Tour guide was sick when we got on the bus and he gave his cold to about half of the bus. He did not engage with us while driving, several times we never even heard anything from him for over an hour. One tour we had that he gave a lecture on, it was raining and he talked with us for almost 45 minutes in the rain telling us about this castle. We had been traveling on the bus for over an hour and he could've done it then on the bus and we could have stayed warm and dry. The rooms felt to us like we got the left overs. Terrible views. We did joy several of the tours, especially the culinary school. Irish and Scottish night out we're fine also. Several local guide were excellent.

Our director, Denise, was excellent so this should not be interpreted as a possible withheld criticism. If you had a poorly performing director no traveler would want to give the director a negative opinion knowing that the director would be able to view it and possible not pass it on.

We were able to attend a show performed by an Irish band and dancer. That was very enjoyable and the musicians and dancer were impressive. The Jaunting Car ride in Kilarney National Park was very nice and we were able to see wildlife including deer. Of course, the Edinburgh Castle was very impressive, as was the Holyrood House. They took the time to get to know me and where I was from. We've become online friends. Stonehenge was great, a bit more condensed than TV would lead you to believe. It was still an amazing sight. Climbed 108 steps up and down the tower at Cardiff Castle. Memorable. Another most memorable Royal Military Tatoo. Excellent. Edinburgh. Our first city adventure.Felt connected. My nephew and family recently moved from Edinburgh, Indiana. Oh my I should look at pictures and itinerary to be most accurate. The horse and carriage ride through the park in Killarney. Beautiful and refreshing. A driver who loved his horse and job. The hotel was lovely also. Felt quite ritzy. Fun. The farm visit!!! Was such an amazing surprise. It was great. I learned a lot. My Mom’s parents settled in Iowa from Norway and Sweden. They became farmers. The tomato soup was so yummy. The Tower of London. I walked up and all around. I did it. No pain. The Tower wall in York. Walked partway around it. The church there. So…beautiful. Windsor Castle. The high tea in another beautiful location. Wales. Speaking Welsh. I did not realize that was their language. The guide was very good. Dublin. The BIG city after the smaller towns. Took me a bit to adjust to enjoy the beauty of the town center. St Patrick’s Cathedral. Amazing. Having yummy leek potato soup at a sidewalk cafe. Irish bread. So good. Then the last evening. Tasty dinner. Entertainment was so fun and enjoyable. The Irish singing. The harp! I never knew. And the dancer. I was so happy to see and enjoy this event. I know I have forgotten something that was my favorite and memorable. Bath was interesting.

This was an exhausting tour since we averaged between 13,000 and 15,000 steps a day. The pace was reasonable; there was just a lot of walking. The coach was comfortable and the fact that the seating was assigned and rotated every day gave everyone an opportunity to have the "best" seat. That was a positive thing to do and also allowed for getting acquainted with other folks. The dinners that were included were nice and everything was well organized as far as getting to the restaurant and timeliness and many included entertainment. The last night's dinner followed by entertainment was disappointing as the theatre was pretty much occupied by people not part of our tour by the time we were taken there. So, the remaining seats were not very good. I could barely see the performers - quite disappointing. I would have expected Collette to have secured better seats for our group as they had done in Cardiff, where we had reserved seats. The hotels were fine. I especially liked the Granville Hotel in Waterford, for it's charm. The most luxurious was the Aloft Dublin City. The most disappointing was Mercure Haymarket where the rooms were very small with no hooks or shelves so everything (eg., clothes) had to go on the floor. And there was only one bed which was not conducive to 2 friends sharing a room (when not a couple). Our tour guide went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we were all taken care of. In retrospect, if I were to choose another tour of this area, I would choose one that stayed longer in some places - one day in Wales was not enough. And, for two days in a row (Killarney area: August 1st and 2nd), there was too much time in the coach. I would definitely do another Collette tour and have recommended this company to others since returning.

Pickup at the airport was a disaster. Waited an anxious hour & a half before I could find the driver. Stonehenge was disappointing in that you can only see it from a distance behind a fence. Cardiff, Wales walking tour was boring. Did not see Changing of the Guard as advertised, but only part of the troop march to get there. Tour leader walked too fast & refused to slow down. Best part was the Military Tattoo in Edinburg, but this is only presented for 2 weeks in August.

So many great moments. The tea house in Ireland with the medieval city ruins (Jerpoint); both the Scottish and Irish Nights Out; thrilled to stop in that town in Wales with the longest name - that was a nice plus that we weren't expecting; jaunting car ride through the park and the Ring of Kerry - outstanding. Really happy with the accommodations as well, esp the Brehon and the Walton Manor house - I wish we had been at the manor house for two nights!

Over 1800 miles on the bus is too much. We stayed in 9 hotels, and only two hotels for two nights. All other hotels were for only one night. I suggest weals need not be in the trip and more time spent in the other countries. The London stay was much too short.

Loved Jerpoint farms. Rock of Cashal...too much time there....but the day was chilly and windy so it was not enjoyable.

Group is way too big - 42 people, taking the time to load & unload etc lessens the time spent on the activity & increases the amount of time the director has to spend explaining things. Felt that we didn't have enough time at Stone Henge or some other activities due to this. Felt rushed through some of the sites we visited due to time needed to be at the Ferry, or another site. Having said that, the bus driver & tour manager did a great job organizing, including everyone, and providing information about what we were seeing.

Hotels vary according to availability in a region, and we received excellent accommodations based on what was in the area. Some hotels had better elevators, room size, and appointments, but nothing was substandard or unpleasant.

Impossible to rate hotels and restaurants when we were given the forms at the end of our tour. Who can remember the details. you should give thee rating sheet at the beginning so tour members can accurately rate as they go along. Also we should not turn in the rating sheet to the tour director but it should be returned to you in a prepaid envelope. Our director, Denise, was excellent so this should not be interpreted as a possible withheld criticism. If you had a poorly performing director no traveler would want to give the director a negative opinion knowing that the director would be able to view it and possible not pass it on.

We hit all the highlights mentioned in the tour guide. We were really impressed with the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. The Tour Manager was able to place us in a perfect spot for the changing of the guard. The optional tour of Windsor Palace was well worth the extra money. It was very impressive. Overall, it was a very enjoyable and learning experience. The United Kingdom countryside is beautiful.
