For Morocco travel, pack loose, breathable clothing that keeps shoulders and knees covered, especially in cities and markets. Women do not need to cover their hair unless visiting a mosque or certain religious sites.
Morocco uses the dirham. Many local markets, shops, and restaurants only accept cash, and smaller bills are helpful when shopping in souks for Moroccan souvenirs. You can find ATMs in airports, hotels, banks, and cities.
Moroccan meals use spices like cumin, saffron, cinnamon, paprika, and turmeric. Try tagine, couscous, chicken pastilla, harira, preserved lemons, and sweet mint tea to get a variety of local flavours.

Our tour guide, Simo, made this trip one of the best ever! The depth of his knowledge about Morocco, its history and culture, was unparalleled. In addition to the main sites we visited, he always made sure to point out lesser known gems—the town known for roses where they make everything from the distilled petals, the ancient ksar with a huge date market inside it, the best spot in the medina to haggle for a suitcase because you don’t have enough room for all the souvenirs! And he did this always with a smile and great sense of humor! Take this trip—you won’t regret it!

Trip to the Sahara Desert and traveling over the Atlas Mountains

Out of the many tour guides we have had over the years , Zaid was right at the top! The whole tour was well organized and 20 of the 22 people were amazing. Two people from Trinidad made things hard for Zaid but he handled with extreme professionalism! The highlight had to be the 2 days in the Sahara Desert!

The tour manager, Mohamed, was exceptional. Very informative, engaging, and entertaining. I particularly enjoyed the camping in the Sahara, even with the dust storm! The accommodations were much better than I expected, where a "Moroccan 5 star" was as good as any "5 star" in the US. I also liked having a bus for transport that gave us room to spread out and sit where we liked. Also, the food was excellent, varied, and delicious (though I did get a little tired of tagine by the end). Well done overall.

Our guide, Mohammed, added a great deal to our experience by his knowledge and experience in Morocco. His ability to communicate everything about the history, culture people the farmland in the south versus the cities in the north and everything else gave us an extensive understanding of Morocco. Most everyone would say their favorite part was being in the desert. The camp was extraordinary and riding a camel is not something you can do just anywhere. While we enjoyed every part of the trip, the desert was the most unique.

Camping and riding camels in the Sahara, exploring the medians, staying in the elegant riads. The tour manager was excellent, a great ambassador for Morocco! All the local guides were great too. A very immersive experience.

The tour manager was the best. He shared both history and current events. He paced the days well. He was proud of his country, and also honest about the shortfalls.

This was a perfect trip to explore all of Morocco! The tour guide was top notch and shared his vast knowledge and love of his beautiful country in a way that was engaging and informative without seeming overly scholarly. I would highly recommend this adventure!

Great scenery, excursions, food, support from tour director.

Excellent tour. Pre-excursion/tour portion was AWESOME! Tour manager and guides were excellent. Since I was very disappointed with the local guides for our Collette Southeast Asia tour, this was redemption for the excellent local guides Collette secured. All their impact, special moments were excellent. Some of the hotels were disappointing (mainly due to their location). Would not recommend visiting during Ramadan as you miss some of the normalcy of Morocco.

This was an exceptional tour in Morocco that really connected us to the culture and history of this beautiful country. Our tour leader, Nabil, was excellent and made the experience fun and enriching. The pre-tour to Chefchaouen and Tangier was a real highlight, the North of Morocco should not be missed. And of course the desert was amazing, loved the 4WD vehicles, the desert camp, even the camel ride! A true highlight was tea with a Nomad family at their now-permanent home in what seemed to be the middle of the desert. The tour was full of special cultural moments that would have been difficult, if not impossible, to arrange independently.

It has been 65 years since I left Morocco having lived just north of Marrakesh for two years. I'm not sure what I expected but all I can now say is that the tour was way too short. Yes, the country has changed and yet not changed in my mind. It is of course much more modern than it was when I lived there and at the same time it's as beautiful as I remembered. Our accommodations, all, were OUTSTANDING, and our tour guide was without question the very best and I am grateful for all he provided as a guide. I would highly recommend this tour to any and all who are considering a tour to Morocco.

It was all wonderful. Especially the glamping and riding the camelsl

Morocco was such a different experience. Loved the camel ride in the Sahara and the nights in the tent. Visiting the mosque in Casablanca was very educational and the mosque was beautiful. The people are very friendly and accommodating and we never felt unsafe. The tour gave such a varied and complete view of the entire country.

The Sahara desert rxperience was exceptional. The sites, camels, and experience was unforgettable.
