It’s time to say "let’s go" on your African adventure. When you go with the experts, you'll get even closer — to the wildlife, to nature, to culture... to yourself. Our expertly planned, expertly led tours go beyond sightseeing, connecting you with the continent’s diverse cultures, untamed landscapes, and remarkable histories. From conservation efforts to culinary traditions, get ready for an adventure filled with unforgettable experiences.
We’ve been curating safari adventures in Africa since 1993. Spanning these decades are rich relationships and expert designers and guides who live in the region. The result: access to experiences you’d be hard-pressed to find on your own. If you’re hoping to see some wildlife, a guided African Safari tour just makes sense.
Africa offers breathtaking destinations, from Tanzania’s Serengeti and Victoria Falls in Zambia/Zimbabwe to the ancient alleyways and medinas of Morocco. Explore Cape Town for urban coastal beauty, the Namib Desert for otherworldly landscapes and towering dunes, Chobe National Park in Botswana for its biodiversity…the list goes on — it just depends on what you want to experience.
Timing your African adventure is key. May to September brings peak wildlife action in Southern Africa, as animals converge around scarce water sources. June to October is prime for East Africa’s Great Migration, a spectacle in Kenya and Tanzania. For vibrant landscapes and fewer crowds, November to April offers stunning birdwatching and Victoria Falls at its most dramatic. Spring and fall are ideal in Morocco for sightseeing and urban exploration. If you’re planning an African safari tour, read more about the best time to travel to Africa on our blog.

Everything about it was amazing and the add on to Tanzania was incredible!

This was such an amazing trip. We got to see prides of lions, herds of elephants and zebras and wildebeest, leopards, hippos, rhinos and some really beautiful birds. Of course we got to experience monkeys and baboons! And sleeping in a (wonderfully appointed) tent was also a treat; even though I was quite skeptical of this experience, I absolutely loved it. Our driver-guide, Julius, was a wealth of information. Since we also purchased the Tanzania excursion, we had the best experience in that part of the Serengeti. It was amazing and I just loved being able to see the animals in the caldera.

It was great from start to finish!

Our tour guide/driver Hussein was the best! He made every day exciting and enjoyable even on the drives between hotels. The whole tour was more than I could have ever imagined - absolutely wonderful!

This tour exceeded all my expectations! I must admit I was very Leary going into it because booking with Collette was NOT easy. The safaris were amazing, the accommodations top notch and we couldn’t have asked for a better tour manager! So many unexpected experiences!

Our driver was fantastic very very knowledgeable! When we had the special events, it would’ve been nice for them to offer a second glass of wine or second beverage! We really enjoyed the special events. When we would do restroom stops, we stopped at a lot of what I called tourist traps. It would’ve been nice to stop at some local shopping area two of the jeeps did stop at one shopping area, but they did not relay this to our jeep so we felt a little bad that we didn’t have the opportunity to also do this. One day we did three drives I elected not to do one of them. I felt that was a little too much when the other people came back they all wish they would’ve also not gone. They didn’t see anything new and would’ve like to have enjoyed the pool and other amenities that the hotel had to offer..

We lucked in to good guide, good copmpanions and good weather. The last hotel was lacking but fine. Needed more tip money than I had been advised.

Lifetime dream and it fulfilled it all. Favorite spot was seeing the small elephant slide down the muddy hill.

A great tour filled with many magical moments!

My favorite memorable experience was when the large elephant walked up to our boat paused then walked past us in peace. My least favorite thing about our tour guide was him talking about politics with an unfavorable attitude. He only need give the facts and leave personal opinions or tones at home. Also when he was dissapointed in the accomidations he should have talken the employee aside and worked things out instead of doing it front of everyone. It made many uncomfortable.

Being out in the jeeps and getting up close to the animals was great. The last day, two male and one female lion appeared and we were able to get a good picture. Looking out at the horizon, there was a full moon and a reddish sunset. A beautiful way to end.

Best Holiday trip in 35 years.

My tour was beyond my expectations. We saw all the big 5! Remarkable!! An average of 2 safaris a day.. also some water safaris.. Accommodations were great.. There we could see animals far away and up close. I enjoyed all the meals there very much. There were restaurants with entertainment…One we could participate in.. we had our own drums at our seat. A favorite was eating in the home and having conversations with different families.

From start to finish, this is one of my absolute favorites from Collette. From the bush of Botswana to the mighty Victoria Falls and the beauty of Table Mountain to the enticing wine country of Stellenbosch, it’s an incredible tour brought to life by a tour manager from South Africa. You learn first hand what growing up in Africa is like from apartheid to present. From the beautiful people to the up close encounters with wildlife, it’s the greatest adventure on earth!

I'm in my late 80s and just wanted so badly to go on an African Safari - so I did! I can not express my gratitude to everyone on the tour to make it a grand experience. The Collette staff were so super helpful and all the other tour group were wonderful! Thank you all.

Fantastic trip all around. I was very satisfied with the 5 days of safari with the rest of the days being sightseeing, wine country and Victoria Falls. It was a great combination, and every day was a new adventure! We loved it and our tour guide, Shouab (sp?) was fantastic. He took care of our every need and then some. Favorite memorable experience was of course, the safari and seeing the animals. Maybe my most favorite was watching the elephants cross the Chobe River near sunset as well as an elephant drinking from the swimming pool at the Black Rhino Lodge. What an amazing experience.

Just an amazing experience and a True Photo Safari. We saw the Big5 by the 2nd day. Our tour Director was so knowledgable. I would definitely recommend this trip to my Friends and family
