Southern France at its finest

Vine-gilded vistas and majestic groves dotting the landscapes. An idyllic countryside said to have inspired the Masters. The axis of universally-renowned cuisine and nave for some of the world’s finest and most exclusive vintages. This is Southern France, also known as le Midi, where a kaleidoscope of colors paint a vivid panorama, and the notes of fine vintages and heady culinary alchemy is a common seduction. Walk into a living storybook at the UNESCO-designated village of Carcassonne, and venture to the iconic bastides and wine cooperatives of the Dordogne Valley. Take in the pastoral splendor of Saint Rémy’s lavender fields. Follow your smell for adventure on a chase for truffles during a chef-led, dog sniffing journey. Savor a Grand Cru in the region it was born, break bread amongst the vineyards of 16th architectural titans, and toast à votre santé inside the grape-festooned region of Bordeaux as you embark on a discovery of Southern France you’ll never forget.

      • Tour
        carcassonne was the best !
    • Exceeded expectations, despite a few logistical glitches.

This tour was amazing. There was almost too much to take in--great wineries, restaurants, historical sites, art in various forms, a cooking lesson from a master chef, shopping in local outdoor markets. But there were logistical glitches and the Mercure Hotels where the tour was booked weren't the best--although the later hotels where we stayed more than made up for these. Also, the restaurant in Bordeaux where we had a full tour dinner was less than satisfactory; in fact several people on the tour found their meal inedible. But the last night's dinner in St. Remy was, and I'm not exaggerating, the best chicken dish I ever ate. Also, we LOVED our guide, Jeffrey. He was professional, kind, engaged, and hardworking. We'd take another tour with him as guide anytime!

The variety of experiences in the many towns we visited were wonderful--well beyond what we had expected.
    • No time to pause, stayed on the go!

      • Service
Can't be any better. We booked at the last min. and still everything was on time and complete. There were a couple of attractions that could have been eliminated in order to spend more time at more historic or more cultural places, but all in all , it is a fine tour. Tour guide Jeffrey was calm and collected through even the unexpected difficulties encountered.
      • Tour
Lots of medieval towns and beautiful vistas. Visits to Saint Antonin Noble Val, Carcassonne, and Pont due Gard were outstanding. Could have skipped the laser light show to have had more time on the ruins of Chateau Des Baux. Going to the top of the Eifel Tower and Chef Joe's performance in Avignon were truly highlights!
