Our recent Collette trip to Italy was indeed A TRIP of a LIFETIME! Our host, Federico, couldn't have been better and our accomodations in Rome took our breath away! The Amalfi Coast was even better than I had expected and the food was "to die for!" Now all my wife and I have to do is decide where we want to go next! Thank you, Collette!

Our tour guide Maria Pilar (Cookie) was incredible, so organized and knowledgeable. The tour itself was great lots to see, it was a busy tour but there was down time. The food was incredible. We loved the Colosseum, Pompeii, Sorrento and eating lunch at the base of Mount Vesuvius was amazing. The food tour was fun and the food was delicious!our individual tour guides were very knowledgeable and fun. We had a great group of people to travel with. The only thing we would do differently is, we wouldn’t go in the summer again. Summer is very crowded and it was very warm 100+ during our tour week.

The trip was good, the weather was horrible with 82% humidity which isn't anyone's fault. I think too many events were scheduled on several of the days. We had no time to relax and go to the pool and even eat out on our own. Our guides were good and the bus driver excellent. Our flights were dreadful. A level 3 has a lot of walking which I had no idea how much. It wouldn't have been so bad except for the heat.

Collette is a wonderful tour company. My experience is my own fault. This is a 3 level tour. However if one is older, have some difficulty with back, knee, hip, and uneven surfaces along with staircases this is not your tour. After researching this trip no where did I see that I would climb 10-20 staircases a day, walk at least a quarter mile multiple times a day from and to the bus. In my past tours we were dropped at the door. Not this tour. I also did not know there is not cold drinks with ice, or air conditioning anywhere(our hotel room and bus had AC). The temp was 85 and above. I have never been so hot and in pain in my life. We paid for upgraded rooms and I was embarrassed at our view. Money wasted. However the bright spot was Frederico. He attempted to accommodate me by checking on me frequently and getting me a cab when I couldn’t walk anymore. He was amazing. I deeply appreciate being refunded our capri tour. I could no longer walk and needed a day of rest. We tried multiple people to give our tickets to, however we hit a wall with that. We highly recommend Collette tours for travelers just take the time to delve in more if you have pain/mobility problems.

I wish there had been an overall tour of Rome at the beginning of the tour. It might have helped me put the city in perspective. Also, the weather in Amalfi Coast was wretched. I don’t think we should’ve taken the boat ride from one place to where the bus was. I felt unsafe getting on and off the boat. A little more time allowed for souvenir shopping would have been nice. Luigi did a good job.

Everything on this tour was memorable! Rome is Rome, the Eternal City. Our accommodations there at the beginning of the tour were great and within easy walking distance of many sites and wonderful restaurants. The Amalfi Coast is as beautiful as many advertise. The ruins at Pompeii and Paestum were awe inspiring and the countryside at and around the buffalo mozzarella farm near Paestrum; and at the winery on the slopes of Vesuvius was beautiful. Our accommodations at Riato were both modern and excellent with extraordinary views overlooking Vietri sul Mare, Salerno and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The food and beverage service at the Hotel Riato was excellent. However, we did have trouble getting our room cool enough to suit us. The food for all the tour group dining experiences at all the other locations was great. Our last night accommodations and food in Rome were excellent.

We had good experiences, but the crowded venues made it less enjoyable. We did not have a good experience with lunch at the Vatican. The only option that we were brought to was so crowded, we had to sit outside on the street curb to eat our food. Our friends didn't even get anything to eat. We thought we would see a demonstration of mosaic making, but it was really just a showroom where we felt like we were being herded to for making purchases. We would have liked more time in museums. We hurried through, seeing the highlights, but didn't have time to linger and look at what interested us. If you are going to Rome, we thought the Vatican should be part of the included tour, not an add on. That's all we did in Rome with the tour and we had to pay for it. We actually had to see Rome on our own. We came early and stayed an extra day to see Rome. Maybe it shouldn't be billed as Rome and the Amalfi Coast.

I have done several tours with Coletter and this is the first time I need to complaint about the Tour Guide who reflect very poorly and unfairly on Colette. Most likely he is new and no properly trained but he lacked the right type of personality to deal with large groups.

As usual Rome was fantastic with us visiting the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon and the Colosseum. That was capped off by dinner out with new friends on the tour. Pompeii and the Temples in Paestum were exceptional as well as the museum in Naples. Needless to say the views up and down the Amalfi coast were thrilling, including the our trip to the Isle of Capri. All in all I would highly recommend this tour.

Fedora in Rome was a great local guide, but the tours should not have been crammed all into one day. That put us both at the Coliseum and at the Vatican and St. Peters at the height of the day with seas of other tours - literally you could do nothing but be moved like cattle by the crowd. Not enjoyable at all and allowed for no time to really enjoy the sites - was like a walking drive-by.

Aside from the many beautiful sites, our Tour Manager *personal details removed by Feefo* has a beautiful voice singing to us many times over the PA love songs in Italian and English! Pompeii was very impressive too! On a personal note, I was able (on the one free night we had in Amalfi) to link up with cousins of mine in Poggiomarino and actually get to see my grandfather's original home and meet them for the first time too! I liked the visit to the limoncello factory. I liked the visit to the Benedictine monastery of montecassino. I enjoyed always sitting in the small local restaurants, local food and the walk in the street and buying things from side walk which were cheap and good to give for friends and family.Most of all I liked the limoncello and wine from ITALY, the Alitalia charged me 93 Dollars for transporting it,I just found that in my American express Bill . I will enquire about it.

My husband and I enjoyed eating at all of the family owned restaurants. These small restaurants give you the true flavor of Italian cooking. We also enjoyed visiting the historical sites in Rome, Pompeii, and Paestum. All the small towns along the coast are so beautiful. It is just breath-taking. The trip will always be a wonderful memory.

It was a great tour. The excursions were a great balance of history and interesting places. The only negative was the location of the hotel in Amalfi Coast. It was at the top of the mountain in Ravello. The view was fabulous, but it took 45 minutes to get up and down the mountain each way, which was very time consuming. We weren't at the hotel during daylight much to enjoy the view.

Our bus driver, "Beppe" was wonderful! He negotiated all of the roads in southern Italy nicely and allowed us to "stay on the bus" at stops if we needed to! Loved the places we toured. Paestum was a wonderful. Pompeii incredible! Our hotel in Cetara, the Cetus was awesome! Just wish we could have spent a little more time on our balcony overlooking the Mediterranean Sea! Loved the touring group we were traveling with; made new friends!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Rome and the Amalfi Coast. Being part of a tour has been wonderful as we meet new people while exploring a new country. The choice of hotels has always been to our satisfaction. Who wouldn't want to walk out on to a veranda/patio overlooking the beautiful Mediterranean every day?! The pace of the tour was good. This being our third tour with Collette, we really enjoy the free time to explore the small towns and eat in the smaller pubs and cafés. Perfect opportunity to take plenty of photos, too! Our tour manager, Tracy Allyne, was OUTSTANDING! She is a wealth of knowledge and shared that knowledge with so much enthusiasm! She was so pleasant and genuine. From the moment we met her to the minute she put us in the car for our trip to the airport she was wonderful. My husband was not feeling well one evening and we did not attend the planned dinner. She immediately came to see us. She had tea and bread sent to our room. We knew we had a gem!! She knew every one of the travelers by name. She even managed to teach us a little Italian! She and our driver, Antonio, worked extremely well as a team. We would highly recommend this tour and would hope that the group would be lucky enough to get The Dynamic Duo of Tracy and Antonio!!

The tour was flexible enough to meet everyone's needs. We took advantage of every optional excursion possible but never felt overwhelmed. We still had many opportunities to explore on our own or take some quiet time away from the group. Our favorite experiences were touring Pompei with knowledgable guides and also wandering the local area of Ravello and Scala. We found a charming local restaurant, Borgo San Pietro that I highly recommend.

The Hotel Raito was lovely. The add-on boat tour of the grottos in Capri is highly recommended. Our visit Case Variso was the highlight with a charming hostess at a lovely farm serving an amazing spread of delicious food. We also very much enjoyed or visit to a farm in Sorrento for a mozzarella and cooking demonstration. Palermo was a delightful surprise and we really enjoyed our walking tour and spending time at the market.

The tour was well organized and the main tour guide was very knowledgeable and attentive to the needs of everyone in the group. It would have been helpful if the hotel room were available upon arrival. Also, it was very difficult to leave close to 3am in the morning on the last day. I would have preferred to have left at 6am, and to have been driven back to Rome. All the guides were very informative and the other people on the tour were lots of fun to talk to. Max was a great guide and went out of his way to ensure everyone had a great time. Met some wonderful people on the tour as well. One of the highlights was that he added an extra on his own and a group of us went to Salerno. His wife had a friend there and she helped show us the town. Then we went to a restaurant she recommended and it was one of the best meals I had. Another place that Max had heard about was this restaurant near our hotel that a bunch of us went to and again the food was amazing. In terms of sites I loved the picturesque beauty of the Amalfi Coast and how blue the sea was. Pompeii, the forum in Rome and the mouth of truth were my favorite sites.

Our Rome to Amalfi Coast tour with Collette was wonderful. Our tour guide, Mauro, was outstanding. The tour was extremely well organized and my husband and I (57 and 56) did not have to worry about a thing. We like to be active and this tour kept us busy and hit all the highlights and added a few truly local things that made it even better. I will be using Collette again and would highly recommend this trip.

All aspects of the tour were outstanding. The itinerary was fairly rapid given we (my wife and I) opted for all the offered excursions. Having said that we did not feel it was too fast. The fact that there was only one hotel change allowed us to have more time overall to see the wonderful history and sites that are all over Italy. Our tour manager was wonderful. His knowledge and experience showed clearly in how smoothly the entire tour went. Our bus driver was amazing moving a large vehicle through the narrow winding streets of Rome, the Amalfi Coast and in between. The local guides were also excellent for the brief times we spent with them. All in all the tour was wonderful and worth every penny we paid.

Italy is overcrowded these days and that is the unavoidable reality affecting my review. The itinerary is too ambitious and the pasta factory and cheese making could be eliminated to give more free time to explore the villages. The location of the hotel in Rome was too remote and breakfast was poor. The hotel in Vietre Sul Mare was lovely and set in a smaller village on Amalfi Coast. Sorrento and Pompeii were most enjoyable. The local guides were excellent. Paola, our Collette tour leader was the best I’ve had on any group tour I’ve previously taken. Her knowledge, passion, people skills, and humor were unparalleled. And, Luigi, our bus driver, deftly maneuvered us safely throughout. We came home with lasting memories.

It was a great trip! everything was made easy and enjoyable by the choices made of hotels and the things running so smooth by Silvio Tria. Excellent choice by Collette as a tour representative and guide. Along with the driver of tour bus, Carmine who is a great driver and also extremely pleasant, helpful as a person. Definitely will do it again with Collette. We did handle our own direct flight to Rome, and getting to Florence by rail where we began a side tour. We were able to stay an additional 6 days in Italy visiting Roccamonfina and my cousins.

Andrea and driver Pascali Amazing!!!!! Choices of side visits were interesting and felt like we had more of a personal experience. Location of resorts were memorable. I do wish location in Rome was more central location for lodging.. I will have smiles of this tour for eternity. The tour was a 3 on level experience. I did experience some struggle with activities. When I got home I had a Dr. followup and found I had pneumonia. I was elated that I did get to experience Amalfi Coast.

It was an all around great experience. I enjoyed all of the side tours. Tour manager was great. The bus driver was great also. I was very disappointed in the Raito Hotel. My Seaview room was not a Sea view Room in spite of what I was told. The hotel is way to spread out. We were isolated from all the amenities. I hated the outdoor elevator. We had to go down 4 floors with cement on all 4 sides. It was like going into a tomb.I fully expected to receive monetary compensation . Instead I got a credit for a future Colette tour this is my sea view room.Really?

Great tour! From Rome to Monte Cassino to the Amalfi Coast and Isle of Capri and on to Pompei a first class itinerary. We felt that it was just the right mix of scheduled vs free time. The tour manager, Christina, was first class in every respect and was key to making it such a wonderful experience. All the tour guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. And I don’t want to forget mention our very professional bus driver. It’s hard to believe he could negotiate some of the driving challenges he faced, but he did and always in a courteous and friendly manner. But if I had to pick one lasting memory it would be the boat tour of the Isle of Capri. Magnificent!!

Christina was an excellent tour manager. The only complaint I have is how she gives instructions. She details too much at one time. It would be better to give simpler one time directions for her older participants. It would save asking a lot of questions. Otherwise she was great!

Wonderful trip. Great service and knowledge by our Collette tour manager and tour guides. The transportation was really good even in narrow spaces and on winding roads. We used our time well. We had things to do but didn't rush. It might have been good to get there a day earlier to rest and acclimate before starting the tour. It was our first trip in Europe and would recommend and travel with Collette again.

Excellent way to see Italy without worry of maneuvering on your own. Saw many sites wish it was more time at sites and less free time a little rushed. Was told we could not use toilet on bus and had to buy something at a restaurant to use one. The ratio hotel in Amalfi air conditioner in the rooms was terrible but the AC in the lobby was excellent. My most memorable was the Vatican. This was a once in a lifetime vacation. Issue with plane seats being free later told they were not. Supervisor corrected the issue. First time taking a tour. I would definitely recommend it

Our tour guide Maria Pilar (Cookie) was incredible, so organized and knowledgeable. The tour itself was great lots to see, it was a busy tour but there was down time. The food was incredible. We loved the Colosseum, Pompeii, Sorrento and eating lunch at the base of Mount Vesuvius was amazing. The food tour was fun and the food was delicious!our individual tour guides were very knowledgeable and fun. We had a great group of people to travel with. The only thing we would do differently is, we wouldn’t go in the summer again. Summer is very crowded and it was very warm 100+ during our tour week.

The trip was good, the weather was horrible with 82% humidity which isn't anyone's fault. I think too many events were scheduled on several of the days. We had no time to relax and go to the pool and even eat out on our own. Our guides were good and the bus driver excellent. Our flights were dreadful. A level 3 has a lot of walking which I had no idea how much. It wouldn't have been so bad except for the heat.

Collette is a wonderful tour company. My experience is my own fault. This is a 3 level tour. However if one is older, have some difficulty with back, knee, hip, and uneven surfaces along with staircases this is not your tour. After researching this trip no where did I see that I would climb 10-20 staircases a day, walk at least a quarter mile multiple times a day from and to the bus. In my past tours we were dropped at the door. Not this tour. I also did not know there is not cold drinks with ice, or air conditioning anywhere(our hotel room and bus had AC). The temp was 85 and above. I have never been so hot and in pain in my life. We paid for upgraded rooms and I was embarrassed at our view. Money wasted. However the bright spot was Frederico. He attempted to accommodate me by checking on me frequently and getting me a cab when I couldn’t walk anymore. He was amazing. I deeply appreciate being refunded our capri tour. I could no longer walk and needed a day of rest. We tried multiple people to give our tickets to, however we hit a wall with that. We highly recommend Collette tours for travelers just take the time to delve in more if you have pain/mobility problems.

I wish there had been an overall tour of Rome at the beginning of the tour. It might have helped me put the city in perspective. Also, the weather in Amalfi Coast was wretched. I don’t think we should’ve taken the boat ride from one place to where the bus was. I felt unsafe getting on and off the boat. A little more time allowed for souvenir shopping would have been nice. Luigi did a good job.

Everything on this tour was memorable! Rome is Rome, the Eternal City. Our accommodations there at the beginning of the tour were great and within easy walking distance of many sites and wonderful restaurants. The Amalfi Coast is as beautiful as many advertise. The ruins at Pompeii and Paestum were awe inspiring and the countryside at and around the buffalo mozzarella farm near Paestrum; and at the winery on the slopes of Vesuvius was beautiful. Our accommodations at Riato were both modern and excellent with extraordinary views overlooking Vietri sul Mare, Salerno and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The food and beverage service at the Hotel Riato was excellent. However, we did have trouble getting our room cool enough to suit us. The food for all the tour group dining experiences at all the other locations was great. Our last night accommodations and food in Rome were excellent.

We had good experiences, but the crowded venues made it less enjoyable. We did not have a good experience with lunch at the Vatican. The only option that we were brought to was so crowded, we had to sit outside on the street curb to eat our food. Our friends didn't even get anything to eat. We thought we would see a demonstration of mosaic making, but it was really just a showroom where we felt like we were being herded to for making purchases. We would have liked more time in museums. We hurried through, seeing the highlights, but didn't have time to linger and look at what interested us. If you are going to Rome, we thought the Vatican should be part of the included tour, not an add on. That's all we did in Rome with the tour and we had to pay for it. We actually had to see Rome on our own. We came early and stayed an extra day to see Rome. Maybe it shouldn't be billed as Rome and the Amalfi Coast.

I have done several tours with Coletter and this is the first time I need to complaint about the Tour Guide who reflect very poorly and unfairly on Colette. As usual Rome was fantastic with us visiting the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon and the Colosseum. That was capped off by dinner out with new friends on the tour. Pompeii and the Temples in Paestum were exceptional as well as the museum in Naples. Needless to say the views up and down the Amalfi coast were thrilling, including the our trip to the Isle of Capri. All in all I would highly recommend this tour.

Fedora in Rome was a great local guide, but the tours should not have been crammed all into one day. That put us both at the Coliseum and at the Vatican and St. Peters at the height of the day with seas of other tours - literally you could do nothing but be moved like cattle by the crowd. Not enjoyable at all and allowed for no time to really enjoy the sites - was like a walking drive-by.

I liked the visit to the limoncello factory. I liked the visit to the Benedictine monastery of montecassino. I enjoyed always sitting in the small local restaurants, local food and the walk in the street and buying things from side walk which were cheap and good to give for friends and family.Most of all I liked the limoncello and wine from ITALY, the Alitalia charged me 93 Dollars for transporting it,I just found that in my American express Bill . I will enquire about it.

It was a great tour. The excursions were a great balance of history and interesting places. The only negative was the location of the hotel in Amalfi Coast. It was at the top of the mountain in Ravello. The view was fabulous, but it took 45 minutes to get up and down the mountain each way, which was very time consuming. We weren't at the hotel during daylight much to enjoy the view.

Our bus driver, "Beppe" was wonderful! He negotiated all of the roads in southern Italy nicely and allowed us to "stay on the bus" at stops if we needed to! Loved the places we toured. The accommodations in Amalfia were exceptional, Rome was ok but last night in Rome was awful. The airport and Delta employees were awful on return trip.
