Excellence all around! Collette is an absolutely professional organization that provided uncommon service. Our tour manager was knowledgeable and engaging. When we had to cut our tour short due to illness, the Collette Emergency Services Department swung into action to accomodate us during what could have been a difficult spot. Bravo Collette!

Pilar made our trip very memorable. She was so knowledgeable and personable. Would not hesitate to request or recommend her. My only negative is I think there are too many churches/cathedral excursions. Very much enjoyed the Vatican & Sistine Chapel. Just don’t need to visit a church at every tour. Some of the hotels were a little old and run down.

From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed. Our tour manager, Daniel Luna was very informative, knowledgeable and absolutely a people person. Always knew the right answers and a pretty good entertainer. He sang a few songs during our tour. We have lots of fun. My family and I could not asked for more efficient tour manager. We visited Rome, Perugia, Florence, Venezia and Milan. Lots to see not enough time.! We would have very much hope to have visited the colosseum. Many in our group were hoping but this wasn’t included in our tour. Beside from this, we had a great experience and this tour exceeded our expectations. We will definitely “highly recommend Collette and the staff that assisted with our tour.

This was my first trip abroad. I was very nervous about doing a tour and traveling around with a lot of people every day and how that would go. Well, we had a BLAST! ALL the people on our trip were wonderful, some were more outgoing, but everyone was so nice and easy to be around! We made lots of good friends. Also, we had many opportunities to be on our own if we wanted. We really enjoyed Tuscany and the special Tuscan Dinner. The opera singer (owner) was the cherry on top of a wonderful dinner!

The”tour” portion of the trip was very good. However the flights to and from Italy were awful. There wasn’t enough time between flights to go through security, customs, retrieve luggage and have it re-tagged for Rome and still have enough time to make the next flight. As a result we (13 people in our group) were without luggage for 6 days! The flight home wasn’t any better. Once again not enough time between flights to go through security, customs, baggage collection with time to make the next flight. We had to overnight in Charlotte,NC. The majority of our group were sent to a Clarion Hotel that was actually a roach motel. Not very happy with American Airlines/Collette for booking this route.

I think an important piece of the success of a tour lies in the tour manager and bus driver. They can make or break the trip. Sergio and Adriano were great. Sergio has such an attention to detail. He would make sure everyone was on the same page and knew what to do each step of the way. Even if dinner was on our own, he would meet us to walk us to the piazza to show us some good places to eat. He made the time in the bus fun and entertaining with his wonderful stories. His knowledge of architecture was nice as he was able to give us the background and history of the area. Adriano is a very skilled driver and always had our safety as his priority. The local guides were a nice addition too. They were able to provide that great local perspective into the area. I’m remembering things about the city the guide told us about Venice in the Off the Beaten Path tour as we watch the stories of the flooding now. I like how the tour manager checks everyone in and distributes the keys at the hotels. So much nicer than everyone waiting in line Having the radios is also a nice feature. I’ve been on a tour to Greece and it would have been nice to have as my mom walked slow and we never got to hear what the guide had to say. I loved everything on the tour, but for me getting to tour La Scala was a real high point. As an opera lover it was amazing. Another highlight was the cooking lesson. I’ve made pasta for years, but learned so much technique that day.

The tour guide was great and we got to see a lot of wonderful things but it was way more rigorous than any of us expected being that it was rated as "moderate physical activity" (I think my sisters monitor said we walked a little over 10 miles the first day and on average probably 6-8 miles every day) that is a lot for someone with some physical limitations. This is a very fast paced tour with not a lot of free time to enjoy the cities and what they have to offer. All in all it was a good trip but certainly not the trip of a lifetime we had hoped for.

For me, the walking was described as “moderate.” I felt the word used to describe the amount of walking was way off. Walking should be described in miles per day. One day, the group walked eight miles and I walked six. After that a few women and I started taking taxis that helped but meant certain sights had to be missed. At the Vatican, I only got to view the Chapel for only one minute because the local tour guide told a few of us to go a different way to the Chapel so we wouldn’t have to walk so far. Although I had a cane the guards would not let me pass so I had to wait until the group exited the Chapel. The local guide said a few words to the guards and took me by the hand to see the Chapel. This tour is for the average tourists. Seniors need to know more about the physicality of the tour. I am rating the tour manager average because she was unaware that many were having a hard time keeping up. She continued with her pace even though some of us were lagging 100 yards. She would stop and wait sometimes but would start up as soon as we caught up out of breath. She was very knowledgeable and would be a good tour guide for non-seniors.

Pelon Son only told us how hard her job was and how it was contracted and that didn’t guarantee her an income. It felt like she was begging for tips, yet uninterested in us or our trip experience. The free time spent in Cortona and Assisi allowed us to explore an ancient city and get a feeling of what it might have been like to live there. The tour had a good mix of guided tours and free time. The guides all helped to remind me of the long and significant history of the area. The scenery was incredible, especially Lake Como in the rain.

Overall, we enjoyed our tour, and we can thank our excellent tour manager for that. For meals that were included, she ensured that vegan options were provided. For optional excursions, this could not be done, so we missed out. In addition, we were disappointed that our tour of the Colosseum was only of the outside perimeter and did not include an inside viewing or tour. Lastly, our hotel in Venice faced a wall and an alley, providing no view of Venice.

Collette made it easy getting in and out of each location. Collette made sure we saw many of the major highlights (both the tour manager and driver did good). Walking cobblestone streets and alleys was a lot so fun! Local tour guides were friendly and informative. So much to see!!! Recommend adding an extra day onto the trip to spend more time in Rome. Really enjoyed the winery tour/pasta class/lunch and walking the streets/bridges of Venice! Took advantage of the Roman Serenade and Tuscan Feast. We had a fun time (the food was average). The location was perfect but the rooms were not cooled as it was very warm and I requested an extra pillow which was never fulfilled. The gondola which we paid extra for was not what we expected. Felt very safe esp. since we were warned of how bad pick pocketers are there. He watched out for us.! Our bus driver too was excellent so I would like to mention him as well! I would have liked to been able to visit Pisa but I guess that wasnt on our itinerary. For me i woudl have rahter stayed an extra day and went there instead of Milan. My least favorite on the trip was Milan. Took the fashion tour and that was a mistake I wished that i would had done the cathedral instead. It was a very misleading tour, more like a sales pitch if anything. I thought it was going to be an actual fashion tour like models on the runway and instead it was jsut walking outside the big name stores that i could have done in the USA. Also didnt like the fact of walking a mile to the tour meeting place to meet the guide just because the bus wasnt allowed to park closer. Who expects to walk that far and then on the tour besides. I'm really disaapointed with that. That Obviously we had somethat had disabilites and couldnt end up doing the tour. That was un acceptable. Other wise it was a great trip and I would do Collette again in the future. Hotel accomodations could have been better..I know Europe isnt liek the U.S but i have been other places in Europe and these were the worst-so small for 2 people. Even if you werent a ''big person'' there was no room to turn around let alone two suitcases and extra stuff besides. Bathrooms needed upgrade with safety rails in the shower area and showers that worked decent. No outlets in the Venice Carlton-we had a cpap machine and even with an extention cord there wasnt an outlet to plug in to.

I would liked to have seen more entertainment on this tour, like in Ireland. Emphasis was on too many churches. We had great opera singer, but more entertainment should have been included. Optional serenade tour was cancelled. Local guides rushed us through sights, too fast, like in Milan. Also, in Florence, the tours to overpriced leather place and gold jewelry were not good use of time. Instead, in Florence, another art museum could have been included in the tour.

The tour was well planned, the tour guide and local guides were excellent, our bus drivers professional and fun. Accomodations were wonderful. The pace and free time were as advertised. People with any disability, however, should refrain from taking this trip, but you alerted people to that in your brochure. It was a lot of walking, but a lot of fun, and laughing, too. I thought it was excellent and very informative.
