    • California coast bus trip

      • Service
Their assistance in planning the trip and their communication prior to travel was excellent. I had never taken a bus trip like this before and probably would not do this type of vacation again. It was too many hours each day on the bus and not enough time in some of the locations. I had hoped the bus would be more comfy, but It felt like traveling in coach on a plane.

We saw quite a few sights, however, I would have liked to have had more than one night in Yosemite and Monterey. There was virtually no time to do any exploring on our own. The highlights of the trip for me were the city tour of San Francisco, the tram ride at 6PM in Yosemite and the side tour of LA with the tour of the Dolby Theatre. The accommodations were excellent in San Francisco, Monterey, Santa Barbara and Pasadena. The accommodations in Yosemite were rustic. I would strongly suggest that in the future welcoming dinners be located in a restaurant or facility that can provide a private room, so travelers can meet face to face, introduce themselves and mingle. We introduced ourselves on the bus during the journey to Yosemite and we were unable to see who was speaking. Because of this and the fact that most people did not wear their name tags, we did not become a cohesive group until several days into the trip.
    • Too much to see in not enough time.

      • Service
Welcome dinner poorly planned. Restaurant was not conducive for introducing all 27 members. It was done on the bus 2 days later and could not see the people behind you. Not enough free time with only one night in Yosemite and Monterey. On the go from 6:30am until arriving at lodging until 5pm or later. Best Western in Santa Barbara was best accommodations with nicest amenities including on site restaurant.

Best experience was the Tram ride at 6pm in Yosemite. Seems we spent most of every day on the bus. Early starts and large settling in at accommodations.

Thank you for sharing feedback about your recent tour with us. We have passed along this info to our team for review so they can improve the tour for future guests.  We appreciate you and look forward to traveling with you again soon.

I already completed the survey that was handed into the tour guide. Much of this has already been said. The planned day tours were good. The dinners were super! However, we should NOT have had to take a bus to dinner on Sunday for our 'meet and greet'. And then Monday everyone was basically on their didn't allow the group to 'gel' until several days later. Our guide was too full of himself and not as service oriented as we've had in the past. And fair or not, comparing the bus driver to what we've had in the past she wouldn't score a 2 out of 10. We had to 'ask' for water. Was too lazy to get ice after the 1st time. Came unprepared on the 1st day, dropped us off at a rest place and went to find water and ice. When we'd ask for ice, she'd reluctantly get it and then if you said 'thank you', she didn't even have the courtesy to reply. I could go on and on with examples of how the guide could have helped a few elderly at Hearst Castle, how he didn't like the idea of a group picture, and the explanation he gave for that and when it was suggested that a piece of paper be passed around for people to add their contact info and make copies of it for those who wanted to share, he also didn't like that and all the excuses of how he didn't have time, but ended up emailing us a list with everyone's emails...whether they wanted to share or not. Oh and it was suggested to create a FB page just for our group that anyone could share their photos so if others wanted to use them they could...again 'vetoed' by the guide, he said just to post on Collette's page...NOT the same!!! Again, this isn't even all...but I will say, unless we are not able to find what we want to do with another company, we probably won't be back to Collette.
