From the Acropolis and Metéora to island communities where people still follow traditions, Collette’s guided tours go deeper so you can connect with Greece in a more meaningful way. Our Greece tours are shaped by long-standing local relationships, led by experienced Tour Managers, and supported by expertise that lets you travel with confidence.
In many parts of Greece, shops and businesses close for a few hours in the early afternoon. Collette tours are thoughtfully planned around this local tradition, so it becomes part of your day instead of an inconvenience.
Many of Greece’s most iconic sites have uneven paths, stone steps, and hills. Collette tours are designed with clear activity levels, so you know what to expect and can choose a tour that lets you explore comfortably.
Greece enjoys a Mediterranean climate. Coastal areas and islands often have cooling sea breezes, whilst inland regions are usually warmer. Collette schedules departures across multiple seasons, so you can choose the best dates for your travel style.

It was fantastic and highly recommend it to my friends. George was an exceptional guide!
Tour Rating:
Excellent tour, my favorite was the sunset cruise
Tour Rating:
The tour was excellent and much of that had to do with our Tour Manager. George had so much information to share and he had such a positive attitude and excitement, one couldn't help but be excited and interested in his information. Seeing Santorini from both the land and on the water was wonderful. The proximity of our hotel to the area where there were shops, museums, and the port made it easy to just take a walk and arrive at the vibrant area of Santorini.

Enjoyed our small group of 13. Our tour guide, Nico, was a gem! He was always looking out for us, made sure that our days were full of sights and experiences. He was extremely knowledgeable on each area we visited and made our trip one to remember.
Tour Rating:
Really enjoy traveling with Collette. The whole itinerary and included excursions are well thought out. We used another travel agency for a trip and the excursions were offered while on tour and ended up costing us another $1,000.
Tour Rating:
Our tour guide Nico made the whole trip wonderful. There was no waiting for anything. All the logistics involved happened behind the scenes and everything went smoothly. The weather was windy when we were scheduled for a boat cruise and Nico was able to switch days for calmer weather without any issue.

Swimming in the sea
Tour Rating:
Very beautiful and fun trip with a great group and EXCELLENT Tour Leader! Hard to choose one stand out memorable experience because the entire trip was memorable. The special excursions added so much value by learning so much about Greek culture and history.
Tour Rating:
This was one of the best travel tours we’ve ever taken. Our tour guide was fantastic and the hotels were even better than I imagined they’d be. We loved hiking the Acropolis, shopping in Mykonos, a sunset dinner in Santorini - it was all fantastic!
Tour Rating:
It was awesome! Everything was top notch! From booking to the flight home, everything was well organized. Amanda was awesome also. She was very helpful and very knowledgeable. Our next trip will definitely be with Collette!

Swimming in the Agean sea will be my most memorable experience. The entire tour was well done, organized and I always felt in good hands, safe and secure with our great tour manager. The tour guides on our excursions were superb.

Our tour guide Theadora was just wonderful
Tour Rating:
This was my first group travel experience and first time to Greece. I was attracted by the itinerary that included a lot of planned activities but also free time. I chose two excursions: the Mykonos Farm and the Santorini islands sunset cruise. Both exceeded my expectations and are highly recommended. Our tour manager, Theodora, could not have done a better job. Her warmth helped our group of 40 people come together in a way that made me feel like I was part of a family. Everyone was welcoming and inclusive. Collette did a wonderful job preparing us for the trip, from start to finish. I loved learning about Greece and its people. I left it wanting to learn more. Perhaps my favorite experience was the sunset sailing cruise and jumping off the side of the boat for a swim to the sulphur spring. Or maybe cruising along with the sails unfurled to watch the sunset.

The tour was well planned, but could easily have been made a 14 0r 15 day tour with a little more time for each site. I really loved the visit to Ephesus and to Mary’s house. I also enjoyed the stop at Patmos. Our guide, Theo, was very knowledgeable and really made the trip interesting.
Tour Rating:
Theo was the ultimate tour manager! His kindness, thoughtfulness was above and beyond what could be expected! He got to know each of us personally and went out of his way to make sure that we all had a enjoyable, information packed adventure in every town we visited. The tour was filled with so much historical, cultural and biblical information and was very thought provoking, knowledgeable as a tour of faith:Indeed, "In the Footsteps of St. Paul!"

This was an amazing vacation! The guide, Marieke truly made it. She was available, kind, fun, knowledgeable and told the best stories. I have been singing her praises and of Collette Tours since we came home. Everyone in our group was great too. We all got along and i think some of us are planning trips together in the future. My favorite hotel was Mykonos. It was fabulous and definitely our favorite. My favorite day was the volcano hike in Santorini and sunset cruise. Every day was great though. We truly felt like this was the perfect balance of scheduled activities and relaxed vacation.

This tour was amazing in every way. It combined fun, education, and faith together for a once in a lifetime trip. What made it extra special was our tour guide Theodosios Sachpatzidis and the local guides for each stop of our journey (in Corinth, Acropolis, Ephesus, Patmos, Santorini, and Philippi). This was my first time traveling with an organized tour, as usually I am doing all the booking of lodging, transfers, sites to see, etc. It was great to arrive in Greece and have a transfer all set up to our lovely hotel. Theo immediately gave us great suggestions for meals and places to see in Athens upon our arrival. I took advantage of his suggestions and loved seeing the changing of the guard and Parliament. The Celestyal Cruise line was also amazing, with great accommodations and food. The buffet style was perfect to try all sorts of Greek foods as well as other international foods. The pool was refreshing and I loved walking on the decks to see the beautiful sights as we pulled into and left various ports. It was great to break up the tour with a cruise in the middle of land/bus tours. Next, we left the ship and traveled by bus to the north of Greece to Thessaloniki. The bus was super comfortable and the driver, Achilles was spectacular. We felt safe with his driving and going to numerous stops to see more interesting sites in Greece. I spent more money on this trip than I would normally do but it was worth every penny of it. Using Collette was great, and I will plan to do it again. I believe what made it so extra special was the faith component of the trip, traveling with other Christians to sites that Paul the Apostle traveled. The stop in Meteora was a really special stop for me. To see the monasteries high above was breathtaking. It is very had to pick just one highlight though. Finally, our guide, Theo went out of his way to help everyone enjoy the trip,; as there were many personalities-some slow, others fast, some late and others early, he brought us all together. His sense of humor and yet attention to detail made the trip run very smoothly. The evening meals at local tavernas were outstanding. The food was fresh and so fun to try different Greek cuisine. (there was always too much food) I would recommend this trip and have enjoyed sharing the fun highlights with everyone back home. I will treasure the memories made for a lifetime. It was very fast paced, which I enjoy. Now that I have seen the highlights of the Greek islands, I want to go back and spend more time on them.

View 16-Day ItineraryCollette’s Greece tours typically include strategically located hotels, many meals featuring regional cuisine, expert local guides, transport between destinations, and the services of a professional Tour Manager. Many tours include immersive experiences such as cooking classes, winery visits, and farm tours with demonstrations. Specific inclusions vary by tour.
The most popular times to travel to Greece are spring (April–June) and fall (September–October), when temperatures are comfortable and crowds are lighter — especially on the mainland. Summer is ideal for island tours, with warm weather and cooling sea breezes, but expect crowds in places like Mykonos, Santorini, Naxos, and Crete. Collette offers departures across multiple seasons to match different travel styles and comfort preferences.
Most Collette Greece tours involve regular walking, uneven surfaces, and stairs — particularly at archaeological sites. Collette tours are thoughtfully paced with built-in breaks and free time, but Greece is best enjoyed by travellers who are comfortable being on their feet for parts of the day. Check the activity levels on each tour to pick one that is right for you.
New Zealand passport holders do not currently need a visa for short tourist stays in Greece. Passports must be valid for at least six months beyond the travel dates. Entry requirements can change, so Collette provides updated travel documentation guidance closer to departure and recommends travellers review official government travel sites for the most current information.
Credit cards are widely accepted in Greece, especially in hotels, restaurants, and shops in cities and tourist areas. It’s a good idea to carry some cash for smaller purchases, local cafés, or markets — particularly in villages or on smaller islands. ATMs are common, and Collette Tour Managers can help advise on day-to-day needs whilst on tour.
Greek cuisine emphasises fresh ingredients, olive oil, vegetables, seafood, and regional specialties. On Collette tours, travellers enjoy a mix of included meals — from traditional tavernas to farm-to-table experiences — along with free time to explore on their own. Many tours feature culinary experiences such as cooking classes, olive oil tastings, winery visits, and opportunities to sample local dishes unique to each region.
Transport between destinations is arranged by Collette to be part of the experience and may include private coaches, ferries between islands, a day cruise, or short flights within Greece, depending on the tour. These logistics are planned in advance to reduce stress and ensure smooth transitions, allowing travellers to focus on the experience rather than navigating on their own.
Yes. Greece is a popular choice for first-time guided tour travellers because it combines iconic sights with manageable travel distances and a welcoming culture. Collette’s expert planning, local guides, and clear activity-level expectations help travellers feel confident, supported, and well cared for throughout the journey.
Comfortable walking shoes are essential, as many historic sites involve stone paths, steps, and uneven ground. Lightweight layers are recommended for changing temperatures, along with sun protection for warmer months. Modest attire is required for visits to certain religious sites, such as monasteries, where covered shoulders and longer bottoms may be expected. Collette provides detailed packing suggestions prior to departure.
English is commonly spoken in tourist areas, hotels, and restaurants throughout Greece. On Collette tours, you’ll be accompanied by English-speaking Tour Managers and local guides, making communication easy whilst still allowing you to engage with local culture.
From handpicked hotels, restaurants, and cultural experiences to thoughtfully integrated free time, our on-the-ground team in Greece crafts journeys they'd want to take themselves.
