Hearst Castle is a historic mansion built by publishing tycoon William Randolph Hearst on his vast San Simeon estate. With architect Julia Morgan, he conceived an enormous structure inspired by the Church of Santa Maria la Mayor in Ronda, Spain. Your tour begins with a movie, Hearst Castle: Building the Dream, projected on a five-story screen and telling the story of the castle’s construction. Next is a guided tour of the Grand Rooms, the opulently decorated rooms, gardens, and pools where Hearst entertained his many guests, especially during the Roaring Twenties. Lunch is also included.

Loved every area and hotel we visited. The biggest surprise for me, however, was how enjoyable and beautiful the Getty Museum was on our final full day! Amazing place that rivaled the Hearst Castle with the beautiful grounds plus an incredible collection of very famous artists - especially the Impressionists!

Loved the Sequoias. Not a big fan of the Hollywood part of tour. Thought more time was need in the market area for lunch. The Gety museum was a little long time. Would have liked another day at Pismo Beach. The breakfast at the Omni restaurant felt rushed and not enough seating. Would have liked to be able to tour the Griffith Observatory instead of looking at streets in Hollywood where movies where made back in a day. Winery visit was nice.
