This was so organized! I have always wanted to travel to Seattle and see the sights. Space Needle, and the fish market. I loved the rose garden! I have so many pictures of the roses. It was wonderful and when we stopped by it was after a rain, so the roses were perfect for taking pictures. The mountains were an added touch. Being at Mt St Helen's - what not to say.
The Oregon beach area was beautiful. Just beautiful.
The Redwoods, was the original reason for the visit. It was interesting!!!
New friends from the Boston area from the bus- we had a good time in San Francisco seeing the sights, laughing and shopping. Riding the trolley. It's about meeting new friends from all over the country and exchanging phone numbers by the end of the trip.
We go to see the sights but in the end it's about meeting people along the way. 😊

Since both Steven and I came down with Covid halfway through the tour we have a nightmare memory of the tour. BTW we believe we were exposed to COVID-19 not on the plane but at Seattle's very crowded Public Market.
We were stranded in the middle of nowhere (Coos Bay, OR) with no one we knew or anyone to help us except for a 1-800 number. Yes, Collette was excellent with arranging details for us to get home to Rochester. Collette did its best to help us remotely via phone, for which we are grateful. Sadly, the tour was not a good experience for us.
But, the first 4 days of the tour were wonderful and we truly loved it. We have fond memories of the good parts of the trip -Seattle's Space Needle, Chihuly Glass, Mt Hood, Mt. Adams, Oregon Coast, etc. Unfortunately, we missed seeing the Redwood Forest. Seeing the redwood trees was one of the main reasons we booked the tour.
Our Tour Manager, Amber Peterson was wonderful. She was so sweet giving me a hug of encouragement as the emergency crew took my husband and me, to the hospital. Watching our tour mates and tour bus leave us behind was so sad. It was terrifying for me since my husband was very sick and I had no one with me to help. We were alone. We understand the tour must go on.
If we had not gotten sick the tour would have been a wonderful trip!
Thank you

( my wife uses a wheelchair for airport treks)The Thompson Hotel in Seattle was below average nice rooftop bar that interferes with the 2? elevators so it takes forever to get to your assigned floor, oh & the view from our room was spectacular an alley, really? In Eureka Ca a Best Western far from the town so it was difficult to walk to, only meals at the hotel? or at a bar directly across from the hotel. A DRIVE BY TOUR AT BEST. Ever been somewhere and feel like you didn’t see the city or see the best it has to offer? This is THAT kind of tour. Most of what you do see, you are SO FAR AWAY from it that all you get is a photo opportunity. We were so far away from Mt Hood and Mt St Helen’s that it doesn’t even count as a drive by. There was only one day that we thoroughly enjoyed being on the tour. At several stops (like the lavender farm), we spent too much time doing nothing. I DID NOT FEEL SAFE in Eureka: at that Best Western, our room was on the ground floor). Also, we had a random woman walk into the restaurant with threats to our safety upon her return. The remaining hotels were above average to excellent (Hyatt Regency in San Francisco). The food stops were good and well timed. This was my third tour with Collette and by far the worst one. I would NOT recommend it. In fact, I think Collette should stop offering it to maintain their otherwise good reputation.

There was no microwave or any other way to warm it.
On our "tour of Seattle we saw the Space Needle while the tour director talked about the guitar selection some man had I can see shopping areas like Pike Place any time I want to go downtown..
On Day 2 when we got to Mount St. Helen's visitor center, it was closed when we arrived so we drove on. At the Rose Test Garden we left before the shop opened. Day 4 we cannot go into the lighthouse, but we got to go shopping at Fred Meyer. The Redwoods were very nice. Day 7 for breakfast I put in my order at the same time as the two ladies with whom I was sitting. They had finished eating when mine arrived "stone cold." I would not recommend Mel's Diner to anyone.

Who sets up events so you arrive before they open or after it closes? What tour guide says "look to your left and maybe you will see Mt. Saint Helens (Mt. Hood, Mt. Ranier). I loved the places we visited, ate and the accommodations. The Redwoods forests were outstanding, the ocean views so beautiful, and the fun things planned helped us to enjoy and experience the Pacific Northwest.
I appreciated the hard work of the tour manager to help things to flow with ease. The seating arrangements on the bus were tough, and sitting in the back third of the bus for 5 out of the seven days was not fair and placed a damper on the trip. Many people complained but no changes were made. This is my only concern.

Everything was perfect except for the seating arrangements on the bus. We were in the back third of the bus for 5 out of the seven days, asked for a change, and were told that no changes would be made.
This mattered alot as we were off and on the bus 5-10 times a day on this tour. Off always last, stood at the end of the line for the bathrooms, less visibility. Their had to be a more fair way to arrange this.

Unfortunately this trip left a lot to be desired. First of all, it was not an 8 day tour. We were finished with Collette by noon time on Saturday (the 7th day). The Tour Manager was less than adequate. At times the bus driver was better informed then him. The lady he had giving us the tour of Seattle was not good at all. During the walking part she could only be heard by the few people right next to her. At times we rode for extended times in silence while passing some interesting agricultural areas that would have been nice to learn about. We even passed wineries and distilleries that would have been nice to visit. The time spent at the Casino/Hotel was awful. You had to walk through the smoke filled casino to get to the restaurants and to even get to the smoke free part of the casino. The corridors walking to your room had that tobacco smell. To top it off, the air conditioner on the bus stopped working and we had to ride approximately an hour with temperatures outside pushing 100. With a lot of senior citizens on that bus it got pretty unsettling. The manager seemed more concerned with staying on schedule than the well being of the passengers. The driver was finally able to resolve the problem when we stopped for something cold to drink. We have traveled with Collette before and had an absolutely fantastic experience so needless to say this was very disappointing. We even heard a couple of people say that they would not travel with Collette again. We did see some wonderful sites but the whole trip could have been so much better. All the hotels with the exception of the Casino were excellent. The woman that did the City Tour of San Francisco was excellent. We would definitely consider traveling with Collette again but would make sure it was not this same Tour Manager.

I would have liked to have a ride up the Space Needle included in the tour (we only saw it from the "outside") and although the hotels were certainly more than acceptable, the one in Seattle and the one in San Francisco were not very accommodating.

We had to wait for our transportation to the hotel. We had missed dinner. The tour director had something from the dinner for us at the hotel. It was supposed to be clam chowder, salmon with potato fingerlings, asparagus, creme brule, and a glass of white wine. It was very cold clam chowder, cold salmon with, I think, quinoa.
The best vacation I have taken was with Collette to Australia and Fiji. However, I will also say this was the worst vacation I have taken, also with Collette.

If this was my first tour with Collette, I would never travel with them again. However, I have been on great tours with them previously and will try to put this one out of my mind. Who goes to Seatle and doesn't see the space needle? Who makes the plane reservations so that you arrive too late for the Welcome Dinner and on the return flight arrive a day late? Who sets up events so you arrive before they open or after it closes? What tour guide says "look to your left and maybe you will see Mt. Saint Helens (Mt. Hood, Mt. Ranier). Oh, let us not forget that if you are lucky, you might see the dome of Olympia. The list of complaints goes on and on.
