During her free time, she enjoys antiquing, walking her dog — a Lagotto Romagnolo (that's an Italian breed specialized in truffle hunting), and growing "Pra" basil to make her own homemade pesto.

The best time to go travel to Italy? It It depends on what you're looking for.
Central Italy is home to some of the world’s most treasured historic sites, but there’s much more to this region than ruins. Outside of cities like Rome and Florence, travellers love Umbrian hill towns like Spoleto and Assissi, and Tuscany’s Pienza, with its cypress trees, country roads, and green hills. If you want to beat the crowds, off season is best, with our favourite month being November, when it’s still relatively warm and harvest season means fresh olive oil abounds.
From the ultra-chic streets of Venice and Turin to lesser-known locales like Treviso and Bassano del Grappa, Northern Italy has a distinct culture all its own. Expect fewer crowds and mild weather during the off season (November through March), great skiing during the chilly Alpine winters, and beautiful, not-too-hot summers in seaside villages like Cinque Terre.
If the idea of hot, sultry, Mediterranean summers and mild, less-crowded winters appeals to you, Southern Italy offers no shortage of sun-drenched whitewashed hill towns (Puglia) and charming coastal villages (Amalfi Coast) in which to enjoy pretty much any season. Hot spots like Naples and Sorrento are popular for a reason, but don’t sleep on hidden gems like Matera, Ostuni, and Lecce.
Visit Sicily just about any time of the year, and you’ll see why it has its own distinct identity from mainland Italy. Experience rich culture in gritty Palermo, ancient ruins in historic Agrigento, the geological wonders of Mt. Etna, and an off-the-beaten-path getaway on the isle of Salina. Expect hot, dry summers and relatively mild winters in both Sicily and the neighboring island nation of Malta, with shoulder seasons being a nice balance of comfortable temps and fewer crowds.

It was all excellent. Our leader was extremely professional. All the visits were excellent. Honestly, I enjoyed interacting with the other tourists and our manager as much as anything else. Our manager / leader was Ben. We can only periodically afford a trip such as this. But in a year or so I’d be glad to hear if Ben is leading any other tours. This is all new to me. My wife planned all of this.

There were so many great experiences. The train rides. The lakes, the tours. It all was so memorable. Being able to see the Matterhorn was definitely a highlight. The only thing I would say is maybe stay more than one night in St. Moritz. You get there later in the afternoon and cannot really enjoy all it has to offer.

Our tour director, Chiara Brandi, was excellent. She went over and above to help us to make our trip enjoyable. The memorable moment was to visit the church in Venice and get there with the help of Chiara. It was a bucket list I had. The food and tiramisu was excellent. The sightseeing places, Verona, Murano Island, Asolo, The Dolomites(very beautiful), All the winery Tours, experiencing prosecco and grapps, and eating and touring a Venetian Villa. All this is memorable to me.

An absolutely fabulous trip. Our tour guide Gioulio is amazing. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly and funny. Accommodations, bus & driver, all the tours and options….it was the trip of a lifetime. Bus driver, Camilo was excellent and kept us safe. Loved the Colloseum, Vatican, winery/farm, Simplon Pass, Venice, Capri!!!! All the meals were delicious! Fedora and other additional tour guides were all fabulous!

My most memorable experience was Switzerland and the beautiful scenery. I also really liked London. The tour manager was excellent she called herself mama and was very comfortable around her and she was very knowledgable about every area we went to and had helpful tips on where to go for free time.

My favorite part was the Impact Moments with tours of the farms, watching them make cheese and meals in the farm house. But the grandeur and splendor of the Alps and the Dolomites was breathtaking. I’ll take the small towns any day over the big cities. Strudel Fest was the very best with the food and local music.
