Wander through walled cities, explore island ports, and visit Croatia’s national parks. With over 100 years of tour expertise, Collette’s Croatia tours feature thoughtful pacing, cultural connections, and worry-free travel protection. See iconic sites and enjoy unexpected experiences like tasting prosciutto and cheese at a local farm.
Croatia has over 1,770 kilometres of shoreline to explore. You’ll find islands, walled cities, rugged shores, sandy beaches, and seaside towns.
Croatian is the official language, but most Croatians are multilingual, and many people you meet speak at least some English. If you visit Croatia on a Collette tour, local guides will help with language and etiquette.
Croatian currency is Kuna, though it’s common for restaurants and shops to accept euros. Many places accept credit cards, but you will want some cash for smaller shops.
Tour Design Manager
When I travel, I’m inspired by the stories that shape a destination — its history, people, traditions, and everyday rhythms. That’s why I create tours that include authentic local experiences. I want my tours to feel engaging, purposeful, and memorable, so you go home with a deeper understanding of the places you’ve been.

It was a fabulous tour - in addition to all of the lovely sights, we also got to swim in the Adriatic. Mirna, our tour manager was absolutely wonderful and completely made the tour another level beyond our expectations.

Our tour director and driver were wonderful. I enjoyed the beautiful Lake Bled and the awesome Plitvice Lakes Natl. Park....had heard about them, and they were spectacular to experience in person.

Beautiful scenery. Favorite experience was walking on the beaches of the Adriatic Sea. Delicious food at each venue. Great Hotels. Very exciting experience was the mountain that became a hanger during the Yougo was.

The overall tour was wonderful! The shore excursions were good, although some of the country history was redundant from tour to tour. The Vis military tour was a little too long. I really enjoyed Dubrovnik and could have stayed there another day.

The seven days and nights on the ship "DESIRE" was absolutely terrific!! It was the best trip that we have ever taken. The staff and our guide, Darko, were outstanding. Food was terrific as well. Every excursion was memorable, most especially the two "farms" that we visited and experienced. Again, the people, the scenery, the food, the ambiance were truly wonderful. The only negative were the "local guides" who led us through the various cities on each island. Because of the crowds and the narrow streets/ passages, our group was typically strung out quite a distance from our local guide. Our "Whispers" did not pick up their verbal descriptions and histories for at least half of each excursion. We have been on many other European excursions (GLOBUS) that were far better. They included tour guides that waited at a set location for the ENTIRE group to gather before describing where we were and what we were seeing. This allows members of the group to know that they are not going to miss out on anything. When Darko led our group, he was EXCELLENT. So informative in sharing every aspect of life in Croatia and most especially it's history. We would highly recommend this trip to anyone!! Karla Kenefake-Hymans Haymarket, Va.

This was our first Collette trip and we loved it! All the places we visited were very interesting due, in big part; to guides in each destination. Our tour guide, Tomo, was excellent. He did everything in his ability to make us feel welcome and comfortable. His knowledge of the area and his stories added to our love of Croatia and its people and history. We will actually felt like a ‘travel family’ on this trip! Also, our bus driver. Also, our bus driver was AMAZING! His driving skills and personality helped us feel completely confident that we soul arrive at our destinations safely. Thank you to everyone!

Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and engaging. She shared fascinating information throughout the tour and did an excellent job bringing the history and sights to life. She was friendly, attentive, and made everyone feel comfortable. Her enthusiasm and knowledge truly made the experience special. She was one of the best Collette tour guides that I have had.

Our tour was amazing! Everything was perfect and our tour manager was outstanding! She was accommodating, professional, and everything you would want in a tour manager. I have been on 5 other Collette tours and I would rate Tonja as the best manager I've experienced. The tour itself was amazing, especially the experience on the M.S. Desire. I highly recommend this tour and the tour manager, Tonja!

Yes. Croatia can be a strong choice for a first trip to Europe. It has a nice mix of beautiful scenery, history, culture, great food, and hospitable people.
Pack for warm, sunny days along the coast and include comfortable shoes for walking around historic towns. The summer can be hot, so light layers, sun protection, and a reusable water bottle are a must. If you travel with Collette, we provide a packing list before your tour, so you know exactly what to bring.
