Just outside of Lautoka, Fiji, you will find a tiny settlement called Koroipita, made up of low-income earners who have in the past been homeless. With help from the tourism community, Koroipita has been able to eliminate unbearable living conditions by building model townships that provide residents a home with all the other essentials to provide a safe environment for families. In the past 10 years, our project at Koroipita has provided 84 homes to families in need. The community also has provided the villagers with a day care centre, bakery, safe parks, arts and craft centre, a grade school to give children access to an education, vegetable gardens, and more.
