This was my first travel experience with a tour company. Overall, my experience was very good and positive: an excellent tour guide, saw a variety of cities and sights, stayed in comfortable accommodations, interacted with interesting folks on the tour, appreciated the nice bus, and so on.
In the future, I would prefer to be in a much smaller tour group (40+ was far too many people) and spend more days in fewer places (staying in 7 cities/towns over 12ish days was too much). I could have skipped Toledo entirely, but realize that the overnight stay there made the drive from Madrid, Spain to Lisbon, Portugal easier. I wish that I had had more time in Lisbon and better weather. It rained every day that we were in Lisbon. I’d like to go back to Portugal to explore it more slowly. I’d suggest travelers consider staying extra days after the tour ends and visiting Porto.
As I mentioned, it was an excellent learning experience that helped shape what I’ll look for on future travels, especially tours. Maybe Collette should consider offering a week tour of only Portugal .. 3-4 days each in 2-3 places.

The hotel was beautiful but my room overlooked what looked like a slum with barking dogs all night. My favorite spot was Peñíscola where I would have like to spend more time. Too long. What we saw was amazing, but many days were long bus rides and one-night stays having to unpack and repack with bags out by 7am. Really liked the places we stayed at least 2 nights, but 1-night stays and long bus rides detracted from enjoying the destinations. Every place had castles, mosques, churches with a few cathedrals. from the Jewish tradition we saw a couple of ghettos with tiny symbols, that **** were there. The one synagogue we visited was tiny and had been converted to a church before abandoned. The good opportunity to visit a larger, never converted synagogue was missed by visiting yet another church a few blocks away. I was told I didn't have time to visit it because the church tour would only take 20 minutes. I waited 45 minutes regretting not walking those few blocks for the slower than anticipated church tour group to meet at the designated place.

The accommodations were very good and included several 5 star hotels. The included lunches and dinners were also very good; never felt as if we were in a tourist restaurant.
Our tour bus was immaculate and our driver was both expert and pleasant. The bus seats seemed kind of tight compared to the one we had on the Collette tour of Ireland in 2023. Not enough leg room-and we’re not especially tall people.
Flights were ok, but wish we’d been able to book Premium Economy when we booked the tour. We were told it wasn’t a availsble at that time, and we were not notified when it became available, which was very frustrating. The Airbus on the flight to Spain was uncomfortable; the 767 on the return flight was much better, even in economy.

This was a very expensive bus ride going from one city to another looking at churches. There should have been more variety in the trip. We should have been given more time on our own. You should clearly state the amount of time spent on the bus rather than actually being in a city. In my opinion Collette put this agenda together not because it was fascinating but because filled the time with the least expensive way. Cut down on the number of cities/churches and give people more time to explore and enjoy where they are. This was my first tour ever and it has left a very bad impression. Our tour manager was excellent and she made the trip a great experience. She provided lots of information about the places we visited including historical and cultural perspectives. Because of tips she gave us, we experienced things we otherwise would have missed (e.g. calcots in Barcelona, the river walk in Valencia, the beachwalk in Cascais, walking the wall around Obidos). The various group meals we had were quite good and often included entertainment too (watching our paella being made, musicians in Granada and Lisbon). But the pace of the trip was hurried. There were places we stopped for only a few hours and that made it difficult to have time to explore or enjoy a chance meeting or conversation with locals. I think the trip would be more enjoyable if it either lasted longer or didn't go to as many different locations in its current length.

Our tour manager was most helpful, knowledgeable, and entertaining.. Our group of traveling companions was very diverse and fun to be with(don’t end a sentence with a preposition). The accommodations were outstanding! Our Bus driver Mike was very skilled and helped me find our group the first night. Wonderful experience Turning 80 in Portugal.

The tapas night was a waste of money and the last night of tour dinner was absolutely terrible food

Tour was well organized and hit the major sites. Tour manager was excellent. The accomodations were generally good a couple of very good, a couple of average hotels. Travel by bus was ok and well done with plenty of breaks.

I would have given 5 stars however our travel (flight) plan was almost inhumane!! Don't do that again...spend a few extra dollars and book times/layovers that are reasonable!!
One tour (Myths and Legends of Valencia) was a waste of time and money...I think it was a substitute local tour guide and it was painful!
Otherwise it was a MARVELOUS trip!

We had a wonderful tour guide and the sites were amazing. The only thing that I would like to have seen that we did not was Fatima, Portugal.
