We are actively monitoring the discussions in Congress over federal funding, and the potential impact on our tours visiting Federal Sites & National Parks across the United States.

Without an agreement between the House, Senate and White House, the government will shut down on Saturday September 30, 2023 at midnight. The impact to our Tours will be limited to those visiting some Federal Sites & National Parks across the country. Some states including Utah, Arizona and Colorado have indicated that they will provide the necessary funding to keep the National Parks operating. Other states are considering similar measures.

If we are unable to operate or your tour is altered due to the government shutdown, we will contact you directly prior to departure.

Celebrating 10 Years of Giving: It All Started in Peru

Dan Sullivan Jr., Collette’s President and CEO, visited Peru in 2006 expecting to be immersed in culture, transformed by beauty and moved by the unique traits that make Peru stand out on the world map. He was not expecting to return home from that trip and launch a nonprofit organization that would forever change the lives of children around the world.

How it all began

During that fateful trip, he spent some time with children from a small Peruvian village who were badly nourished, their diets mainly made up of potatoes. Their school lacked basic supplies, making it difficult for them to truly engage in learning. The experience was eye-opening. Dan had dedicated his life to travelling and giving back – but he had never brought the two passions together. Giving back to the world that gives us so much was simply the right thing to do. And so began our global foundation. Collette Cares for the places where we live and work; as well as for the places where we travel.

The journey so far

Since we launched the Collette Foundation ten years ago, we have added Social Responsibility to Collette’s core values. The idea of giving back to a world that gives us so much permeates our culture here and it’s something we all participate in whether we are volunteering in our local communities or in communities abroad.

A global effort

With the help of the Collette team around the globe, we have been able to do a lot of good in the past decade. The Collette Foundation has launched projects in Ecuador, South Africa, Australia and many more. Our One Million Meals initiative and Impact Travel Tours also serve to help us accomplish our goal of providing a level playing field for all children by providing them with food and education. We are full of hope that we can help break the cycle of poverty for many more children around the world in the coming years. There are many more exciting things to come!
