas night was a waste of money and the last night of tour dinner was absolutely terrible food

Tour was well organized and hit the major sites. Tour manager was excellent. The accomodations were generally good a couple of very good, a couple of average hotels. Travel by bus was ok and well done with plenty of breaks.

I would have given 5 stars however our travel (flight) plan was almost inhumane!! Don't do that again...spend a few extra dollars and book times/layovers that are reasonable!! One tour (Myths and Legends of Valencia) was a waste of time and money...I think it was a substitute local tour guide and it was painful! Otherwise it was a MARVELOUS trip!

We had a wonderful tour guide and the sites were amazing. The only thing that I would like to have seen that we did not was Fatima, Portugal.
