The tour was wonderful and the Newfies are great people!! It's a terrific part of Canada. Beautiful scenery, icebergs (O.K. - only one - but it was huge), whales, quiet, clean and great beer (made from Iceberg water)! Our tour manager, Jeff, was a wealth of information about all sorts of different subjects and got us excited about standing on the earth's mantle in Gros Morne National Park. I've been recommending this tour to everyone since my return and hope myself to return.

The tour covered everything about Newfoundland - the fishing industry, the politics before "they let Canada join them"!, the geology, the people, the 9/11 onslaught of redirected flights that couldn't land in the U.S., the music, the eco-museums. Favourite experience(s): seeing an iceberg and having the "Sharecroppers" playing solely for our group. Oh yes - and being "screeched-in"!
    • Service
The tour was well designed for the most part and the tour director and bus driver were knowledgeable and eager to be of service.

I would have rated 5 stars but was disappointed in the experience in Gander. The tour agenda focused on the history of Newfoundland but overlooked Newfoundland's role in early 21st century history -- the landing of planes on 9/11. While the history of the Vikings, the indigenous peoples and the early fishing fleets were interesting, do not overlook the important world history that has taken place in recent past. Time with the people of Gander or the people of St. Johns sharing their experiences during the days following the 9/11 landing of all planes would have been interesting.
    • Service
Excellent tour. The guide and driver were outstanding.
    • Tour
The Viking village. We would have liked more time in Gander to savor the 9/11 experience of the place and the people.
